Thanks a lot, DP. It hasn't made a whole lot of sense to me that the story has been completely spoiled by releasing the comic and the novel, but that the soundtrack has been held back. I'd rather it had been the other way around. Glad I won't have to wait any longer. Great job!

Consider the -alt preset standard format. It's a Variable bit rate mp3 settings that have been extensively tweaked to be as close to CD quality as possible.

What with DVD, liner notes, etc. how could you NOT buy it? For me, these dls are just a preview to hold me over.. I bought the Visual Dictionary and everything else I saw here first.

Very beautiful stuff so far, but I had to get the ninth track off of the mirror site posted earlier ... seems like you can only access it by password off of your main link list.

yeah, no doubt I will buy the soudntrack anyways. I'm too lazy to convert them into high quality mp3's, so I'll pass that one and wait for the release. Plus it has a dvd on which I definatly don't wanna miss out. Tnx again for putting these suckers on line :heavymetal:

How long do regular mp3's last on a burnt CD? I've never tried it, but I expect that it will carry me over until May 3rd.

I love the soundtrack. It's great. My only complaints are that "Palpatine's teachings" is a bit quiet and slow. Not much happens for most of it. Also, "Anakin's Betrayal" seems to use almost exactly the same "hook" as Hans Zimmer's "Tennessee" from Pearl Harbor.

Also, is anyone else hearing some computer beeps during a few tracks?

CBR at high bitrates is usually just a waste; VBR makes the most sense.

But if it were me, I'd do MPC.

Number 6 is REALLY creepy. (Palpatine's teachings) He is going to be one creepy son of a bitch in this movie. :o

Hell, Forget that...Padme's Ruminations is plain old SCARY. Good Lord.

For those of you using winamp to listen to the tracks there should be a plug-in on winamp's site, called "Expander" that uses mathematical algorithms UNCOMPRESS the mp3 back to near CD quality.

"Expander" goes from 10 to 1 compression back to 2 to 1 compression and basically makes your 128 kbs mp3 SOUND like a 256 kbs mp3.

I'm not sure if this is what you were talking about, but it's the best one I've found:

Enhancer 017

There's also these which I haven't tried:

Arboretum Realizer
Stereo Expander

Yes, there are some jitters or so especially in the choir parts, but it is good enough to bridge the time till the real cd is released.

Maybe it's possible to get rid of the jitters or to filter them out...but would it be worth while ?

A friend asked me why this site was good in my opinion,
I simply said: These guys are the pro's!

This is the best spoiler site ever and I owe you guys so
much for putting this up! Thank you... thank you!

Best SW soundtrack yet and will forever be since it's the
last of them all - Little sad to think that though.
But this OSt... so dark, so powerfull! Excellent finale!

Expect me to pre-order this asap!

Duel of the Fates - Evil
Across the Stars - Romantic
Battle of the Heroes - Tragedy

Seems like the list of track titles posted earlier from the site is a little out of order with the movie, unless it's supposed to be that way. Is Enter Lord Vader from the birth scene you think? It kind of has those sad overtones.

This soundtrack is awesome, JW has outdone himself.

I noticed this "JOHN WILLIAMS DOCUMENTARY ON DVD" petition on jwfan.com. Please, EVERYBODY SIGN IT!

My comments on the final track...

Since Revenge of the Sith ends not only the prequel trilogy but also the six-episode Star Wars Saga the finale of this film serves as one smaller ending as well as a grand farewell to the Saga. Williams' end credits for Revenge of the Sith performs both duties perfectly and becomes one of the greatest pieces of Star Wars music ever recorded.

The breathtaking thirteen minute piece begins with Leia's theme as she begins her life on Alderaan and moves smoothly into a low key rendition of the Binary Sunset cue from A New Hope as Obi-Wan hands baby Luke over to the Lars on Tatooine. It's very restrained and right when you hope it reaches its emotional peak, the end title fanfare explodes leading you into A New Hope where the full cue will be heard.

The traditional end credits fanfare melds into the familiar Princess Leia theme. That theme is given time to play before moving to a reprise of Battle of the Heroes. From there, Williams takes his time to say goodbye to Star Wars with a finale that will likely leave those fans who sat through the credits in tears.

As Battle of the Heroes fades out, we move into a robust rendition of the Throne Room them from A New Hope. Even larger and more grand than ever before, the epic theme is heard in full until it melds into a beautiful and intimate rendition of the Force/Skywalker theme (probably one of the best versions ever composed) before flaring up to a triumphant reprise of the Throne Room that harkens back to the Williams of old. We finish things off with the famous Star Wars fanfare as Williams brings the curtains down on twenty-eight years of Star Wars. It can be described by no other word than perfection.

I don't know... Anakin's Betrayal seems too calm in the beginning to be the showdown between Mace and Palpatine. I think it could be the scene where Obi-Wan discovers the recording of the massacre.

Wow...

I listened to track 1 first in 10 second intervals because I was on a slow comp. And I really hated it. I was like shit! It's formless it's just random trumpets playing! Then I listened to the rest of the score and it's SO MATURE. It's not even like Star Wars. And I bet JW has lot's more in store for us. Think of how many emotional moments aren't even covered here! I listened to track 14 and...wow it's sooo sad. I think the 2nd part of QuiGon's Funeral may be the gungun's getting killed, or pushed back underwater and the sphere of life being broken, or whatever it says in the novel.
