if its under 1 GB, you can start by hosting it on www.yousendit.com

and after that, well hopefully the people who download it here share it as well until everybody has it.

Ahh the Target video eh? I was so excited when I saw it pop up on screen at work yesterday. It's basically the "Celebrate the Saga" video that was shown at Celebration III.

Oh, is this the one from Target? I was just thinking it would be cool if someone could get that and post it here.

My job takes me into Target and I get mesmerized watching that damn thing.

Here's another excellent side of having the Saga complete and livin' in the age of non-linear, digital editing.

All the inevitable montages. Seriously, what better way to commemorate the ol' Saga then putting a personal one together using your own music and stylings?

chuck, are you resampling the DVD?

if it's 4.7 GB just rip it with DVD Decrypter:

but isn't the version on the OS really small? it still might be nice to get a hi-res rip of this...

FYI: here's the direct to the HS version for those that care: http://www.starwars.com/hyperspace/memb ... c3_jim.mov

Umm, since not ALL of us are Hyperspace members, some of us would like to have this on their computers.

I think we would just need to be careful how we post it (i.e. PMs, etc). Am I correct? Or should we steer clear all together?

I for one wouldn't mind a PM if you have a link up in a little while *cough*cough*

could be blown up, but also depending on how the feed is set up to all the tvs, it could just be a poor signal because it was split so many times. same thing with best buy, you know the HD tv's are supposed to look really good, but they never have a direct signal going right into them, so the picture never quite looks as good as it should.

Get a program called VideoRedo, and make an .mpeg file out of that .V O Biatch.

Then compress. Always compress.

What's the filesize? I have the tools to compress it so it wont be that much of a hassle to download from yousendit or something similar.

it's not pixelated on ours....nice CLEAN cut. No HS logo, just the TARGET bouncing RED stuff half way through in the bottom corner.

I can't get JUST the trailer. It's not seperate from the rest of the track, unfortunately.

I have to rip the whole thing, then edit it down to just the trailer in WMM.

if you chose re-author in dvdshrink, you can select just what you want and rip that portion off the disc. i've done things like that when copying movies before.

edit: you can put in whatever email address you want, your own is fine.

the copy I have works, but looks crappy....I can MSN messenger someone the clip, and you can edit it....I have it down to 862mb if that helps..

WMM makes it crappy looking...but the 862mb file is beautiful.

edit: I'm on Roadrunner/Cable, not dial up ;)

wow. i think 862mb is a little big for someone to transfer and edit down, even on a fast connection. it's a pain, but you might want to try ripping just the portion you want off the disc, then do any compressing from there. when you open the disc in dvdshrink, click the reauthor button. drag over just the file that you want to rip, even if it's the whole thing. at this point you should be able to use the selector on the bottom to highlight just the portion you want to rip to a VOB file. then the process should be the same as what you did before.

ok....sorry you guys are having to deal with me learning how to do shit you've probably done for years, but....

I did EXACTLY what you juast described...I have a fully edited clip of JUST the trailer.....

Since the first time it was shitty, I'm using DVDRipper to make the NEW version saving it as an AVI.

the current vid size is 720x480.

Should I change the size BEFORE I RIP it or just LEAVE IT?

as a person who gets paid to edit (for television and the web), I can say that you don't neccessarily need a non-linear editor to toss together the six films into one edited piece. It can be done without a NLE. It'd take MUCH MUCH LONGER, but it can be done.

Ok...I have TRIED again and AGAIN to upload this fucking thing to YouSendIt AND YouShareIt, and it either times out after 20 minutes, or the page has errors on it.

I will IM it to SOMEONE, ANYONE that doesn't mind leaving their MSN Messenger on for about 20-30 minutes, and maybe one of you will have better luck getting it online.

I WANT to share it, but dammit, I can't get it to work!!!!!

The DVDRipper version is 31mb...the quality is OK, not great.

The .VOB original file is 199mb, and looks GREAT!!!

LMK if there are any takers.

It'd be smarter to PM him your email address. You never know when someone going to take your email and fill your inbox with porn spam.

MelifluousMike is now the proud owner of the .avi file I made, and the .VOB is about 1/2 way sent to him....

Hopefully he'll have better luck uploading it to YSI.

That's a very good editing job. There's a lot of ground to cover, and a lot is missing, but it does a decent job covering the saga.
