i do hope "dotf" makes an appearance somewhere in the movie even if not on the ost, it was one of the crowning acheivments of TPM! i wish they had held it back and swapped it for "battle". Im lovin the end titles kinda like a greatest hits thing goin on!

Pretty sure DOTF is played during the palp/yoda fight, but I hear that music IS NOT on the CD. Guess we'll have to wait for the Ultimate edition. I think it's meant to be more of a sith vs. jedi theme, which is why it goes there rather than the duel.

Holy shit THANK YOU DP!

The end titles are beautiful from the sound of it, the orchestra was in top shape. Not that they arent always, but this is just full of passion.

love it.

I'm hoping the score doesn't get too edited - we all know how Lucas loves to tinker.

Regarding the main theme, I thought I read somewhere (post notes?) that they chose not to rerecord the opening theme and were instead opting to use a previously recorded version. Am I delusional?

Hell of a wake-up surprise thank you so very much!

No, that's pretty much what Pablo said on his scoring notes.

God Bless You, Darth Psychotic!!

This is simply amazing. Just from these four tracks, I can say that this is my favourite soundtrack since ESB. Williams has outdone himself. Bravo! And, we got the four best tracks on the thing, to boot.

I would have preferred Williams re-recording the main title along with the first track.. the edit just doesn't seem right, just when the crawl music is about to end in its peaceful way, the bombastic music takes over. I like the idea, but it doesn't feel right. I'm sure it would have been perfect if Williams chose to redo the crawl music.

I think the reason why we have the throne room theme in the finale is to bridge Episode 3 with 4. We are entering the familiar themes, the familiar trilogy, the familiar ones we have loved for so long. I think it is a great decision... especially with Revenge of the Sith being so dark and dismal with everyone and everything dieing because of a stupid jedi who couldn't think.

Holy shit, listening to this and I am SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!! It's just not right for a thirty-four year old man to be so blown away by music like this! But screw it, it's Star Wars for one more time, why not!
Not making much sense here, this is totally doing my nut in! And I'm trying to update my site at the same time - FAT CHANCE!

Hey, first post but I've been around here daily since AOTC spoiler days.

Usually I don't write in message boards but I have to say, this music just makes me feel like I'm going to be an adventure filled classic OT movie. There's so much emotion put in by Williams' scoring and such and what the orchestra puts into it. Usually I can not hear emotion being put in by a symphony orchestra but this case is different. 5/5 stars I say!

just finished listening to the end title and I'm in genuine tears. Don't know if that's sad, or if I'm thinking back to simpler days when I was eight and my Uncle Tony gave me my first soundtrack, the double Star Wars album on vinyl, which I played to death.

Same here. Many thanks, DP :heavymetal: :heavymetal:

I remember hearing that Duel of the Fates would be at the end of the duel, am I just assuming it didn't make it onto the soundtrack, or that it may be during a different track, or just exclusive to the movie?

I remember Pablo said it was in there, so I guess just not on the CD.

Honestly I think the opening battle stuff is my favorite as far as action is concerned... but I'm willing they, as usual, left way too much good stuff out of this soundtrack release. The MAIN TITLES AND REVENGE OF THE SITH and A NEW HOPE AND ENDING CREDITS are my favorites, and BATTLE OF THE HEROES makes a wonderful theme for this movie.

Padme's Ruminations owns me! May be my favorite yet! Sounds like something written for a David Lynch movie!! Williams really surprises me, not only in this track, but everywhere else too, in more ways than I thought was possible.

It's very possible that we can get higher bitrate > 192kbps. I'm gonna ask for 256kbps to 320kbps. Regarding the DVD I don't know... our tracks were pulled straight from a disc, not sure what type of disc it was. Will have to consult The Dude.

It's good to see so many people plan on honoring the work by buying the soundtrack... a nice reminder to other corporations that they have produce quality product in order to make sales. They hate that.
