Great info on the Sith there.

But which way is it?
"Darth Sidious isn't worried about any Jedi who managed to survive Order 66." - "Sidious has one more task to perform before his conquest is complete: to kill Yoda."

Does he just alter his plan when Yoda managed to escape?

Or does Sidious consider Yoda dead after their duel?

That would explain the exchange between Vader and Tarkin on the DS I: "He is here..." - "Obi-Wan Kenobi!" and not alternatively "Master Yoda!".

But then again, wasn't Yoda spotted by Clonetroopers and hunted down in Bail Organa's speeder?

We'll see...

Oh my gosh!
That crouching Grievous picture is AWESOME, too bad his elbow is cut off and there's a seam in his cloak between pages.

Thanks for the scans! The visual dictionaries and cross sections are my favorite movie-related books.

Am I on crack or did I see a headline on the Official Site the other day that talked about collecting all of the books into a single edition (one for visual, one for cross-sections)?

If so, does anyone know if it will include anything the individual books don't?

We now know how Palpatine gets his wrinkles. Its sith lightening reflected back at him by Mace Windu.

"there's a painting of a legendary battle btween sith and jedi on his wall?"

It doesn't mean anything. If a US President had a painting depicting the Revolutionary War, does that mean he sides with the British?

Well, i think we can safely say Palpatine's face has ALWAYS looked like that, but somehow mace's actions reveal him. Maybe he has limited powers and having to use and deflect the lightning drains his powers meaning he can no longer keep up his "Sith Shroud" as i like to call it. This assumes its not a physical disguise, more that palpatine clouds the minds of the jedi etc.

Sounds great to me.. :heavymetal:

Yeah, that's what it says in the Sidious pic: that his "true face is revealed."

I was hoping that was the case, not that he is somehow scarred by the lightning, but rather that this is the way he really looks. He's unmasked, not injured.

The caption by his face seems to say, "Face deformed [by] Sith lightning."

"Deformed" means "To spoil the natural form of". You'd think they would learn to write these to make it clear. I'm guessing the captions can be misleading because they need to be short.

Yeah, I was just a bit worried when I read "Face deformed by Sith lightning". I guess it means over many years rather than in Episode 3!

That or the book contradicts itself. It clearly says "Unmasked by deflected Sith lightning... his true face is revealed to the world..."

I think Zidious is right. It's just that the side caption needs to be short. But still, "unmasked" doesn't take up any more room on the page than "deformed."

Well it also says his face turns yellow with anger which is a bit weird. Like a yellow hulk only more wrinkly. The hulk's old yellow granddad or something. I suspect that the VD people (heh) have to form their text from limited information.

Dogg.

Edit: Poxy photobucket.

I thought the statement in the upper right corner of one of the Gen. Grevious pages was interesting. Something to the fact is it is thought that Sidious might have arranged for the shuttle to crash.

Wondering...maybe at some earlier point, Sidious was looking for a replacement for Tyrranus, before Anakin. He finds Greivous, arranges to have him convienently hurt to enhance him, gets Tyrannus to train him so he could become the next apprentice, then some situation presents itself that allows Sidious to see Grievous doesn't meet the par, and he then focus' his attention to Anakin. In time Sidious then arranges Anakin's fat by having him have a calclated run in with Obi-wan on Mustafar.

Greivous...a failed Vadar? Darth Greivous?

HARPER :what:

It's a possibility, but I don't think it's very likely. Remember that Sidious is disatissfied with Vader, when he's put back together as a half-man half-machine monstrosity; why would he intentionally let this happen to Grievous in order to 'enhance' him and use him as a new apprentice.

Also, Sidious has been keeping his eye on Skywalker practically all his life, waiting for the right moment to turn him. It's more likely that he already had him in mind for Dooku's replacement at the time of AOTC. Allowing Anakin to see how it is possible for a Jedi to see the flaws in the Republic and abandon the Jedi order, and also showing him that a Jedi can find a greater power in the Dark Side. You have to remember that Sidious has everything going his way in a long-winded plan that he's been working on for many years.

I think he just saw Grievous as a nifty little Jedi killing machine that he could use to severely hamper the order in the run up to his rise as Emperor, so there would be fewer left to oppose him.

I've always found the Visual Dictionaries to be hilarious in how reaching they get with their labels. The one with pregnant padme is just hilarious.

Also imageshack just loves to delete Star Wars images, so please stop using it.

HMMM The two Palpatine/Sidious pages seem to sort of contradict themselves. One says that his face changes because of Force Lightning, thent he other says 'Face has turned yellow in anger". HMMM.

We need the rest of the pages with text!!!

Updated intital post with fresh links. Take note I made a few alterations...

- "Anakin's love glove" scan was combined with the "Anakin's Utility Pouch scans"
- Can-cell was cropped into a new image
- Mustafar Lave Flea scan was enlarged and sharpened.

As good as McDiarmid is, I can't get over how stupid he looks in all the photos when he's in make-up. He looks like some fat guy at a convention in a fan made costume.

The couple of shots in the trailers seem to look alright, but... geez. Wrinkled I get, but why he looks so fat is beyond me.

I can't seem to access it anymore, but on the page with the Grievous scan there looked to me like a shot in Palpatine's office?

Did anyone manage to make this out - and if it was connected to Grievous?

It was on the bottom right of the scan - with what looked like a figure I couldn't make out in the foreground, and the familiar red office decor in the back.

:monocle:

That's just a closeup of GG's lightsabre collection, the background is the red interior of his cape thingy.

BTW,

I just got back from Wal-Mart on an unrelated errand, and they have all the lego shit, the new Jedi Starfighter, and the Clonewars figures all in stock on the floor. I bought that Kaminoan Sith character. I figured it would be the most "collectable."

His facial texture is due to his injury, his facial color must change according to mood, yellow, possibly because of messed of blood vessels?

I knew the Red Guards only had one armhole in ROTS, which means Hasbro doctored the image on the figure card so they could produce one with two. That's such bullshit.

Awesome news about the stuff being stocked. I ordered the comic book (er, graphic novel), visual dictionary, making of, and art of. Having them rushed, so I'll let you know when I get them in.

If I get them before anyone else, I'll try to track down a scanner or I may have to go the digital camera route.
