It's been a motherfucker of a ride. Not exactly always FUN, but definitely always interesting. hell, all this bullshit, all the boards I hopped around to, the ones I modded, the sites I helped with, the people I picked fights with, it all basically led to me actually getting a job in the entertainment industry, in an odd, roundabout way, or at least it helped..so I can't be mad at all :)

However, there's shit I'm NOT going to miss:

If I never see the terms "Post Proof or Retract" ever again, it'll be too soon.

If I never see the terms "Basher" "Gusher" "Hater" or "Apologist" it'll be too soon.

If I never see another ridiculously retarded, tired and old Jar Jar Joke, it'll be too soon.

If I never see another creative misspelling like "Luca$, Vadar, Annikin, Palpy," or the phrase "Raped My Childhood" or variations thereof, it'll be too soon.

If I never hear the phrase "Greedo shot first?!?" again, it'll be too soon.

If I never read another teasing, drawn out, coy and maddeningly inane game to fish readers to snap up any minute tidbit, it'll be too soon.

Posters whos thoughts I always enjoyed reading, even if I was fighting with them, and usually I was:

McDermd, Benovite, Fisto, Mecha, Ernest Rister, Paul Scott,Casey Trowbridge, Jaxxon's Dad, Ricardo C, Carl Cunningham, The Hellboy, Charles B, Jason @ Star-Wars.net, Andrew Clarke, Dirty Wookie, Darth Snoopy, JangoFett24, FusionAddict, A Simple Man, Imp, vandaronas, Two-Gun Qui-Gon, Krispies, Chyren, Padme Bra, Emperor, Dexter Finster, Tony Montana, Bob The Goon, Darth Blood, Max Renn, Kort, PSzabo, and everyone who ended up becoming OperationSombrero, Koreynl/GunsBlazing, IU, dvts, Vertical, Commander Antilles, Tern, TC, Chyren, Policrat, Chris Pierson, Scuzz, Rich Handley, Ted Ehlers, Wes Hutchings, Joe1138, Foxbat, vanillazinger, Bacta & Monstera.

I know I've left a bunch of cats out, but it's early and I still have to go to work. Feel free to add your own to the list, the things you'll never miss, the shit you will miss, so on and so forth. Give your props now, because its' all done in about a week, as far as spoilers go, and then the last Star Wars movie is out a month or so after that, and that's about it, kids.

There is also MF's own, HardCopy, unless an alias of his is listed.

It's been an amazing ride.

Also, I am happy that these individuals lived long enough to contribute to Revenge of the Sith:

George Lucas, John Williams, Ian McDiarmid, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, James Earl Jones, Frank Oz, Christopher Lee, Peter Mayhew

Thanks once again. And May the Force Be With You.

I remember hearing back in the mid 90s that Lucas was actually going forward in making a new prequel trilogy. What was any fan to do but go nuts. It didn't become real to me until they finally started releasing concept sketches. In 1996 LFL posted an pre-production drawing of the Falcon and it was said that it would play a role in the PT. Then everyone thought how...who would own it first? Would Obi-wan? I think it was at that point that I can remember official speculation beginning. From then on in we started getting harder information: The first pre-production painting of Coruscant: the famous shuttle shot that was replicated for the final shots of ROTJ special edition.

Then cast speculation. Would Ewan be Obi-wan? Would they 'digitally alter' his face to make him look more like Guiness? When the cast list was released it became even more real. Who was this Jedi Liam Neeson would play? Natalie Portman - she's hot! In and around 1997-1998 the spoiler train started really kicking in. We saw our first glimpses of Yoda, Naboo, battle droids and Anakin.

On November 8th, 1998 I saw something that made me shit my pants: video from a new Star Wars film. When the trailer hit I was convinced TPM was going to be the best movie of all time. Like many, I was just THAT overwhelmed by seeing new Star Wars stuff. In hindsight, I'm happy I felt that way, not disappointed in feeling 'tricked' by clever marketing. Like many here, Star Wars MADE my childhood imagination. I love the universe THAT much. It almost seems weird thinking about it. I'm not one of these over-the-top fans who go to conventions, dress up for the film, fight with lightsabers on the streets and make a point to have every item in their house say 'Star Wars' on it. I think I'm a pretty normal person: I go to Law school, I have an active social life, I used to have a steady gf (dumb slut)....but when it comes down to it, I'm excited every day to see or hear something new about Episode 3 and talk with people about the movies.

For everyone here that has donated to my experience, every person who made me excited to log on to MF, I thank you. This has been an amazing ride for me, no matter how many times I've had to hear from people how much Episodes 1 and 2 sucked balls.

It's been one hell of a ride, indeed.

Thanks to Gus Lopez, Josh Ling, Chris Georgoulias, Jason Geyer and the rest of the now-uber-collectors for the early days in 1990 on rec.arts.sf when the web was a baby and all we had to do was bounce e-mail and talk about the films. Also to all the local cats on the central New York bulletin boards in the mid-1980's...dialing up on 300-baud modems just to chat Star Wars.

...and of course a big thanks to George for unlocking my imagination when I was 5 years old.

Here here to that one... things have come a long way from the days of the zines of Mr. Adam Pawlus, Alec Ustike, and the crew. It's amazing how information traveled then to where we are now (and a lot of that old crew still lurking about, or even working over on the OS).

I know I'm one of the newer guys around here but I'd like to send out a thanks to those guys for keeping the interest alive when "prequel" let alone "prequel spoilers" weren't even in our dictionaries.

And in turn, special thanks to the cats around here Tern, IU, Darthpsychotic, Spoilerrific for maintaining this place as the mecca for us junkies both frequent and infrequent. And for putting their shit on the line for the cause. I wish I would have been involved and engaged earlier, next time I won't be so bull headed in trying to stay spoiler free...

And there will be a next time...

Wheres everyone going. I'm ready for more spoilers. hopefully we'll have a TV series on the way, then we can all go back into full force... people can start wrongfully claiming they've seen the episodes, and we'll all be happy again

To everyone that helped spoil: A massive 'thankyou!'

Special thanks to:

DP (for having the balls to make this the best SW site on the web)
Tern (spoiler reports gave me something to look forward to after work)
'Riffic (great, great images)

and finally extra special thanks goes to...

George Lucas, cos without him none of us would be here. :)

Many thanks to Darthy, Sith Interceptor, Ternian and all the other spies who teased us with spoilers over the years.

I found TFN when I first got online in late 1998, and have enjoyed every up and down of the ride ever since. It's amazing to think of how long a time period the OT seemed to span of my childhood, and now here we are, ready to complete that same journey in our adulthood with the PT. It's almost overwhelming, really.

And yes, HUGE thank yous go out to George Lucas, John Williams, all the actors, effects people and those behind the scenes who have crafted these wonderful films. They have provided me an escape from the often shitty real world more times than I can count. I thank you.

The last 4.5 years has been some of the most fun of my life. I've met a ton of great people, and I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work at Episode-X, when it was still alive, and also to be a mod at the OS.

It's been a fun ride, and one that, with spoilers or not, is probably going to end for me, since I mainly a movie guy and don't care much for the EU. Hopefully I'll still be keeping in touch with many of you, though. There's always OpSom... not much Star Wars there.

What a trip it's been. Mad props to MF.com for being the first to get the good stuff, without much of the BS that other sites have.

I didn't get into the whole spoiler game until after Episode II had started filming. I certainly tried to keep up to date on all the happening buts once I stumbled across the two sets of leaked storyboards it was full speed ahead with the spoiler ride. It definetely has been a ride that's ranged from fun, interesting, wierd, shocking and everything inbetween. But it was always pretty exciting.

The first guy I would thank would obviously have to be George Lucas. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't be wasting out time discussing, disecting or nitpicking on an internet message board. Well, we would but just not about SW.

Thanks to Sith Interceptor, Perfect Dark, Ternian, Ewok Pudu, Spoileriffic, Hard Copy and all the many other insiders I'm sure I'm forgetting for providing us with info. Without them, we would have no knowledge of the spoilers.

There's been a number of folks I've enjoyed hearing from. Off the top of my memory I'd like to shout out to: darthpyscotic, Ternian, Foxbat, Vanda, BobtheGoon, CoGro, Benovite, and many others I know I'm forgetting. It's been fun discussing SW with all of you. Cheers. Thanks to all the fansites, TFN, Aldera, MF.com, Jedinet, T-Bone's, and OriginalTrilogy.com

Just a month and change left to go now. Hope ROTS is everything we're hoping it is. Can't wait until opening night to partake in the madness one more time!

Well, as "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" first hit the screens so many years ago. Like most people I was hooked from the get go. Now that the end is near, I can't help but feel sad. I have spent the last few months visiting MF to get the spoiler fix I need... I would also like to take this time to thank all of the posters in this forum for the info and pics. Great job ya'll. I had my doubts about EP III, untill I came to this site. Now once again I look forward to seeing Starwars.

Cheers! :heavymetal:

I would like to say Thank You to all these great fans who have helped make this happen & kept it going strong. Never anywhere else on the web have I experienced more great SW knowledge & dedication than this site. Even though I have been a member for only a short time, I feel honored to have been a small part in this great thing we have created.

My thanks to DP, Tern, SI, 'riffic, Cogro, & everyone else who has provided me a much needed break from my everyday grind. If SW wasnt part of my life, I would hate to think of what I would be doing instead.

Now thats done so lets keep going til we have nothing left to post about.

It has indeed, been one hell of a ride guys...much thanks goes out to everyone who has gotten us any insider info or contributed well thought out posts, even if I disagreed with them...and special thanks to DP for MF.com and all the other great stuff he has brought us over the years. I've been trying to leave the spoiler game as of late...it's been tough because I really enjoy it, but I'm starting to reach a level of spoiled that's making me uncomfortable.

Here's to a kickass ending to the saga on May 19 :heavymetal:

I spent my free day yesterday with my drummer, listening to the audio book, scanning the graphic novel, and looking through my children’s book that consolidates the prequels into one huge story. It’s pretty funny to me that in my hand I hold the source of thousands upon thousands of day dreams and internet bickering and discussion. I can’t help but imagine having a time machine and passing these things to myself in 1997, when all this junk really kicked off.

I remember my first day on the internet in 1997. The first site I found was a site that was called “Red 5,” I believe. He had inside sources and some other junk. It was sort of funny, I remember the Star Wars Page at Texas A&M becoming theForce.net. I watched as AICN brought its first real prequel news. The rise and fall of Episode-X and then finally the nice community of Star Wars fans on the Chud boards came into being and then finally the MF.com (I love em’ both equally). While I couldn’t be bothered dealing with the bullshit of the former sites, I didn’t bother to actively participate in the Star Wars online community until Chud and MF came along, offering a solid alternative to the tomfoolery of other sites. I’m not kissing asses here, but this is a circle jerk thread.

I’m pretty glad it’s over though. It’s almost been a fucking addiction. I’m hoping the TV show is cool and it will be enough that I can get online and see most of the same folks that I have been seeing for years, only on a smaller scale and with less frequency.

One last thing: Agent Smith, go fuck your self. The Matrix and Lord of the Rings are boring.

As long as the stroke-a-thon is in session...

Let's give DP and the rest of MF credit for providing a safe haven for all of us that left TFN of our own free will. Freedom from fucking clone theories, saber color discussions, and other childish bullshit.

I've always considered all of you here at MF "true" fans that have a love for the saga that goes beyond the special effects and glitz and glam. More a love for the story and universe that Lucas has provided.

Here's to MillenniumFalcon.com as the New Republic to TFN's evil Empire.

All of you have made the last wait worthwhile. I know the ride's not over yet; but, it's close enough to look back on the good times.

*Also, thanks to Lucas. His imagination has made all of this possible.

The past several years have been a hell of a ride. It seems so long ago that I was running to the books store the get Heir to the Empire book, along with the other 2 books of the first Zahn trilogy, as it was the first new Star Wars story to take place after ROTJ. Then there were the rumors of a new set of prequels, combined with the growing internet community, which gave birth to spoiler forums, which I have read every step of the way.

Over the years, starting with TheForce.Net back when we were all clamoring for any news abouth the untitled Episode 1, the people that have ran these websites have given all of us a much needed outlet to let our need to know every tidbit of news be satisfied. Along the way, there have been websites that have gave us the chance to learn "spoilers" that were not a part of mainstream news, and as a collective community we took every update, rumor, or insider information and spent hours posting in forums about the latest "spoiler".

The path over the past several years have taken us from TFN, to Jedinet, T'bone, Aldera.net, Aint it Cool, Episode-X, Chud, and then finally to here. Each site has contributed in some way since 1997, and even though there may be ill feelings towards some of these sites now, they each played a roll in the spoiler game at some time, and for that, they deserve the thanks for making the past several years as exciting a time for a Star Wars fan as there will ever be. There are some sites that I may have missed that you may have visited over the years that should also be remembered in this circle jerk of thanks (not including SS (posting from year 1998)).

To the individuals that ran these websites:

MF
TFN
T'Bone
Jedinet
Aldera.net
Episode-X
Chud

In this little corner of cyberspace, I thank you for providing a portal to allow us to learn news of of favorite saga and discuss them with the fans that were as eager to discuss the latest rumor to hit the 'net.

And to the members of Star Wars comminity boards, thank you for allowing me to mostly read your opinions and occasionally throw in my 2 cents.

Last, to the people here, on MF, thank you for taking the Star Wars fansite to the next level. From the time you all posted on Episode-X and formed MF after Episode 2, you all have brought a take no prisioners, leave the bullshit out, and only contribute if you have something worthwhile to say attitude and making these boards the epicenter of the true Star Wars fan activity. Lets hope there is enough random Star Wars shit to keep this site around long after Episode 3 and the TV show are history.

Thanks for making the spoiler run for ROTS an amazing ride!

Yes, it's been one hell of a ride. Sometimes fun, sometimes frustrating, often infuriating, but never boring. I started chasing spoilers in 2001, and don't regret it for a second. Long-ass debates have been had, great spoilerage gold has been uncovered, and a friendship or two have been struck, and hey, warts and all, the films have been pretty fucking good. Good times all around.

Cheers are due to a great many people, and I apologize ahead of time to those I accidentally leave out:

First and foremost, to the sheep chumps at the Home Theater Forum, for showing me that sane, rational, and mature Star Wars fans still exist: Casey Trowbridge, Ernest Rister, Richard Kim, Tim Glover, Gary Dee, Brandon T, Marvin Richardson, Dan Brecher, Chuck Mayer, Adam Lenhart, Brent Madden, Paul Scott (love to hate ya, man), Doug Irving, Terrell (I know you lurk, you bastard ;)), CraigL, mark Walker, Chris Atkins, Greg S-H, and a few others.

To the awesome crew at mf.com, for being what tfn should have been: A hive of scum and villainy, but FUN scum and villainy ;) I joined the site late in the game, but my time here has been a blast nonetheless. Special mention to Darthy for the priceless days of INTERNET DRAMA (tm) at tfn :heavymetal:

To the few worthwhile people at tfn, who made the site bearable, and even enjoyable: PadmeBra, Vertical, LMM, Darthy, Al, Quixotic Sith, SI, BithySith and the LOTR fangirls, and a few others.

And now that I'm done making an ass of myself with this Halle Berry-esque thank you list, I'll remind us that we do still have one last hurrah to come, don't we? Early copy of the ROTS DVD leaks, lightsabers look like bubblegum, all hell breaks loose ;)

It's weird. This thread has made me look back at me and the internet over the years since the prequel stuff started - hell, I even got the internet because I wanted info on the prequels and the SEs.

It's odd thinking back to when EP1 didn't have a title (unbelievable that I made this little thing here seven years ago), when I had to wait an agonizing TWO MONTHS for TPM because of the British release date, and when everyone was hating on DiCaprio because it seemed a foregone conclusion he would be Anakin.

Have a bitchin' summer.

I just found MF.com last year and I want to say what great fun it is, and also what a wonderful release it is as well, to be able to say "fuck," "shit," "superfriend," "cunt," "asshole" and "loser sheep" on a Star Wars board without getting censored or banned!

:chewbacca: THANKS! :chewbacca:

I've lurked with MF.com since the DarthFirst Update Days of the OT on DVD. The resources and insights that this site has given life to have simply amazed me and made me more excited for the OT DVD's and ROTS more than ever. Hell I was reading the comic scans today and got all teared up at the scenes of Jedi being turned on.

To all the sources in the field, I salute you for your overtime in the office, to driving in the pouring rain to get us the spoils we want. You have made me proud. I would have never found this 'new hope' for StarWars and a legacy such as this one anywhere at TFN or TBone.

To the scrillas of MF.com, :heavymetal:

I want my PussyMagnet T-shirt! :)

Let me get in on the jerkin action here.

This board has been the place to be in anticipation for Episode III. The discussions, spoiling seasons, debate and other shit was a blast. Thanks for wasting so much of my time.

I won't miss the teasing style release of spoilers or the occasional onslaught of dumbasses. I'm glad the speculation is over because the movie is almost near.

But it's been a fun ride.

Yet another long time lurker and first-time poster.

I've never had much of a reason to chime in with my "nub" opinion, but have been content to sit back and watch all the spoilers unfold, the shirts come off ;) , and the last movie being more anticipated than the return of Jesus C himself. Thanks to everyone who brought us the goods and keep em coming we aren't done yet.

Wow, this thread is making me all misty. It certainly has been some interesting 7 years.. I found out about TFN back then from a magazine, and visited it on my school computer.. I didn't have internet back then.. wow, this all started in the dark ages!

I remember loving Star Wars from VHS tapes since I was little.. we had ANH, and my Mom wanted me to see them all in order, but the night we were supposed to watch ESB, she somehow lost that and RotJ.. and I remember it being murder to wait, and I finally saw RotJ on TV, without having seen ESB.. I was really confused as to what Carbonite was, and to where this token black guy came from.. but I still loved it. I taped RotJ and watched it dozens of times.. I was especially addicted to all the Jabba parts. Finally we got ESB, and I remember being totally blown away by the power of it, and I was a bonafied fan for lots of years.. Finally, it started to fade in me a little bit, as there are only so many times you can watch the same old crappy VHS tapes, one of which was recorded off TBS or something.

But then there was the theatrical re-release in '97, and my fate was sealed. I was addicted to every bit of prequel information I could find, I rewatched that Leonard Maltin interview on the '96 VHS tapes over and over for the tantalizing bits George dropped about the Prequels. So, already addicted, when I discovered TFN it was all over. It didn't take long for me to branch out and find other websites, but that was where it started. I remember dling the teaser on my friend's computer and trying to take it to my home computer on floppy disks, pre-internet. I remember saving every picture I could find and organizing them into a visual outline of the film like what is on this website right now.

I camped out in line for Episode I, saw the midnight show and then the 3 am, and had the best time of my life. Then in between Episode I and II, we finally moved into the 21st century and got internet, and I was really able to obsess.. I started the "Episode II Line by Line" thread sometime in '99 way before we actually knew anything about the story beyond the leaked storyboards of a Jango Fett fight in the rain and an arena with something called a reek.. As I recall, our screenplay featured quite a bit of Boss Nass, for some god-forsaken reason. But it was good times. Of course, I eventually got banned from TFN, as do all of their good members and, thoroughly burned out and I think suffering PTS from a couple years of basher/gusher wars, I decided I was done with messageboards for a while, and I just lurked and gathered spoilers for myself.. until recently.

The stuff that has been leaking on this site and others has been just so staggeringly amazing, that I get chills down my spine once or twice a week. I nearly cried just from reading some sketchy spoiler report about Padme's death scene. I'm nearly flipping out for April 2nd and, come May 19th, we will be treated with the perfect cap to one awesomely memorable 8 years: the best damn Star Wars episode ever.

Thanks to all you guys, even the ones who hate me or the ones who don't have the first clue who I am (Probably the majority of you) And most importantly of all:

THANK YOU GEORGE LUCAS

Once I have downloaded the entire Graphic Novel , it hit me that its the end . The spoiler network has reached its closure. I can't help but recall the countless nights of searching and waiting for spoilers in this site .

However, every good thing must come to an end . There are heroes everywhere , and villains too . I will never forget the anticipation and the adrenaline rush when new spoilers arrive.

Thank you to all those mentioned in the first post of this thread.

Thank you for making life fun and colourful...

Btw , I am a school teacher and during my lessons , I also talk about Star Wars sometimes to make the lessons exciting and I can see them growing to like Star Wars.

Cheers to the heroes , and to us all !!! :) ;) :heavymetal:

It's over? All ready?

I'm only 15 and my Star Wars career started abruptly and will most likely end abruptly. Even so, it really has been a lot of fun. And as cliché as it sounds, these boards is the only place I can actually feel accepted. The people here are so refreshing compared to the boring monotonous high school folk I see everyday. I've taught many of my schoolmates about Star Wars using these boards as reference and I've gotten about 7 kids to say, "I need to watch those movies again."

And there's nothing better than sitting down after a long day of school and sifting through the topics and enjoying the great conversations we have here, including the :gb2tfn: s and everything.

Thanks, everyone!

As long as we're getting all sentimental, I wanted to relate something weird that happened to me last week. I watched TPM on DVD for the first time in a long while (and that includes all the times I didn't really watch it but just had it playing in the background while I did something else) and the first thing that struck me was just how gorgeous the picture was. It's something that we should probably be used to by now, but I was still stunned anyway by how rich the color was, how sharp the details. And it's not like I have an awesome home theater system. In fact, my DVD player is a $40 Cyberhome model.

The second thing that struck me (the WEIRD thing) is that I could not stop laughing at Jar Jar.

I've NEVER found him funny before. I always thought he was horribly mishandled and badly performed. So I don't know what happened. There was just something about that incredible blank look of stupidity on his face that really worked for me this time. It was like Lucas was there to say to me, "look, the story behind Jar Jar is that he's just a stupid dick." He's not the childlike goofball that everyone misunderstands, who comes out like a hero in the end; no, he remains a dick. He's the one character in the whole saga who steps in shit. He's the one character who catches the only fart in the whole saga right in the face. He gets made General by Boss Nass and you can tell it's because Nass hopes he'll be killed. Even C-3PO doesn't respect him. Everyone understands him just fine, and everyone thinks he's a dick.

This really raised TPM (which I already liked a lot anyway) in my estimation. And I'll flatly deny it if anyone ever brings it up again.

Just my two cents, but thanks to everyone who put in all this work so phuckers like me (who simply read message boards, never contribute and always want the spoilers/goodies) could actually satisfy their Prequels itch. It is, and always has been, appreciated.

I thank all of you for all your efforts and wish everyone the best.

It's been fun and much like high school or junior high or the old school years before that, for me these days will be looked upon with fondness and most likely a yearning to return to these days. Does that make any sense? I dunno, regardless, Star Wars and the internet have forged this fellowship, this ring and.. no wait, wrong analogy for this franchise.

Back when the only forum I frequented was the JC, the first forum really, there was a large group of people that I threw myself in with. People with weird names so I chose an equally weird name that was part Sith(Lord), part hip hop(Mauly from DJ Marley Marl)...and part places I used loiter in a lot(the mall). It didn't take too long for a great schizm to occur, fracturing the JC into various splinter cells of Star Wars fan sites. I resisted most of the new places, but eventually Episode X was the one I gravitated towards after an extended episode at the JC totally disgusted me. I became Benovite(a name originating from an old Benny Hill sketch), the guy who had the unique habit of stuffing his balls up women's asses. Hey I thought it was funny. I mean actually stuffing your balls in a woman's ass? The logistics of that are mind blowing! So at Ep-X I would expound on the virtues and explain the technique of stuffing my balls in a woman's ass. Or I would post Hyperspace chat transcripts with my own wicked twist to them. Anyway you had to be there.

Darth Psychotic told me that he was making a new forum called MF, and to tell you the truth at first I was skeptical. I mean why keep on splintering and breaking down the larger body that was the online Star Wars fanbase? But of course I became a part of it and MF grew and grew. Where once Ep-X was the cool alternative to the JC, MF soon took over that role and thanks to some smart folks behind the scenes, it flourished. If MF was a publically traded stock it would be selling at the highest price right now. The little upstart that earned and overtook the traditional blue chips after the JC became stale and bogged down with limitations and rules because of an alliance with LFL.

It didn't take me long to understand why MF was a good idea. Just as we all grow up(?) and move out of our parents homes; people like Ternian, Sevaan, Koreynl, and DP either through their own decision... or one made for them ;) venture out and either explore other sites, forums and/or start news ones. It's that spirit that moves the fanbase forward and helps it to evolve. Granted, there have been a high number of websites and message boards started by people with the best of intentions that have floundered for one reason or another. Not everything will succeed, but the important part was trying.

I myself will try to find a new home again. For me Episode 3 will not only mark the end of the Star Wars saga, but the end of my long stay in the U.S. I saw the first Star Wars movie in Australia back in 1977 and after Revenge of the Sith opens l'll board a plane and take off like at the end of another Lucas movie, American Graffiti or for that matter at the end of Episode 3 when the characters go their own separate ways to face their destiny. Who knows, it might come full circle for me and I might catch Episode 3 again in Australia!

Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the good times. Whether it's the vets like Ternian, SI, DP and countless others or people like gbone & Dark Shape that are relatively new members but go the extra mile for all of us. There are tons of people that have helped make the Star Wars fan experience over the years a fun or at least interesting one. Too many to name and too many to remember. So if you've been around the JC, HTF, EpX or MF forums for more than a few months, chances are we've enountered each other either directly or merely seen each others posts. From vets to newbies, lurkers to posters; you've either helped make it happen or watched it unfold. Thanks for adding the color and the character... and see ya around!

Well said. I actually find TPM to be more satisfying as a "Star Wars" film than AOTC. As far as your assessment of Jar Jar, I couldn't agree more. It's clear that he was only intended to be liked by 10 yeaar olds. I think Lucas WANTED the older audence to be annoyed by him. (god I hope so....)

I was a long time lurker around here that eventually decided if im gonna eat up your guys bandwidth should at least do it where im logged in and can communicate and not just be some moocher.

Give Props to everyone who has made the run upto the movies alot of fun. The Community here is much more at ease and looking out for each other as fans. Once i got Access to the Audiobook for Episode 3 it wasnt very hard to decide what Place was going to recieve it before anyone else.

Things are gonna quiet down with the End of the movies but im sure there will still be some fun be it from the TV show or whatever else the guys at Lucas's many companies decide.

The Community here for the most part are mature Star Wars Fans who appreciate Star Wars for what it is. Too many at other places will bitch and whine cause Star Wars isnt how thier minds want it. Its refreshing to have a place where while not everything may be liked but it doesnt turn into a total bitch fest.

Salute you all :heavymetal:

I felt this was maybe the proper place to mention how far back my love of spoilers goes - to being ten years old and reading the ROTJ storybook in its entirety before the film came out later that week. I love that I've now read the ROTS graphic novel weeks in advance, and will be listening to what I could grab of the audio book on plane trips next week.

Does anyone remember waaaay back in 1983 when it was leaked (intentionally I think) to the press that either Luke or Vader would die in ROTJ? I remember thinking it had to be Luke, since there was still supposed to be Ep 7-9, and how could the story go on without the main villain?

This all of course makes me quite old enough to remember the earliest PT net rumors. I dug up this one from TFN of days gone by:

Spy Report: 7/24/97 - The designers at ILM have been working on final designs for MANY DIFFERENT Dark Sith Lords. Apparently the recurring theme is that of the Darth Vader-style helmet. They all seem to have the same curved helmet with different masks and space-suits/uniforms. There are 12 different designs for 12 distinctly different characters. These 12 sith lords might possibly correspond to the rumor about the 12 Yodas. From what my source has been able to tell, these 12 sith lords are kind of the guardians of the force. The "Supreme Court" of the Jedi, if you will. They act as a panel that regulates the Jedi and punishes dark Jedi. These Sith Lord costumes are merely uniforms; not mechanical prosthetics as in Vader's case."

Thanks to so many for taking the time to pass on things and making it a fun adventure. Spoilers are like a fun mystery we get to unravel for months, far beyond just the admitted high point - the two hours in the theater.

It has indeed been a hell of a ride. Kinda sad that it's all coming to an end.

Might see you cats later this year with an early ROTS DVD posting or two...

Peace out

I think the thing I will miss the most about all of this is reading the ridiculous theories that people have come up with over the years..you know Dooku is Anakins father, palpatine made Anakin out ofmidichlorians, Palpatine secretly raped Anakins mom and made him. I could go on and on.

But the thing is I dont think it will really be over. I mean even though Lucas said there will be no Episode 7,there are fans out there that will never let Star Wars go,so there will be never ending speculation about Episdode 7,and then theres this ridiculous tv show I keep on hearing about.

Personally I hope it never happens, because I think it will be awful..but there are people over at the OS that really want this to happen possibly because they didnt grow up in the 80's and remember the dark times of star wars. Well I would just like to say that the past 4 years have been fun and I am glsd that they happened

its funny.. whenever i hear abotu the midichlorians being used to create life (the darth plagueis reference) i think of anakin..

i only wish that joseph campbell would have been alive to tell lucas that there was a reason he focused his research on pre-christian hero mythology...

even when the gods sprang out of somebody's forehead.. they had a father and a mother.. why would luke be so great if he onyl had two human parents anyways?
