Anyone know when tickets go on sale in North Carolina?

Have you checked Fandango, like this for Charlotte? (fandango). Still no decent theater in my area is selling tickets online and I don't have a DLP theater within 110 miles of me.

I don't know what the difference between DLP and digital cinema is if any, but there is an all digital theatre in Greensboro that has 18 screens. And yes, I checked Fandango and there are not any listings up yet for Greensboro.

Just wanted to give a heads-up: I was still able to get multiple tickets to the 12:01 am show for May 18th through Regal Cinemas (Fandango online) for Eugene, Oregon.

That was at 8:10 pm western time.

I wasn't able to get tickets to my local Cinemark - they don't have them up yet, which is too bad cuz' they have the nice stadium-type seating.

I'm not sure if this is indicative of the entire Loew's chain, but I've been keeping in touch with the Star Southfield in Southfield, MI (they do DLP) and all I can get is "sometime in late April or early May". If anyone has any more information about Loew's or Star Theaters than I do, please pass it along.

I can't believe midnight showings are selling out this fast...this didn't happen last time.

My theater manager(Sherman Oaks Galleria in LA) looked at me stupidly when I asked when they are selling tickets. They are not sure when they are going to sell it. Either way, I just need three tickets to the DLP one.

VUE Portsmouth, 00:35 showing... If there's still tickets left.

For those buying Fandango tickets, you do need your credit card number and expiration date to retrieve tickets, but you do not actually need the card
itself.

Theatres can manually input the information in (they do this when the credit card swipes go bad) and retrive your tickets.

Got my midnight showing tickets at a local Regal cinema, the local SW group is meeting there too, looks like I might bring my saber.

By the time I got online, the 12:01 at the Arclight in Hollywood was sold out (probably by the people lined up at the Mann's Chinese) and then the whole site went down for almost an hour and a half. By the time the site came back up, the 12:10 showing and 12:10 digital showing was sold out. The only thing I could do........buy tickets for the 3:30 a.m. It's not what I really wanted, but it's good enough. Last Star Wars movie ever. I'll watch it at any time of the day (by the way, that German tv footage looks fantastic). :meatwad:

Canada/Ottawa update

According to the Famous Players Colliseum here in Ottawa, advance tickets will go on sale anywhere from 2-3 weeks before.

As for showtimes, the helpful person in the admin office I spoke to had no idea.

Durham, NC USA Area:
Southpoint Cineams put SWIII tickets on sale yesterday. There will be 4 showings:
12:30PM, 3:45PM, 7:00PM, 10:00PM with a midnight showing on May 18th.

You cannot get them online at movietickets.com as of yet (Lord knows I tried), but you can get them at the box office.

I'm sure I won't have a problem getting tickets, even if I were to go the day of the premiere, but my concern is also getting tickets for the particular theatre showing the film in DLP.

I don't even know if they'll have an answer for me regarding which exact screen will be projecting the film digitally, but I'd sure like a heads up when tickets are being sold, just so I can have them, and whether or not Colossus will indeed have the DLP projection.

I'm going to call Paramount today...I'm assuming that they're going to be showing it in IMAX, so that's what I wanna see. Anyways, I'll hopefully be able to find out when their tickets are going on sale.

Yahoo article on ticket sales:

------------------------
LOS ANGELES - As Yoda would say "Sold out, the first shows are" — for "Star Wars: Episode Three: Revenge of the Sith" at a cineplex in Hollywood.

Tickets for the 12:01 a.m. May 19 showing of George Lucas' latest installment of the "Star Wars" series have already sold out for all four screenings at the Arclight.

Tickets for the new "Star Wars" movie went on sale Friday at many theaters across the country and at online providers like Fandango.com.

Fandango represents about 70 percent of the country's movie houses that have remote ticket sales.

"Star Wars" ticket sales figures from the weekend aren't yet available, but Fandango CEO Art Levitt said in a statement that "for those theaters already listing show times, the appetite for tickets is huge."

Small World. I live ten minutes from that Plano theater.

Last time they had the charity premiere there in DLP as well. Too bad for some reason Texas didn't get a charity screening this go around.

They have DLP shows there all the time. Currently, Sin City is showing on it. Check the Cinemark Legacy listings they always have something.

I remember the first DLP show I saw was TPM in November of 99. That was their premiere of the technology. Since then, I see every film possible in DLP.

I first saw DLP at the Legacy as well. I happened to go see 'Óceans 11' there and didn't even know I was watching it in DLP. Even through the initial trailers I was floored by how amazing the presentation was. When the DLP logo came up, I had already remarked to my friend that we must be watching some kind of super-projector or something.

The most amazing thing to me about DLP, besides the colour and clarity, is the lack of image flutter that you ALWAYS get from film projectors

So, I'll be at the Legacy at 12:01 on the 19th for the DLP premier of EIII...

I saw Attack of the Clones in DLP up in Woodbridge at the Colossus.

It was beautiful, like DVD on a 60 foot screen.

As for tickets in Toronto.

Famous Players and Cineplex are dicks.
I plan on seeing the 12:01 showing at the Paramount just like TPM and AOTC, but have no clue when tickets go on sale.

Update for those who live in the Toronto area:

I called Famous Players and this is what they had to tell me...
a) Colossus will receive the digital copy of ROTS
b) They will post information on their site, or we will know through the media when tickets go on sale. If they had to guess they said 2 weeks before the opening - May 4/5.

I highly doubt there will be sold out shows from pre-sold tickets like in the US. There aren't as many Star Wars junkies here. You could probably get tickets the day before or day of and be fine.

I don't know for sure. You should call Paramount to make sure. I live in Thornhill, up north, so I just checked on Colossus - I've went to Episodes 1 and 2 there.

Fuckers... The DLP used to be at the Paramount then they decided to cart it up to the Colossus for some reason.

I want to see it in DLP for the first showing, but Woodbridge is a hike, especially if the movie ends at almost 3 am.

Well, I wasn't fast enough to score openning night Arclight tickets, but I did get a pair of Friday afternoon'ers (11:00). Oh well, atleast I'll get to see the flick in one of the best theaters in the country openning weekend.

Quote:
There are three showings, does anyone know if any of them are digital? I know Spectrum has at least one digital theater, here's hoping I get lucky.

I was planning on seeing the flick there aswell but decided not to chance it as they normally list the DLP showtimes for all other films. I hope you do get lucky and find they are showing the digital version at the midnight screening you're going to though.

I called Paramount today and they said essentially the same thing - they're not selling tickets yet, but they would have more info in about 4 - 5 days. I'm hoping that the midnight showings don't get sold out.

That's cool you got to meet Peter Hipnotik.

Got my physical tickets at the box office at Irvine Spectrum yesterday. The girl at the box office said they don't know yet if they'll have digital, so none of the times are set yet for the digital showings. They have a DLP projector, so that's just weird that they haven't received official word of a digital showing there.

I'm going this next wed there for a MALLRATS X screening with good old Kevin Smith, before I get there... I'll visit the line at the chinese and asked them to spare me 2 tickets, at face value, all I need is a ticket for midnight, everywhere I look is fucking sold-out everywhere.

Tickets for Colossus Woodbridge are now available to purchase online at movietickets.com

Not sure though which theatre they're showing it in. All it says is '12:01am'.

EDIT: I just called them. The tickets that are currently at movietickets.com are for the DLP screen - cinema 4.

This is my VERY first post here. Anyway, I hadn't seen this mentioned yet on this topic (or board, rather).

For Loews, Star Theaters (in Michigan), Cineplex Odeon, and Magic Johnson, if you're attempting to purchase 12:01am tickets and have no luck getting anything. Check this weekend for a 12:10am showing. And (depending on how large the theater is) a 12:20am showing. And a 12:30am showing.
