Yes, that's the one sense I can hear it in. The actual ROTJ cue could show up in the movie.

BOTH gives me the same feeling that the ROTJ duel music did so long ago: it feels like a bittersweet goodbye. This time the goodbye is forever.

Ternian was basing what he said about "The Darkside Beckons" from what he heard in the TV spot...

But then again, Dark Side Beckons sounded more like a riff on Emperor's Theme than it's own piece, and Battle of the Heroes doesn't seem to have many similarities to EITHER cue.

I would agree. BOTH takes small elements of Dark Side Beckons, but runs at a much quicker pace, presumably to keep up with the energetic nature of the duel.

Dark Side Beckons had the feel of "epic conclusion" while BOTH gives me the feel of "the inevitable doomsday is here."

Just sharing random thoughts while this music plays in my headphones over and over....

Sorry for this offtopic post.

But since you are the third MFer to ask about my Avatar...

I just found the original Hellboy animation, it was done by a guy named Rune Spaans using 3DSMax.

A link to the original 640x480 AVI and more info can be found here:
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=93561

I'd forgotten how beautiful the original was.

What an amazing surprise this was... cheers, Darth Psychotic.

A couple questions... in track one, is that actually the way it's going to transition out of the opening crawl into the space battle? I like it... very different and sudden when compared to the others, but I remember that the TPM soundtrack didn't really have it the way it actually was in the movie... it went into the Coruscant landing cue (one of my favorite prequel cues) instead.

Battle of the Heroes sounds great. Unfortunately, I keep hearing the Terminator theme in the main lick. Both protaganists do have a nasty run-in with lava, however.

Love that Leia theme... but wonder if the Luke and Leia theme from ROTJ might have been more appropriate. From what I've read, it doesn't make an appearance. Can anyone verify?

Hey man I am not too far from Ann Arbor a lil west of there in Hillsdale. Surrounded by farms out here. And Marquette's hockey team ended my high school athletic career bastards ;)

Awesome news about Shaak Ti! She is a serious babe! :) I might have to head over there next Saturday. I appreciate the tip!

I hear Williams quoting the Imperial Attack(I think that's the name of it) from ANH at the 3 minute mark in Battle of the Heroes.

Ok, I listened to the 3 tracks once (won't do it again) I am a bit ashamed, but I figured 3 tracks wouldn't hurt.

However, I am *really* impressed! I absolutely love Battle Of Heroes, it's a fantastic main theme and I like it millions and millions of times better than Duel of Fates (and quite frankly, it didn't remind me of it at all). What really threw me back to the good old days, though, was the finale. It's seems like a perfect final touch to bridge the gap between Ep. III and IV. The first track had things that reminded me a lot of the two first Indy movies. Mesa moi, moi lovin' it!! :heavymetal:

All I gotta say is Track 1, time 1:39 = everyone owned.

Williams really spent some time on this score and it shows.

I think waht Zeal means is that Lucas really collaborated with Williams on this score :)

EDIT: Oh, nvm. Nonetheless, just from these four tracks, I think it's pretty clear that was the case.

People like to personify a project by it's leader and it's very true of directors. Think Bill Gates wrote Windows 95?

Mr. Williams, in addition to writing it, directed the LSO.

Regarding the rest of the soundtrack, this should be it for now till late Saturday night. I need to be online to leak this stuff and need some sleep + tomorrow is going to be very busy for me.

It's not a simple matter of just putting it out, Ternian and "The Dude" have to be consulted.

I see. Well in this case, such people would be ignorant and insulting. Lucas was at the scoring session pretty much like everybody else: hearing the music for the first time, safe in the knowledge that he and his movie were in good hands.

I take everything back, what I thought about Batlle of the heroes. Once the choir starts it's great. The other tracks are also very fine, so atleast the soundtrack doesn't dissappoint for sure.
