And on a further tanget, I don't think the belt scene was just made for the teaser. In the movie, Mr/Capt Incredible goes from a blue suit to a red suit. I believe the belt scene was a cut scene from when Mr. Incredible was trying on the red costume for the first time.

Except he was already in shape when he got the red costume, and never returned home after he recieved it.

I do very much like the physical decay idea, initially displayed by "Insert Usernname", because it was very close to my own idea. I would even go further and say the physical decay is not only a consequence of a force addiction or of an excessive use of the force, but rather the price you have to pay for the monstrous and rapid increase of power you get by joining the dark side. the dark side of the force infects you like an illness, perverts and spoils your human nature, physically as well as mentally. when you look at anakin that wearied face and those yellow eyes display his transformation into a strange ánd unhuman being. it is as if the dark side of the force uses him as a host and it´s perverted nature is revealed by anakin´s fiendish looks. it is like being obsessed by a demon. this scene impressed me incredibly, I liked it very much. I find it really, really cool! naturally it won´t be in the movie, it´s just for the trailer. and of course this is ridiculous and the whole matter is trivial at the end of the day. hey folks, that´s life!

hey guys don´t keep arguing about the best theory concerning the yellow eyes thing! of course it won´t be in the actual movie, believe fatboy. it is in no way GL´s style. Rick MacCallum managed to convince GL to boost AOTC with action, after the bad sale of TPM due to the whole Jar-Jar crap, but he´ll never convince him to include this scene. it will be there in the actual movie but of course not with that yellow eyes effect. it´s simply too cool. don´t get me wrong, GL is a nice guy, his star wars epos was visionary, but this would be too much for him ("hey rick, you knucklehead! what´re you doing to my anakin? let him appear with eyes like Bush when he´s drunk too much Jim Beam and is starting to see the exact geographical position of the Axle of Evil!"). did you notice the diabolic whisper, that female voice when anakin turns around? it´s similar to that "Cora-Ratana", out of the Duel of the Fate theme. a strongly conspirative whisper, the voice of an evil spirit talking to anie. in my eyes a great detail, incredibly cool. I´ve never seen the evil presented that well, applying all means of dramaturgy to create a perfectly scary sequence. god, I love that scene. :)

Edit(s): what´s the whole surveillance-camera-and-jedi-temple-younglings-slaughter-thing? it´s simply perfect nonsense. anakin isn´t staring at any surveillance camera with mace and yoda at the monitors wondering why those eyes remind ´em of someone...anakin is on mustafar on this scene and turning around in reaction to obi wan and padmé calling him having seen the dead bodies of the seperatists leaders. or do you think the jedi have outdoor-cams on mustafar in order to enjoy the cool looks of yellow eyes together with the well fitting volcanic world background. a symbol of the devil in his realm? hey never mind, it´s all fun!

I´ve got it at last. Lucas will show it to ye all! anie will turn around and you see no eyes at all wether sith-mode-yellow or schimp-mode-brown. just his ghastly face and two black holes in his skull and a scream: RIIIIIIIIIIIIISE

I found this on HS post production notes from a while back

Exchanging Broadsides
October 06, 2004:

These are trailer shots. They don't strictly count toward the final totals, since they will more than likely be revisited again for the finished movie. But already, the ILM team knows which shots need to be completed for the world's first theatrical glimpses into Episode III, and that next milestone is weighing heavily on the horizon.

Time to re-evaluate some theories (or eat some crow), Pablo confirmed that the yellow-eyed Anakin shot is in the movie. He also wrote that Anakin does have a vision about the future, but not of himself...

Maybe the shot is from a vision, not Anakin's, but Obi-Wan's.

Ahem.

Anakin: I've heard this lesson before.
Obi-Wan: You haven't learned anything, Anakin.

Talking of shots getting left out, I saw again the ACROSS THE STARS video clip recently, and I noticed a line by Bail ORGANA -that looked like taken out of the "This is a crisis" scene- which doesn´t appear in AOTC.

Can anybody confirm this?

Yep. "We must stop them before they're ready" if I recall. It's in one of the trailers, too, I THINK (not 100% on that), and not in the film.

It's in the Clone War trailer.

Not in the film.

As always, Pablo's answers are cryptic... I'd love to know how this play out... Is it part of the vision / sleepless knight sequence or actually some kinda sith thing that happens when you let it totally consume you.

That Pablo, he's tricksy it is!

I remember that pic. It's the freighter ship that Anakin and Padme take to Naboo shooting thru lightspeed if I recall correctly.

I, believe Anakin will have the yellow eyes after he kills the seperatist leaders & has Obi-Wan walk in on him just as he is finished. During the duel he wont have them because even though he is sinking into the dark side, we know from the other movies that he carries feelings deep inside for those who are close to him. He chooses to fight Obi cause he feels he has no choice at that point & Obi knows he doesnt either. Obi is in his way of become the powerful chosen one that Palpatine has helped him become. Early on his rages were uncontroled like with the Tuskens. Later on by the time he reaches that ultimate point & has turned, the dark side has taken over & are now fueling his instincts. Basically he turns & starts to kill people & when he fights Obi he feels the way of : "Please dont make me kill you, but you if stand my way I will have no other choice."
never mind lord, but thats nonsense. i take when he beholds padme accompaniedby obi-wan on mustafar, he feels the way: "please dont make me kill you, but if you go on looking at me that sluttish i will force choke you!"

No. I'm not going to. Not at all. Seeing as all I did was give my opinion on something. More like tossing in another theory of how it could be to enhance discussion. I don't know anything. If I have a thought I share it. Just like you did. That's kinda what people do here. Discuss their theories & ideas on things. You're the kind of dickhead that usually makes me stay off of message boards. Now, if I had said something like, "You're fucking retarded for saying that!" then you'd deserve an apology. But I didn't. So, you don't deserve shit. AND to top it all off, what you said about Vader wanting to see Luke "with MY OWN EYES" (with you meaning that his red sithy eyes see things differently) still has no proof. The only thing we know now is that Anakin will have these red & yellow eyes in the movie at some point. We don't know that they change his scope of vision, only the color of his eyes. So, what I said totally still stands up, and I still don't think that the ROTJ line refers to his "good" eyes as opposed to his Sith eyes, but rather his physical eyes as opposed to his masked eyes. Why would he need his mask removed to see Luke the way he wanted? Because the mask is what was blocking his eyes from seeing clearly, not evil sith power. Truthfully, I think that line in ROTJ just a line GL thought was cool & dramatic for Vaders unmasking and never had any actual meaning behind it. Maybe something left up to the viewer's interpretation. Maybe you didn't understand what I was saying. And if you still don't I'm not gonna explain it to you. Thanks for devoting 50% of your posts to me!

I posted what I did abotu your link above because when I went to the site all I saw was a standard issue fan site (I know - I used to work on one just like it). The link didn't even point directly at the "Yellow Eyes" part of the page, so someone would've had to read the whole thing to find it. After clicking on it and reading a few paragraphs that had nothing to do with yellow eyes, it looked like you were just advertising your site. Spamming, as it's called.

There's nothing wrong with trying to be helpful. But as others have said, you're dealing with the posters on this site who are really the last bastion of sane Star Wars spoiler people. We know everything there is to know the second it's out there to know. And as the above quotes prove, yes, we did already know about the yellow eyes in this thread. As suggested to you above, I do recommend reading around these threads in this forum. There's a lot of "edumacated" Star Wars fans here that know their stuff. :)

From a storytelling POV, when strange people from the future watch the saga in order, they'll have one more thing to tell them Annie is back when Luke takes off Vader's helmet and his eyes are back to normal.

I'm thinking the yellow eyes are a "holy schnikes" moment for the audience to say, "Anakin has become one bad dark-side-consumed mofo," just like the look of Maul was all about, "Holy crap that guy looks like a badass."

Sorry krem' - I thought you'd been insisting the eyes were a trailer only shot, and now we know it IS in the film.

For the record I too hardly ever post to boards because of the number of dickheads on them, so I'm a bit embarrased to find myself being one!

I still DO think that line in RotJ will have been "ret-conned" to mean someting different post-Episode 3, and the fact they went to the effort of changing Shaw's eyes to match Hayden's only reinforces it in my mind.

Still, we shall all find out next May - no hard feelings?
