Sorry if this isn't MF worthy, just curious what others got tonight when the goods went on sale. Here is my experience...

Went to walmart at 12. There were about 15-20 people there. Toys R Us had a decent line as did Target. I got the novel and looked around at the toys but didn't buy any. The action figures were 5.49 each, the burnt Anakin 12" was 49.99, the trivial pursuit game was 49.99, Monopoly was 24.99 and the star wars chess set was 24.99. The sabers were 24.99 each and they had Obi, Mace, Yoda, and a color change Ani/Vader. I don't remember which specific figures they had, but I do remember the interchangeable Ani/Vader that everyone was fighting over. They didn't have the visual dictionary or any of the other books so I'll have to go get that tomorrow at Borders I suppose. Oh well thats it for now, gotta go read some...

The 12" Ani looks kinda weird just as a normal figure. Something about the face. However, the burnt piece you can put on over his head looks pretty cool. Of course the Vader suit looks awesome. However, I do have a problem with the face on the suitless Anakin. I'll see if I can find a picture...

The "Ultimate Villain" Anakin is a rip-off at $50, in my opinion. It doesn't look that great; well, at least, certainly not good enough to warrant its price.

I went to TRU for the sole purpose of grabbing a Holo-Yoda, and by the time I got into line I was behind over 10 people, so I thought I was screwed. When we got in, everyone was all over the place, so I couldn't even get to the shelves that had the basic figure. Then I just said screw it, and took a chance by asking an employee if they had any Holo-Yodas. Wow. He just walked over to the returns counter and took one out from under the desk and handed it to me.

Seems like the employees were trying to hide it themselves. Apparently I got the last one, or they didn't want to give anymore up, because people kept asking me where I got it but got told that they were all out.

I also left with a 12" Sidious and a regular Palpatine figure. I should have just waited until Wal*Mart later since the prices will be undoubtedly cheaper, but I just had that urge to buy a bunch of crap. Oh well, I can always return them for price difference.

Funny thing is that TRU was supposed to sell the figures for $5.29 or something, but it didn't show up that way on my receipt at first. But luckily I did a price match with a Wal*Mart ad.

Yeah, the neck is way too large, imo.

The other 12" figures are damn cool though. I'm probably going to get a Grievous tomorrow, and I can't wait until the Aayla 12".

None of the Walmart on L.I. were doing the midnight thing. I went to the Toys R Us in freeport. there were around 30 people on line. the store made the smart move, they set up around 30 shopping carts and just filled each one with just one kind of action figure. it made it alot easier to pick up . they also had sealed cases that had 12 in each. there 2 small shoving matches (i couldnt tell over what) that were broken up right away.

i went in strickly for the smaller action figures and i was hoping there would be the exclusive yoda hologram. i got most of the regular action figures (skipped 3p0 / r2 / chewbacca), but no yoda. they are selling the yoda online though. toysrus.com

now i have to get up in 5 hours to go to target and try for a vader. good luck everyone.

The Sidious 12" is definitely cool. It's not as dark or detailed as the prototype, but it looks well-made, down to the lightsaber.

I'm not sure if I will check out Target tomorrow. I could care less about their Lava Vader, which looks like gimmicky shit. However, Target has the Obi-Wan figure with the cup that I might want.

I'm gonna go tomorrow out to the Wal Mart by my house. It's doing the 48 Hours of Star Wars thing. Don't have much cash. As long as I get a Vader and Anakin figure, I'll be set.

I'm still recovering from the original POTF and TPM line back in 99. Mucho deniro spent on that bunch of plastic. At least I did get my hands on some kickin 12" figures like Chewie and Boba.

The ROTS line actually looks pretty cool. They've come along way since the days of saber up the arm Luke and non-posable Leia.

Enjoy the fun and midnight madness, kids. This won't come around again. Normally I don't condone frivolous spending, but in the case of starwars, I say, 'go for it'.

Went to Toys R Us Midnight Madness and got the three Unleashed figures as well as Dooku, Obi and a Yoda Holo figure. Earlier in the week I'd got the Deluxe Anakin/Vader and Palps/Sidious sets, the Vader and Grevious Force Battlers and Darth Tater. I am now officially skint.

How shitty is the Obi Wan Unleashed lava? The smaller piece just doesn't want to sit in there at all.

Every Wal-Mart was a different story for me.

The first one I went to here in Las Vegas was great and very smooth. The Toy dept. lady was very kind and she hooked me and my mom up. We helped her put the figures on the pegs after everyone had their moment of ecstasy. Of course the red royal guards flew faster than a speeder bike and so did the 12" figures, and the Unleashed.

NO ONE GAVE A FRAK ABOUT THE LEGOS OR ATTACK TIX. Sad.

Unfortunately, they only had figures 1-32. No ARC fighter and no AT-RT. Bummer. The Republic Gunship went fast in it's green glory.

I then went to another Wal-Mart and bought the Early Bird thing there (keep your receipt if you get it). They had a tonh of them.

Then I went to my last Wal-Mart and there was a scalper dude going through all the boxes, pulling out all the red royal guards, clone commanders, etc. After the Wal-Mart people chased his Rancor poopy off, I stuck around and helped clean up his mess. I did find the AT-RT ($20 ouch) and a clone commander... awesome figure.

The figures 32 to 40 go too fast. Not cool,

i went to the local toys r us last night, and i was sickened by the acts of greed performed by "fans". all of the most popular figures were taken by scalpers. some had carts of the same figure...disgusting. well enough ranting, today i will begin my hunt anew.

I got the SW TP in the tin at TRU. I work at 4am so I didn't go at midnight, but they were sold out of the Yoda. They told me to come back on April 10th.

I got the Target exclusive Vader just for the hell of it, since I work there and my boss kept an eye on the line. I got ticket number 23, which unfortunately that had to tear up in exchange for the toy. My friend Dan didn't even wait outside (in the rain), but he was able to get a ticket anyway.

FYI: The Targets are getting anywhere from 36-48 Lava Vaders. My store got 36, but they only gave out 32 tickets, to save 4 for an "emergency". So if they are out, and you put up a fuss, you might get one if they held some aside.

I WANT the Episode III official release poster but I CAN'T find it ANYWHERE! TRU & Target don't carry posters. Is it at Walmart? Help! I want the 23 x ? not the 27 by 40.

I went to Wal*Mart at about 9:30 and half the shit was already gone. I don't think they had any Wave 2 figures at all. Instead I was greeted by some guy who kept asking me worthless questions. Also, you know that it's time for you to leave when people are humming the Imperial March while they are finding their figures.

I checked out Target as well and they had a shitload of everything, but all of it was marked at $5.99. They were supposed to be as low as $5.20 or around there, and even $5 tomorrow. But the idiot employee that just stood in the aisle looking at the toys and blocking my way said they wouldn't even honor a price match with Wal*Mart.

ETandElliot, Thats the Warwick RI Toys R Us, I was there last night too, but did not see myself in the pictures you posted. How long were you there? I ended up leaving around 12:50 with only a couple of items, since it was a clusterfuck when they first opened the doors.

My TRU last night had a line that went all the way around the building. It was a madhouse feeding frenzy. Two local news stations were there. Fortunately, because I was in costume and helping the store they let me and others who were doing the same in the store before they opened so we could reserve our items and put them in the back room, then check out later. So I got a Unleashed Grievous, a Kit Fisto, and a Clonetrooper. I also picked up the Galactic Heroes Yoda/Sidious pack.

Woa..i admire you all...

I pretty much got burned before i saw TPM. I bought toys worth $1k in one night. I was even on tv for like 20 secs...

But after two at the best medicore prequels, i refuse i spend one dime on those half assed toys. Anyone seen the detail on the Mcfairline toys? Why the fuck cant they just give star wars some loving as well? The toys look like they are made to cash in and nothing more...

the only thing i hope and want is a good decent Ep3. I buy the soundtrack and maybe the making of book but thats it for me...

I was there longer than expected (I'm thinking until around the time you left) because the people were a little too fucking ridiculous. I got everything I wanted except a Dooku figure. There weren't many of those battle arenas, no? Lucky I got the sweet Sidious/Mace one. I had on a Stormtrooper Crossbones track jacket and Vader shirt anyway.

I had to get me a C-3PO as it was my very first figure way back in 77 when I was just 3. Ahh how cool this figure is, brings back so many memories. I also got Darth Vader and the Walmart Exclusive Package thing. It makes me kinda sad that all of this is gonna be over soon. I hope that damn TV show keeps the torch going.

By the way if you plan on buying one of these Wal-Mart Exclusives from someone on ebay make sure you email the person and ask if you are getting an original receipt as it is required. I have a feeling alot of those bidders are gonna be shit outta luck when they get theirs.

I have one up for sale on eBay that comes with the receipt and some free Attacktix figures. Wal-Mart was just handing them out like crazy.

PM me if you want a link to my auction as I don't want to get in trouble by posting a link here.

Does anyone know how many Revenge of the Sith action figures there are total? I'm thinking of collecting all of these. They look incredible this time around compared to the few Phantom Menace figures I got back in 99.

The Wal-Mart Star Wars EARLY BIRD Certificate Package. If you read the back it says you have to send in an original receipt to complete the offer. The offer being that you will get 4 updated versions of Luke, Leia, R2-D2 and Chewbacca from 1977.

I didn't get too much today.

I got 3 basic figs (Sidious, Clone Trooper, and Dooku because I don't have a dooku figure), the Deluxe Anakin/Vader, an Unleashed Obi-Wan, The Art of Revenge of the Sith and the Novelization.

About 90 bucks worth all said and done.

-Chancellor Palps (the Emperor one sucks, his head is all swollen... old POTF II Palpatine for me, thanks)
-2 regular Clones (there were 0 clone variations where I went - WalMart + Target. Target had no villains except 1 Clone Pilot and a few Dookus)
-Count Dooku... excellent sculpt.
-Clone Pilot... cool except for non-removable helmet
-Deluxe Grievous (don't like the paintjob on the regular one - also, elbow articulation and a cape)
-2 Magnaguards... I love this design. :heavymetal:
-Jedi Ninja Kick Obi (because the other one dyes his beard)
-"Lightsaber Attack!" Anakin... the non-eyeshadow version
-Aayla... because this one is way better than the AOTC one
-Chewie
-Tarfful
-Yoda... wish his lightsaber came out of his hand and he had poseable legs

And of course... Darth Vader.

Plus a couple of packs of cards... I'm a sucker for those things.

I'ma go get the "Art of..." Book tomorrow.

I only bought two Palpatines, General Grievous, Holographic Yoda, and two boxes of cereal. The cereal is magically delicious.

I'll probably pick up a few more figures during my break Monday. I also have a Target exclusive Lava Vader a buddy picked up for me coming in the mail next week.

This year wasn't near as bad as when Episode I came out.
I was first one in the door at the local KB at midnight, I ran in and grabbed a Darth Maul figure. Right as I got it, someone punched me in the kidney from behind and grabbed it from me. Stupid Maul.

Well first and foremost, fuck the scalpers who I saw digging through the boxes for the rare figures and in TWO cases rip them out of the hands of other customers. Fuck that and fuck them. I hope the market is flooded ina few weeks and they all become worthless, you sad pathetic dateless pieces of shit. I FUCKING HATE SCALPERS.

Scalpers are all a pack of shit eating pond scum fucks.
If collectors are worried that they can't find a certain item- don't panic!
Hasbro will continue to ship older figures with newer assortments.
As for things that seem kinda pricey right now, wait and it will go on sale eventually.
They need to clear the shelves for newer product.

The star Wars toys for the most part look like they're made to be played with.

The Mcfarlin toys don't.

Bingo. You want McFarlane style toys that are more for pure display purposes, then it's pretty much the Unleashed line only since they are designed with that in mind, while the rest are for the masses of young kids who are wanting something that can be played around with.

Some of them yes, a lot of them are meant to be toys as well. Of course it depends of your definition of 'played with'...

All what im saying is that the Sw toys could use a tiny little bit amount of more detail..

In the basic 3 3/4" line none of them are really rare.
Maybe the two exclusive figures: Lava Reflection Vader and the Holographic Yoda might be considered rare
These are re releases, painted up and packaged differently.
Lava Vader was originally from the 1997 Final Jedi Duel, Cinema Scene three pack (which is also the same as the HTF Toy Fair Vader)
and the Yoda is an AOTC figure cast in translucent blue, for that Holographic effect.

At the moment, some collectors collectors are having a hard time finding the Royal Red Guards, but that's only due to some greedy person taking four and leaving none for some other poor bastard.

Soon the market will be flooded with everything, there's going to be enough out there soon for everyone.

The Clone Commander, Clone Pilot, and Red Royal Guard are all rare.

The Commander randomly replaces a Clone Trooper in a case, and the Red Guard randomly replaces a blue one. At the Toys R Us I was at Friday night, there was only one Commander and one Red Guard spotted in countless numbers of cases opened. There were NO Clone Pilots found in any case.

At the moment, perhaps they are.
In the long run, they won't be.
I've been in this collecting game a long time, and it always follows the exact same pattern.

Remember when Ephant Mon was supposedly rare?
Due the the size of the figure, he was packed one per case.
People were paying $30-35 bucks for a that piece.
Several months down the line, KB Toys had shit loads of them for like $2.99 each.

No, they are rare as they are a rare variant in the cases.

It's not just that they are 1 per case, as they aren't. They randomly replace another figure in the cases.
