Ok, so I was invited to the Lucas companies employee screening of Sith last Saturday. Multiple theaters around San Francisco were rented out to show the film. This was for all employees plus one guest per. I went to the Metreon in S.F. which had 3 rooms showing, but only one was digital. I obviously chose that one.

It also happened to be the one where all the VIPs watched. George showed up with family and friends as did Rick McCallum. Robin Williams was also there with his wife. The movie was phenomenal and it was a pleasure to watch with a major portion of the people who made it sitting around me. After all of the credits rolled everyone stood up, faced George, and gave him a standing ovation. He said a few words like "thanks for all of your hard work." etc...

We all filed out of the theater in anticipation of the lunch/party at his new "compound" in the Presidio. Right in the heart of San Francisco. He is moving the majority of his companies to this new site. After the movie at the lunch....I knew that they would have props and costumes from the movie throughout, so I was camera ready. The first thing I saw when I walked in was 3 wookies including Chewie.

It was a great time and I got to talk to George and Robin a bit. I've uploaded scans of my pass/ticket/laminate and pictures from the lunch. Most of the photos speak for themselves. I can't wait to see the movie again when it comes out.

Kinda can see the death star in construction shot behind the Vader prop.

...not only did he mingle, but he stayed the majority of the day. I was told that Lars Ulrich form Metallica was there, but I didn't see him.

thanks for the snapshots. one question though. since you saw the digital version, could you tell if there were any additional scenes that have reportedly been left out of the film print version? for example, there was talk of Dagobah exclusively being in the digital version. anything come to mind based on the talk here?

no dagobah or anything else diff in the digi version...however, in addition to the props and costumes were production drawings including one that was titled "yoda escape to dagobah" They are already working on the DVD with approx 200 additional shots....I assume that will be one included.

Did they give a presentation or something after the film where they told about the 200 odd shots being added to the dvd? I just haven't heard that exact info before so I'm interested.

I had many conversations with ILM employees at the party. It's unknown how many shots will be included.

Man, that was relly excellent of you to post those. To see George just hanging out with everybody and enjoying himself. I hope you realize just how priviledged you are to have been apart of that. Talk about a historical moment! To see all the props on display was very cool also. I remember back when they were shooting those things and now here they are forever apart of history. The stuffed Chewie was a littlew creepy with no eyes. And they coulda put a wig or something on the Padme dummy wearing the gown, jeesh!lol

I'm confused about the Digital version, have heard/read and was told at Celebration 3 at McCallum's Spectacular program that the Digital version would have a sequence(s) not in the Film version?

At Robert Guyette's (Viz FX) program - He told of how George was and would be tinkering, tweaking right up until days before the 19th - Ex. Vader's Arms up (Trailer), Arms down (Soundtrack Musical Journey DVD)

Matthew Wood (Sound, Greivous voice) said he was heading back to the Ranch to continue working on the DVD where we would find (and has since been confirmed) a number (5-6) of Deleted scenes

The Ep.3 Wookies, Vader, Anakin-OB1-Padme costumes + Props were also at C3 but not Tion Meddon, Palpatine-Bail costumes, Droids, Vader helmet or the models - What a treat!

With that 'Tarkin on the Bridge' Background - I like how GL in his recurring Vizual themes is repeating the last shot of the Prequel T to those in the OT

I have my own sad and tragic story to add to this thread and make it a little more despressing. Years ago, we're talking like 77-78, my aunt, who lived in California at the time, was given the chance to become an exec at Lucasfilm... and she TURNED IT DOWN!!! I could have been going to CA to the Lucasfilm employee family fucking BBQs every summer, but NO! My aunt decided to go into real estate. And my life has been a terrible slide to the dark side ever since. For all that happens to me, I can always look and back think, 'if only I could be in Cali right now, eating hamburgers with Lucas, the whole goddamn ILM posse and Natalie fucking Portman.'

But at least my aunt did get some Lucasfilm personalized office pens and a photo op with some Stormtroopers.
