Have done research on a fan-zine project 'The making of 'ANH' (From what I can remember)

A quote from H.Ford in confiding (after his return to the states following his principal photography in '76) with a friend 'I got paid less for the role of han solo than I was earning as a carpenter' (Before the Madness)

GWL's innovative ways extended beyond the camera lens and editing room. - He announced he was going to create a point-system and reward the people who had delivered his dream personally (After the green-backs hit the fan) - A total of 2 million was divided between cast and crew. (Remembering this is '77)

His 3 principals - Harrison, Hamill and Fisher, were awarded three quarters of one percent of the net profits to be divided between them. The precise windfall to this day to the public is still unclear.
Easy to guess seeing as the OT has easily made $600 million worldwide, that translates into a net profit of some $150 million -
Safe to assume each cast and crew member made over $1 million from the original monies (That's not including any of the Sp. Edition stuff, DVD Etc.)

Alec Guinness was the highest paid off the bat - an original offer of $150,000 in Jan of '76, then participation points were added - 2% of producers profits
His first 'SW' cheque was for the sum of $308,552 Feb '78 with another 131,770 to follow
For 'TESB' - a couple days work, small percentage of profits - expected to recieve $20,000 - said he'd be happy with $5,000 (He began to sour on the hype, fandom thing)
Recieved $250,000 in Nov '83 'ROTJ', he pretty much appeared in Ep.'s 4, 5 as a favour to GWL

James Earl Jones was orig. paid $10,000 and refused screen credit (I'm sure he is on GWL's 'To be taken care of' list)

A specific amount for Peter Cushing was up there ... (Can't remember)

15 other major cast members, approx. 50 Main Crew + 2nd, 3rd layer cast and crew (All on a percentage points system depending on their contributions)
