Wow. Im stunned. Why did GL think this might work?

Yeah, I have to agree. George must have hit his head on something to cook up that pile of shit.

At least it's gone. Good call in the end.

Not necessarily bad.. I like the idea of Chewie raising Han, as opposed to Chewie having a life-debt to him.. anything that pisses on EU is nice in my book :) But I think combined with Mothma and Tarkin and Chewie, it was just too much inside cuteness. Han was the one that didn't contribute to the story. Am I the only one that would have preferred seeing younger Dodonna to younger Mothma...?

So incredibly glad this isn't happening. It makes the galaxy seem way too small.

I don't know. To me, the Clone Wars had to have affected everyone.

As long as it was just a boy and they never said the words Han Solo and he didn't resemble the older version of himself at all except for the facial structure, even his hair could have been blond as a kid, I could see it work. It doesn't seem so silly.

Except, if he was put in and they had to say his name for some reason I have a feeling they would have called him "Hanny". Am I right, people?

It wouldn't have been THAT bad. I like the idea of Chewie raising Han. But what's with the "slob" thing? That's a bit strange.

And here's the plan to update the original trilogy accordingly...

"I've been from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange things, but I've never seen anything to make me believe that there's one all-powerful force controlling everything... except when I used to kick it with Yoda when I was a kid."

It's good he deleted it. Han is not supposed to be all that impressed with the idea of the Force. If he's with Yoda, he should have been very impressed and thus we would have yet another inconsistency.

For me the whole droid factory stuff was totally unnecessary, looked terrible, and added nothing to the story. How it didnt get cut is beyond me,considering what did get cut (extended Windu/Jango fight).

Am still glad we don't know everything about this film,Utapau,Kashyyk and some of the other planets still hold some surprises.

even if 12 year old han solo was in it, too me that wouldn't have been a big deal. I can't see that bringing down a movie that has Yoda v Sid, Windu v Sid, Anakin v Dooku, Obi Wan v Greivous, and the big one.......Anakin v. ObiWan. I feel like a fucking kid again getting excited over lightsabers.

The Han Solo shit was a rumour that was doing the rounds immediately after ATOC was released. I thought it died a long, long time ago.

I may have to send this to lucas ;) :)

*please note sarcasm*

Who do you think you are!??!?! SS (posting from year 1998)?!?!?

Proving once more that the best way to make a bad idea worse is to let the fans have a say in it. Go go Robo-Maul!

Well, besides the "6 Degrees of Separation" thing that most people don't like (the whole issue of the droids, and everyone running into someone's dad or uncle or whatever in the PT), there's a continuity issue here.

If Han Solo had been in the presence of Yoda at a young age, dontcha think he'd have had a better respect for the Force when he was basically belittling Obi-Wan and Luke on the MF in ANH?

It's best not to be in there.

probably meant he was unkempt. what would you expect if you were raised by a walking carpet? ;)

anyway i wasnt too thrilled with seeing Solo in the PTs, like the others i do feel his inclusion would make the SW universe a little too small. besides if the Empire's reach was that far why do we keep seeing the same characters throughout the saga?

btw i agree that it would've been cooler to have Dodonna, maybe Dodonna and Mon Mothma instead of Mon Calamari.

Dodonna has always been fairly vague in the saga. He's not in either Empire or Jedi. Come to think of it, Mon Mothma, Admiral Ackbar, all of the Rebel leaders, all of them are only in one movie.

I remember the SW comics which had Dodonna committing suicide to blow up the Yavin base as the Imperials attacked. That was pretty cool...

I'll join in with the everyone else saying it would make the universe a little too small. Some characters would need a bit of background story, but I don't think that everything needs to be explained in the prequels. Everything about Han's background worth knowing is explained in the original trilogy IMHO. He's a smuggler, and that's about it...

A quote by Lucas in the Annotated Screenplays:

"The idea was that Han Solo was an orphan. He was raised by Wookiees, befriended Chewbacca, and they went off."

That was in 1997.

There is no way this was shot. That's almost as bad as saying that Leia was born with the earmuff haircut. If this is true and makes it on the DVD, I am going to burn my t-shirts and throw out my lunchboxes.

BTW, the pages of the Making of book posted tonight on Hyperspace confirm that Han was indeed in at one point:

February 13: JAK-OZ videoconference - Atendees learn that the Kashyyyk meeting hall is "tricky." It will have Han Solo and Wookiees, and it will be almost completely digital.
