Not that I advocate anything like this, and I am by no means well-versed in newsgroups, DIVX, rar files, un-compression, etc... but I noticed one day that just by clicking my mouse in this special sequence, something amazing happens. I'm sure that like any receipe, you can substitute the ingredients with others of your choosing.
First, I accidently
clicked here...
Then I clicked my mouse
right here...
Next, I found myself
clicking here...
I next found myself searching
here to read up on how and why something like this could happen. And after several hours of steady downloading, I had these
special files. No .rar files, nothing that had to be re-assembled.
Next, I simply wanted to save these 4 gigs worth of files that my computer had spent days finding as DATA with my DVD burner (you know, just in case I need these special files for some purpose later on.)
But first, I wanted to make sure that these files were complete and working, so I
did some more clicking with my mouse, and this little beauty answered all my questions. And quite nicely organized my data files in their correct VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders.
After enjoying a lovely beverage, I, at this point,
backed up VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on a 'Data" DVD (NOT a "Video" DVD!) Mind you, just for safe keeping.
After the back up burning was complete, my computer mistakenly began to read my Data DVD as if it were some kind of... well, movie. And you know, it did look like a movie I paid to see sometime ago. I tooked the Data DVD and showed my friends on a set top DVD hooked to a widescreen TV and they were impressed that these random data files could be regarded as approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes of quality entertainment with no glitches, crisp sound and no timecode (unlike a recent movie I had seen.)
Let me stress... I am NOT computer, internet or technically savvy. Nor do I condone what other may regard this as a "touchy subject". It literally was as simple as accidently clicking my mouse in the described manner. I hope my experience will serve as "warning" to you... watch where you click!
I hope I didn't drip too much sarcasism on your shoe... I don't know whose rip version this is, but it's widescreen (not sure about anamorphic), clear picture, menus, great sound and simple - just download, and burn.
Period.
