Just so everyone knows, if you registered in the month of December and find your account missing, please re-reg again. We had to have a December member mini-massacre to resolve some issues. :spawn: :spawnn: :spawnskull:

Anakin's appointment to the Council is political and non-functioning. More about that later.

Palpatine/Sidious whips out his saber and takes them out in seconds.

This going to be fucking awesome on screen!!

My first reaction to this info has to do with Palpatine. Just how old is he anyways??? He must be a great bass fisherman, he got Anakin hook line and sinker.

This could be a huge setup for Anakin, for Sidious takes out the posse and "lets" Mace get him to his knees. Then as Anakin comes running in he see's the person that best represented the Council, the one that didn't want him trained. The bully of old men and young boys.

I don't think Anakin is on the council according to the council themselves, doesn't Palps put him on as his personal representative or something like that?

At some point Mace faces Palpatine's lightsaber, as seen in the trailer. Must be before Anakin gets back.

Awesome stuff! Much thanks to all concerned.

Cool! :)

Maybe that's what so shocking to Anakin. The age of Palpatine, if it was presented as an ancient story/old legend/urban myth.

Anakin doesn't know that Sid=Palps. He thinks what Palpatine told him was a story. Anakin is shocked because right there, and then, he has the power he seeks - to stop people from dying. His choice is between the overly-protective Jedi or loyal Chancellor.

It's brilliant.

And of course, Anakin chooses the wrong choice because he simply can't let things go.

Hell I don't think Anakin knows anything about Sidious. The Jedi have their suspicions about Palpatine thanks to Dooku's chat with Obi-Wan in Ep2. Hence, they want Anakin to keep an eye on Palpatine. But does Anakin have any knowledge of a Sith Lord named Sidious? I doubt it. He probably just sees Palpatine as a helpful old man, unaware of his Sith alter ego. At least up to that point in the movie when Mace steps in.

I don't know everything about this scene. I had to use two sources to put it together. I don't know what Mace says at all. I only have some lines from Palpatine and Anakin, and I know of some of the action that takes place and the order it happens.

When I learn more about what Mace says, I'll let you know.

I always had the impression that it was the Yoda duel that gave Sidious the old man visage. I have to agree, this has to end the Clone speculation.

The thoughts betray was to Luke aboard the DS, while he is hiding from Darth Vader. The thoughts are forbidden and incestous, of his hot sister leia.

Even if you had the script and the novelization right now I think you might find some slight differences come May 19th. That's just the way Lucas works. Even if you saw the entire cut of the movie as it stands as of today, you'd still probably find that some changes will be made. Sam Jackson is going back to shoot some more scenes, along with Hayden and Ewan if I'm not mistaken.

Basically I think it's best to ingest all this glorious spoiler material coupled with all the Hyperspace and OT DVD/Vader stuff and not think too hard about exactly what happens or in what order because I don't think Lucas even knows exactly what we'll see in May. He'll likely change things before the movie comes out and for that matter after the movie comes out as well. That's the way he makes his movies.

Vader is using Luke's fears for his sister to lure him to the Dark Side.

Palpatine is using Anakin's fears for his wife to lure him to the Dark Side.

This report is pretty close to how it will be in the movie.

After Sidious force-lightnings Mace through the window and out into the distance, the full weight of Anakin's actions are suddenly very clear to him. He is overcome in an expression of agony and stumbles back, crying out:

"What have I done??"

And then in the following moments we see Anakin pledge himself to Sidious and be named, "Darth....... Vader."

Wow. Guys what an awesome job everyone has been doing and I am just that much more stoked to see this movie. I hope it will live up to all the expectations and with these last bits of info I have so much faith. Thanks again keep it coming!

Wait just a question, is any info given to how much Sidious planned all this? Is TPM the key and the beginning of his master plan? Once he met the boy he knew what had to be done and everything since that meeting on Naboo has been a plan or does the plan go further back than that? I wonder if the movie will touch on that?

Absolutely. He may be aware of the mistake he's made, but he now knows more than anyone how powerful Sidious is, and that Sidious claims to be offering him the one thing he truly cares about: The life of his wife.

Seems that Anakin isn't too bright. He lets his emotions rule him rather than his brain.

Spoileriffic, do you know anything about Anakin knowing of Palpatine's role as Sidious? Namely, does Anakin know Palpatine is a Sith Master called Darth Sidious?

I can't help but think about the parallel to ROTJ when Sidious uses lightning to throw Mace out the Window to fall to his death.

Now when Luke is getting fried with lightning because he made the right decision not to turn, Vader/Anakin turns around and throws Palpatine to his death..correcting the mistake he made, and at the same time saving his son.

EDIT
The Dooku duel also reflects ROTJ, not only visually, but Palpatine uses the same manipulation tactics in ROTJ, suckering Anakin and Dooku to battle each other...I'd be interested in knowing if Palpatine encourages Anakin to kill Dooku when he has him defeated, that would be another connection.

Brilliant...

It's great, we see Sidious has used the midichlorians to extend his life... Anakin just chases after it, thinking it can end his mortal fears for him and Padme...

But he ends up going in the suit, and kills his own wife. Great stuff.

I think it would be neat if Lucas used this as a way to explain how in the OT Palpatine is never refered to as Sidious. Perhaps on some level Sidious was still somewhat worrisome of Anakin's impulsive behaviour. "Oh yeah, all along it was me" may not have been a great way to keep Anakin at his side.

Anakin feels remorse by saying "what have I done"...then accepts becoming a Sith?

Somehow that doesn't seem right.

There must be some more key dialogue in there.

Palpatine has him vunerable just after the scuffle. Anakin is remorsful, but also (presumably) at his most open to more of the same. I don't think it's too unlikely he would jump straight into bed with the Sith... a quick and rash choice. Sounds okay to me.

Howdy All,

WOW! I stumbled across this site a couple of weeks ago, and I've been visiting it at least every other day since. There's simply no other site like it, and that's not only a HUGE compliment to the site's administrators and informants, but also to the community as well. :)

This latest report finally puts confusing points into a much needed order. There's been a lot of speculation as to when Anakin is given the Sith name of "Darth Vader," which, if I'm not mistaken means "Dark Father." Too many of the spoilers I've read have put the bestowing of the Sith name AFTER Padme is dead, which, frankly, makes no sense, since it'd be assumed that if Padme is dead, so is her offspring, so how does the title "Dark Father" fit if his offspring is dead? Some daddy!

But now the timing of the new name is perfect, and it must hit an emotional resonance with Anakin. After all, is he not cursed with visions of his pregnant wife's death? Not only is there Palpatine's promise of eternal life, the demonstration of his raw power against the now slain party of Jedi, but the very fact that Palpatine chooses to give Anakin the Sith name of "Dark Father" must be almost entirely overwhelming to Anakin. How can his new master speak with any more confidence in his own power and abilities than in how these events cascade over each other? It must be "obvious" to Anakin that if there is ever a time that Padme and her child will be safe, it is now.

What great motivation to carry out the crimes he is about to commit!

There is a strong undercurrent in history where dictators are not just brutal tyrants, but they are also seen by some portion of their population as their savior and their only hope out of their desperate plight, as real or as imagined as it may be. This is precisely what Palpatine will become in Anakin's now warped mind.

Palpatine reaps enormous fruits from his minimal investments. What an evil genius. I love him! :)

Can someone clarrify a few points for me? Samuel Jackson has stated over and over again that he "...doesn't go down like a chump..." in the film. Considering how Palpatine quickly whoops the Jedi party's butts, and then manipulates Anakin to lop off Mace's hand so that he doesn't have to break a sweat himself, and then he "tickles" and "plays" with Mace via Force Lightning before tossing him out the window, well, to me, this sounds like Mace has been THOROUGHLY "chumped" by Palpatine.

Am I missing something? For the longest time, the context has been inferred that Mace DOES engage and defeat some of Palpatine's forces during this confrontational scene. Am I mistaken on this point? Any clarrification would be appreciated.

That's it for now. Thanks again for a GREAT site, and if this "Revelation Scoop" is what we've been given for Christmas Eve, I can't wait to see what's in store for Christmas Day! :heavymetal:

Thank you for all the hard work and for sharing the fruits of your labors with us!

YOURS!

Kyle

Unless if I'm mistaken, the whole Dark Father thing is just a coincidence (afterall, they don't know dutch in the Star Wars universe). I believe he just gets Vader from the word INVADER, like Sidious from Insidious.

But anyways, it's possible Mace takes out a Royal Guard or something in the whole fight before Anakin enters the room.

FYI, Josh said:

There is another Darth ... one we've never heard of before in the Star Wars to my knowledge. How could he tie into the film? If they doesn't appear in person, perhaps the character is part of the backstory? And on a related note, did you know the Journal of the Whills is in Episode III?
