Maybe so, but in the latest Insider, Robert Barnes, an ILM concept sculptor says that he wanted to give Grievous more capabilities than a standard droid, and one of the ideas in his sketch is that Grievous could grasp things with his feet.

So the idea comes from an ILM employee.

If Grevious fights with a "footsabre" in EPIII I will be mortified. I don't mind that he can scale starcruiser hulls or walk up walls, but to see him fight another Jedi with a sabre sticking out of his foot sounds too absurd, IMO.

Yeah...footsaber will be as comfortable to watch as Anakin's AotC masturbation scene.

I should clarify that Barnes doesn't specifically say that his sketch indicated Grievous could wield a lightsaber with his foot.

Also, Paul Rudish, art director for the Cartoon Network, says his team came up with the ideas such as his feet being as dexterous as his hands, his "pinwheel" movements, swirling a lightsaber around like a buzz saw, etc.

It's kinda like Mace in the micro-series. Jumping 100 feet in the air. Looks cool in the cartoon but he won't be as dexterous in EPIII.
