Never was much if a poster on any Star Wars forum, but I have always been a massive "lurker" following spoilers steadily throughout the Episode III period. It's been an eventful three years, both in my life in general and with regards to Star Wars. Star Wars isn't anywhere close to being my primary "geek hobby", but it's always occupied a sentimental spot in my heart, and still does even after (and despite) all the bullshite I've seen slung around various boards.
Anywho, I'd like to send my humble thanks to all the "insiders" who've been steadily supplying myself and every other hungry SW fan with new info. I don't even wanna know how you guys got your info (I'm almost afraid to ask) but either way thanks for being cool enough to share.
I'd also like to send props to all the exceptionally cool people (all three of you

) that posted some insightful, intelligent, and most of all entertaining ideas and theories regarding the inner workings of this long running saga.
And of course MF.com which I wound up registering for very late in the game regretfully. MF, I hardly knew ye...
That all said the things I am very much happy to say goodbye to are:
Idiotic "board terminology" such as "basher" gusher" "flame" "troll" "ban" etc.
The "PT vs. OT" and "SW vs. LOTR" bickering. Utterly childish and stupid.
And above ALL else, a heartfelt "fuck you" to all the old hens that frequent the ultimate sewing circle of misery known as TFN's "Basher Sanctuary" (two or three in particular but I won't name names). Those sad individuals are the kinds of bitter, cynical, joyless, battle axes that seem to thrive on bleeding the innocence, heart, and fun out of ANYTHING (and this extends far beyond just SW also). I'm absolutely dumbfounded that any of them at one time had enough of a pulse to enjoy something as childishly playful as SW. Artistic criticism of any kind (especially for something as harmless as a damn space fantasy flick) should be fair, unbiased, and above all constructive, NOT the kind of kangaroo court, witch hunt bullshit propaganda that they peddle like crack lords.
I hope some of them read this, because I can say this here and not on TFN: get help. Star Wars is a fucking movie. And aimed primarily at children, but it can be for ALL ages. But the prime audience is kids, and no child gives two shits about all the meaningless details that you people nitpick like its some kind of Holy Scripture. None of you psychos knows George Lucas personally, so he doesn't "owe" you jack. That also means that none of you have the right to make this childish shit personal by calling him schoolyard names. It's called common respect. Look it up. I'm neither a "basher" a "gusher", nor a "Lucas apologist". I don't want to kill the man nor perform sexual favors on him. My feelings for the guy are pretty much nil, aside from the fact that I dig his movies, because he's a total stranger to me AND you, and I don't have an unhealthy stalker fixation on him like you guys. I hope to God none of you have kids of your own, because if you do my prayers are with them.
My apologies to everyone else about the rant above, but I've wanted to say that for the last three years and never had the opportunity to anywhere else. But forgetting all the negative aspects of this, it has been a fun ride. I am actually gonna miss the Christmas-ish feeling that came with finding new little scraps of clues and spoilers and the mutual excitement that came with (most) everyone else.
I also miss checking out all the "speculative fan art" on what the "new droid General" was gonna look like. Fun stuff!
In anycase, sayonara Episode III spoilers. It was fun while it lasted.
