...I was wowed by a trailer like I've never been before.

It's just the best trailer of all the Star Wars films, by far.

After the final drums rolled and the recognizeable breathing of Darth Vader faded away, I yelled out - PLAY IT AGAIN! though that didn't happen.

The trailer description posted before was accurate, but it wasn't finalized by then, because music runs throughout and obviously, effects have been finalized. General Grievous is seen, briefly, but his magnaguards are easily recognized in battle.

Space Battle shots....wow, some lower atmospheric battle, dogfighting like I've never seen before and capital ships pounding away at each other.

Mustafar looks unbelieveable in some of the shots, especially the wide shots in the latter part of the trailer with Obi-wan and Anakin dueling close to lava.

one guy brought a camera and it was taken away from him, so I wouldn't have fared any better. After the trailer, the 50 or so people present stood up and gave a rousing applause, though one guy said: "this one will probably suck too," to which I replied "You're just a stupid, stupid person"

It was confirmed yet again from these people that the trailer will be seen with Robots on March 11, but should appear on the internet and on TV that week as well.

As of right now, I am feeling, however naive I may be at this moment, that Revenge of the Sith will be the best Star Wars movie of all of them. This trailer doesn't leave you thinking otherwise.

of course I did, cause he is stupid.

There's one shot near the end of the trailer of Obi-wan on Utapau fighting the Magnaguards with Grievous approaching with tons of droids that reminded me of the shot in AOTC in the arena with the jedi surrounded.

The dialogue in the movie sounds much less forced, and way more natural I would say...

the Padme crying shot is probably the first bit of real acting I've seen from Natalie this series. The tone of the trailer is definately dark, and the palpatine shots made me gasp a bit, from amazement. It's just really well done.

Wow. Sounds pretty amazing.

Just think how close we are to the movie coming out, and all signs point to it being amazing. Has there yet to be a disenting voice? With EI and EII there were always some negative sentiments, and granted I liked them both, I can see why some were disappointed.

But I think EIII will wow all.

Here goes, from what I can recall:

20th century fox

Lucasfilm Ltd

"The Dark Side of the Force is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural."

"Is it possible to learn this power?"

"Not from a Jedi."

Then it's shots of palps talking to anakin, then obi to anakin, then mace to anakin "We do not grant you the rank of master"

At one point there's a quick shot of starfighters dogfighting in the battle. and of a magna guard facing the camera on the invisible hand.

Soon after the droid shot you see Mace barging into Palpatine's quarters.

There's a senate shot that cuts to Palpatine announcing Order 66. which cuts right to Vader (anakin) marching with stormtroopers in the temple.

There's a shot from the clonetrooper loading dock with transports, followed by Kashyyyk shots. This part is action heavy, the camera movements are quick, and really stunning. At one point you see an explosion in the Senate chamber.

The final shots that build up to the titles are Obi-wan and Anakin fighting, "You are the chosen one!" then EPISODE III ROTS.....Vader and Palps, then end credits.

Additional stuff:

There's one amazing Sidious shot with his face twisted that looks terrific.

The space battle stuff really sticks with me more than anything just because I'm most excited for that right now. It's just gorgeous.

Mustafar is very, very red. The shots reallyl give you the impression of hell, and I guess that's why that comparison has been brought up a bunch my Lucas.

The Palps Senate pic is very similar to one of the trailer shots, but I can't remember any of the pics that were litterally pulled from the trailer. Yoda in the trailer looks unbelieveable.

Woah that sounds awesome! Thank for the info. :)

"We do not grant you the rank of master." - I can see SLJ delivering that line - sounds just right.

Let's hope that Hyperspace puts this up before the trailer is in the cinema and there isn't another "exclusive" fiasco like with AOL the last time.

Oh and CoGro... :heavymetal:

btw - that last shot is it Vader in the suit with Palps?

I like this. Seems like Obi-Wan's in the SW version of the burly brawl although I'm sure this will be much more exciting. Were there any shots of Obi-Wan fighting the Magnaguards and GG at the same time? In one of the webdocs, Obi-Wan was shown fighting three stuntguys with staffs. I always thought one was supposed to be Grievous.

There's alot of freeze frame stuff to analyze once it hits the net, trust me.

Theres a few Kashyyyk fighting shots that I really couldn't concentrate on, cause you see Wookies piloting vehicles and it goes really quick. The water on Kashyyyk looks crazy, too.

I keep stressing, the space battle will be the best scene visually in the entire movie and probably the series. I was just wowed by every one of those shots.

Grievous is fighting Obi-wan in a quick shot, but it's not wide enough to see with who else.

Yes, Vader is suited in the final shot with Palpatine.

The last 30 or so seconds are very action heavy, but at the same time dramatic....It's not like AOTC or TPM that just shows all the action from every scene in the movie in one run, it's more like a buildup to the inevitable, which is the creation of vader and the fall of the republic.

The last shots are Anakin and Obi-wan dueling, so I guess that leaves an emotional as well as action punch.

Superb. Sounds like the LFL kids did it again. We waited so long for a trailer to give us our quick fix and this sounds like its the one. TPM was a definate winner for a trailer and this sounds like it might match it.

Oh yes, the most important part....

I asked the organizer if there was any way a theatre would get an advanced copy of the trailer.

He said, Lucasfilm distributes the trailer, and not 20th century fox, so the prospect of a theatre mistakingly getting the trailer early, a month early in fact, he said was very unlikely, if not impossible.

So that should answer those who were curious about a poster a few days ago who made that claim.

I dont remember off hand any Dooku fight, but you do see the interior of the invisible hand with the magnaguards.

and I wish I could remember the music, though a form of the emperor's theme and the imperial march was in there somewhere because it matched with the action on screen. The buildup to the credits was from ROTJ.

There are no new themes/music from ROTS in the trailer.

Most of the music was from the OT.

I wasn't concentrating on the music as much as I was trying to soak in images for this report.

Not only will this be the best SW film ever, it'll be the best sci-fi film ever.

Funny, I´ve been focusing on the whole "possibly best SW film" and not realizing that would also make it one of the best sci-fi films as well. Weird. Anyway, I´ll be rootin´ for it. :)

The reason why I asked you which music was in there, is because I heard somewhere that "The Darkside Beckons" is what is played during the trailer. This track is the chilling track with the male chorus which is heard as Vader and Luke go at it in ROTJ as Luke drives Vader backwards in that final showdown sequence...

Can you say if this is true or not? Thanks!!!

Could definately be it.

I remember a chorus from ROTJ playing, I may have remembered it as the Emperor's theme, but it must have been that. It definately plays in the last 30 seconds.

you're right.

Yes, even though its the same male chorus that does the darkside becks as that does the regular Emporer's theme, and they sound fairly simlar in tone and style and are from the same general sequence and set piece in the movie, they definetly have different "melodies" if you will.

Go put in your ROTJ DVD listen to the darkside beckons scene, you will probably recognize it from the trailer. :)

Padme is in the trailer, yes. She shares a shot or two with Anakin, and if you consider that the whole 'unnatural abilities' thing concerns Anakin's fear over Padme, then you could say she's figured prominently in the trailer.

and yeah, it's definately from the Vader/Luke ROTJ fight.

Is the line "You are the Chosen One!" or "You were the Chosen One!"?

The original report had "were" and Ternian confirmed that line was in the movie.

Sounds like a kickass trailer. Thanks for the report.

OK, here's my myriad of questions...

1. so you never got to hear JEJ say anything?
2. is the "Vader(Anakin) w/Stormtroopers" him as ANAKIN, or in the VADER suit? Are the Stormtroopers really STORMTROOPERS or still CLONETROOPERS?

Thanks for the foresight.. 8^]

1. No JEJ in the trailer
2. Technically at this point is is Vader, but unsuited. This is still way before the duel. Also, the troopers are still Episode 3 clonetroopers, but from the angle the shot is framed, it just looks perfectly like an OT shot.

how close? I always imagined they were on some kind of catwalk or bridge, like 50 feet above the lava or something. but according to the unleashed figures and your description, they must be right above it, only a few feet maybe. They must be close enough for the lava to spray upward onto anakin...

In the final shots of them dueling, they're pretty damn close to the lava. You see lava spraying upward.

You won't be able to grasp the description until you see the trailer for yourselves. You really have no idea what's coming. My breath was caught at the bottom of my throat for 2 and a half minutes. Some of these shots are just mind blowing.

Nothing since TPM's final trailer has got me as excited for a movie, and even that trailer doesn't have the imagery that has gotten me crazed for this one.

There's alot of action in the trailer, but I promise most people will be wowed by the space battle shots...

They are just unreal. The sound of the lasers screaching and ties howling. It really takes you back to the OT.

I think so.

It's implied Mace will die, as well as the posse, but obviously the audience doesn't know how, yet. Alot of people I think will be surprised by what actually happens in the film as far as the brutality goes, but people will definately get the picture that it's going to be dark.
