Then why did you mention that your stuff passes HDMI as if you assumed I didn't know how electronics work...?

To illustrate that you don't need a TV with a USB port to run Wifi on your big TV.
I never said you said that you said that you said you didn't know how electronics work.

At this point, you're just pulling a Hillary (deflecting all the questions.) I will now leave you to your devices. Bad karma will come for you in due time, Bander.

In my experience, there's no such thing as karma.

Hey, I have an idea, why don't we play Mario Kart since that infinity symbol can be turned to make it look like an eight? :P

It's like the Force, you don't see it until when it's that time you least expect it to happen. :)

Ok, I didn't want to bump an angry thread but the Jabba Flow should have settled everyone down a bit.

However, I saw Civil War the other day in a captioned showing and what was shown in the subtitles was not always what the actual dialogue was. In fact it was often truncated to read faster so the text could keep up with the flow of the movie. Obviously as a Marvel film I sat through the credits waiting for stuff and noticed it was by a company called Deluxe.

I dunno what this really contributes to the prevailing disagreement, it's just my observation.

Deluxe is probably the biggest post-production company in the industry. They do it all. (They're a competitor of the company I work for!) They caption and QC rigorously, usually with a rep from the production/studio. The truncated captions are a necessity. I'm sure Freezus can confirm that. So while the raw captions are up to the discretion of the captioner, the final eyes and ears that OK a caption file are people in an official position.

I can verify that the captioning doesn't always match what's on the screen. Both you and Elvis should also consider that when movies are digitally mastered for BD/DVD, the captioning also changes! I even pointed this out with TFA.

Elvis, how did you like the captioning?

Sorry, I've been busy but no I haven't tried that, I should, though! Thanks for the suggestion.
