ugh the graphics of the games on those platforms suck ass

movie games have always been bad, but Ubisoft + GameBoy/Nintendo DS is always one big pile of commercial bullshit. I dunno what to expect from the PS2/Xbox versions though, the TPM game was kinda boring.

If only all SW games were as good as Episode I Racer or Rogue Squadron.

does anyone even know who is producing the PSP version of the game? I read on a PSP forum that Ubisoft was but in doing my own research I found that they were strickly doing the DS/Advance. On IGN I read an article from September that a PSP game was being released the day of the movie, the 19th obviously.

Ubisoft, LucasArts to Bring Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith to Handheld Consoles

PRESS RELEASE -- This text is not created or endorsed by GameSpot.

SAN FRANCISCO – October 28, 2004 – Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced the signing of a new and exclusive licensing deal with LucasArts to develop portable video games based on the upcoming Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith movie. The title will be available on the new next-generation of handheld consoles - Sony's PSP, Nintendo DS, as well on Game Boy Advance - and will launch in conjunction with the movie in Spring 2005.

Developed by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith on PSP, DS, and GBA will fully leverage the strengths of each handheld platform. In their own unique way, each game will immerse players directly into the most compelling and memorable moments of the movie to produce the ultimate Jedi action experience! Multiple character control, devastating Force power and never-before-seen locations are among the key elements that will impress handheld gamers.

"Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith will be the video game that every handheld gaming fan on the planet will enjoy playing - including those of the epic Star Wars series," said Alain Corre, Ubisoft's managing director for Europe, Middle East and Asia. "This ultimate Jedi action game will astound gamers using the new handheld technology from Sony's PSP and the Nintendo DS. As always, it's a pleasure to pursue our partnership with LucasArts, particularly with such a hot license."

no one appreciates nintendo anymore because they suck. The catridge format is outdated and all of their games are extremely youth oriented. Just look at the Console Wars (no pun intended) Strickly Sony vs. Microsoft. The Nintendo president even had the balls to say that online gaming wasn't something that people were ready for or even interested in when they released the DS.

Nintendo's using cartridges for the GameCube? Since when? And why is GameCube outselling Xbox worldwide if it's a two-company race?

Either way, though... the DS version looks like shit. The thing's capable of outdoing the Nintendo 64, and the game looks like it doesn't want to outshine the GameBoy Advance.

I love Nintendos games, but about one new pokemon and zelda game each year isnt enough for me.

all very true

on a side note, the NDS version looks so much like GBA version because those shitheads at Ubisoft aren't creative enough. The NDS is capable of much, much more, but they decide not to use the extra power. The touch screen will be, I'm sure, way underused but that's not a Ubisoft problem. The touch screen itself, is crap.

Nintendo sucks because they made the wrong decisions. Iwata was a prick, and I'm not sure if their "Revolution" will be as revolutionary as they claim. I loved Nintendo, the N64 was definatly one of my favorite console periods, but Ninty's been letting me down lately. A lot.

By not making the same console every time, with better graphics?

huh?

they're not making the same consoles, they're actually taking it a step too far. You see the industry is not in for a revolution yet. What Nintendo needs, is a multimedia machine with an adience that reaches much farther than kids. The occasional R-rated game like Resident Evil or Eternal Darkness isn't enough.

Especially the multimedia part needs to be considered. I'm holding my breath for the uncovering of the Revolution on E3 next month.

no nintendo doesn't use cartridges for the gamecube but the advance & ds. i didn't say that they did. I simply said that the use of the cartridges was outdated. We were talking about handhelds and I continued to. That was until the next sentence when I proceeded to. And Gamecube is outselling Xbox world wide because of the teenybopper Nintendo games I mentioned above. Pokemon and crap to that effect are huge hit in Japan and across Asia. Not to mention the fact that the Gamecube's price got cut to a rediculously low amount. It's simply a two company race when it comes to quality of games and consoles that gamers look for. So, in the end, yes..... Nintendo is a joke.

actually, the cartridges provide with faster loading times. The loading times on PSP are a pain in the ass, and they consume battery life like nobodies business. The loading times is the reason Nintendo stuck with it until the dvd era with their tv consoles, and the battery thing is why they stick with it now with their handhelds.

This statement is just flat-out dumb. Nintendo is easily the best game developer in the world.

Nintendo is trying to avoid another market crash. In the early 80s, Atari basically killed the industry by putting out the same POS products day in and day out. The market tanked, and it wasn't until the NES that life was poured back into it. So is Nintendo's "Revolution" premature? Yeah, probably. But at least they're trying.

As for the internet, Iwata's admitted his mistake, and Revolution will have WiFi connectivity out of the box.

It's not whether Nintendo is better then Sony. It's the fact that Star Wars is a license to print money and any old shit will do. And the fact that LucasArts keep using Pandemic is purely down to economics - they make very average games, cheap and on time. Ubi Soft used to make some pretty good games but this obviously fell through the cracks - it's shit, plain and simple. The DS version is the same as the GBA version but with some ropey 3D levels tacked on and a rubbish Force Powers touch screen selection.

In a word - bollocks. I wouldn't hold your breath for the XBox & PS2 versions either.

Nintendo is a fantastic game developer yes, and I wouldn't mind seeing their games appear on PS if they'd cease console production.

I however question their Revolution console. WiFi is one thing, but that alone won't attract customers. The only thing they need is good advertisement, reach a wider audience and give in to more multimedia capabilties like dvd video.

All things are multimedia today, from organizers to cellphones. It'd be unwise to keep ignoring this market.

i didn't expect much from the ds/gba version so this was actually pretty nice, it's too bad the ds is using the same sprite game with maybe added 3d space sim stuff. i wonder how it is in the gba version.... not 3d. i wish they showed more droid slaughter.

but i am buying the xbox version. i want it so.
