The new Insider #75 has General Grievous on the cover. :monocle:

Benovite's reconstruction of you know who's picture

The issue is said to contain a four page spread about Episode III. :heavymetal:

But he is going to have it on throughout the movie, TM.

I think it's meant to give him a "Vader-like" quality.

Something to add

In addition to an eight-page Prequel Update, our cover story is a four-page Episode III feature that reveals a surprising amount of information about Grievous.

Looking like a big issue. :heavymetal: :chewbacca:

I went ahead and embedded the picture.

A CGI lightsaber wielding alien cyborg, who is supposed to foreshadow Vader: :x

That said, I'll take all of the Grievous pix I can get

Much, much, much better than the Clone Wars picture.

Man, now i'm even more jazzed about episode 3.

Bah. Cyborg Vader had three whole movies to shine, and shine he did.

I alway look forward to the new stuff in these films.

The green in Grievous's chest area appears to be fluid. We know from Pudu that Obiwan kills Grievous via a blaster in the chest area.

Icky.

cant wait to see him in action, pabs said he is yet to have the final paint job applied so he will probably be a bit more battle scarred/weathered in the final version but he does look cooler every time i see him! remember the original vrml of the dewback on the official site way back in the mid 90's? they should do an updated 3d flyaround vr of the general in a walkcycle! :heavymetal:

Cam-Gon Jinn (X-Boards) noticed that as well.

I said over there that they must serve some function.

I will say that some people around the net have been asking some interesting questions about Grievous like...

Why can’t Jedi just “Force-push” Grievous like they do to battle droids?

Couldn’t Obi-Wan (In Episode III, he's a Jedi Master) just “Force-pull” Grievous apart from a moderate distance?

And what‘s so tough about the henchmen? Why not just toss them aside like bowling pins?

Hmmm....

Isn't it like...difficult to use the Force during combat?
It's like asking why didn't Obi-Wan just do the crazy super-speed thing to get through the laser-lock doors in Ep1.
Why didn't didn't Qui-Gon do a super jump out of the way of Mauls saber?
Why doesn't Dooku keep the lightning up while he's fighting Yoda?

my thoughts too the same could be said for jango too(as he defintely had no jedi powers) probably boils down to the fact that it would be a crap story if GG builds his part then obi wan walks in and just flicks his wrist and GG goes bye bye ala raiders sword wielder(i know, i know, its how i ends anyway!)

Maul Force-pushes away Obi-Wan.

Dooku Force-pushes away Anakin.

Someone had a decent reason for this but I can't remember what it was.

There was no way for him to do that. He had just been smashed in the face by the handle. He's still hurting from that shot when Maul reverses his saber and lands the kill shot.

Insert Username wrote:

Because unlike a young Anakin, Dooku quickly realizes that Yoda will continue to parry it. It end up being wasted energy on his (Dooku's) part.

I had no problem with Jango in the sense that as Obi approached, Jango gave ground and flew away.

He then fired a missile which had to daze Kenobi. Then, Boba fires laser cannons at him. He's wet. It's dark. Jango swoops down out of the sky from nowhere and drops him on his ass.

He throws a few shots and kicks. No biggie. He's trying to get Jango off so he can get back his saber.

When Jango sees this, that's when he fires the cable and drags Kenobi around. After Jango loses his jetpack, Kenobi closes in.

Yes, he could have tried to Force-push him over the side, but he decided to kick him. Judgment call.

As for Grievous, there could be reasons why he is safe from this type of attack. Perhaps some sort of shielding. Maybe he's Force sensitive. Who knows?

I was simply saying that it does raise some interesting points.

Meh...I dunno.
Maybe it's harder to focus it quickly or something unless you're Dooku/Yoda/Palpatine level.
I guess even Vader keeps throwing boxes and stuff at Luke on Cloud City when they're dueling.

clutching at straws here but....
if u take his white body armour bits (torso only) just the white bits, does this resemble an insignia from one of the costumes(i cant think which, but might have been on boba's costume somewhere?)

thats the one! didnt want to say mandalorian just incase it wasnt! and i got shot down in flames!
slightly similar but probably only in my head! his armour also resembles the visor gaps on the mandalorian armour!
though as we saw in the doc. lucas just looked at some designs and said he will do! so there is no backstory and known alien behind the armour unless they build it around the finished article!

I may be talking out of my ass here, but has any light side character ever used a force push on a living creature?

Yeah it happens to droids, and anakin with his darkside tendencies smashed a bunch of Geonosians with debris, but none of the "good jedi" have ever used their powers offensively on sentient creatures in the films.

The only exception would be mind tricks and Lukes Gammorean choking in ROTJ.

Maybe it's against the jedi code to use the force to harm sentient creatures.

Then again, maybe he just wants to set up some cool fight scenes that dont always end in two seconds with a force trip.

Like I said, save it.

DP probably saved it and will upload it onto the server for others to see.

I hope.

Don't laugh, Zyg. That wouldn't be such a bad idea.

See, I have two problems with the Grievous character:

Who or what the hell is he?
How can he use sabers successfully against skilled Jedi?

In episode twenty of the cartoon, he is going to kill a number of Jedi Knights! How?

At least if he were the remnants of Maul or Fett, we'd know something about him.

Instead, you get this powerful and moderately important character appear out of nowhere.

It's kind of ridiculous.

Well, in AOTC no one knew the separatists even had an army until Obi Wan uncovers it.

Even then, Geonosis was simply a manufacturing site. The droids were made there, it wasn't neccessarily a staging area. The bulk of the separatist forces were probably massing elsewhere for a "surprise attack" on the republic.

I dont think its a big stretch that the army would have a general we hadn't seen before.

Then again, I dont really sweat the small stuff in these films. As long as they have space ships, laser swords, and a cool soundtrack, I'm a happy camper.

BTW: Sorry for the confusion Zygster, but I assure you I'm not you. I mean just because we both joined this forum at the same time, have never been seen together, and are part of an underground fight club for disaffected twenty-something men doesn't mean anything.

or does it?

I remember toochilled made some veiled hints that it was Jango's head/brain inside that Grevious shell. Interesting concept, it's almost mean that Jango Fett was as much a source for the clones as he was for the technology responsible for Vader's continued survival.

In terms of fighting on a level with the Jedi, I guess it could easily be put down to the fact that Dooku had a hand in programming some kind of lightsaber dueling stuff into him.

Or something.... :?

Man this guy is getting worse and worse. At first it was he was cool but thinking about it unless he's done just right it does have the potential to be retarded on a major scale. Will he be part of the trailers? Or is Lucas just going to dump him in the movie and unless someones been paying attention to spoilers will never have seen him before?

Well in this Clone Wars review ( http://www.genreonline.net/Clone_Wars_P ... twork.html ), the reviewer said:

He can easily fight with three light sabers and still be a threat with his remaining free limb.

And the Clone Wars drawing doesn't seem to show room for two hidden arms.

Check out his right hand in that comic-looking pic.
The thick black line down the back of it looks to me like it divides the hand squarely down the middle.

It'll probably be the double-ender moment of Ep3 that Maul had in TPM when he sparks it up in the opening doorway to the hangar.

you beat me to it! i bet its the last shot of the teaser trailer the four arms open up and all ignite sabers and obi wan does the "bring it on/kung fu" pose that was in the back in black vid
you can see where the arms split most clearly in the insider cover im still stoked on the general! i know he will be a throwaway character and serve no purpose other than obi wans fodder but i like it! the full CG version should be great i think its the eyes and the flesh that will do it! and if the mask does crack open ala willow i think the many kids in the audience will be needing new "jar jar under roo's"!

In the Clone Wars mini-cartoons/commercials Grievous only has two arms that don't split AT ALL.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to reveal this but since theforce.net and other sites are "reviewing" the Clone Wars minin-cartoons/commercials, it should be alright.

A source, who I will call FettPsychotic describes Clone Wars Grievous like this:
Grievous wields 3 lightsabers at one time...

    * 2 lightsabers with both arms, 1 in each hand/claw.
    * 1 lightsaber is being wielded with Grievous's foot/claw.

Grievous is able to spin his torso around like a helicopter, while wielding 2 lightsabers.

Grievous, while wielding 2 lightsabers, is able to spin his hands/claws around like a windmill fan.

Grievous is more of alien animal, than alien humanoid, and perhaps growls.
(I'm thinking Lucas watched one too many Beast Wars cartoons.)

Grievous's rib cage expands open as indicated by that high resolution Clone War network picture from ToonZone.

Grievous's voice *was* heard during that Cartoon Network commerical:
...I will grant you a warrior's death or some such.

Grievous pounces on the Jedi and "claws" the shit out of them.

Grievous kills a shitload of Jedi.

fettpsychotic drawed up some art on what Grievous looks like with 3 sabers, based upon what he saw in the last Clone Wars episode.

Then there is Grievous's "footsaber" :?

So, when his torso rotates, does his head spin around with it?

Grievous's "footsaber" sticks out to the side

He stands like a flamingo?
