The Weaker vs Stronger Jedi Logic.

Let us look at TPM for instance. There Maul is that powerful at the beginning that he easily fights Obi-Wan and his master simultaneously. In the end he´s finished by a filthy padawan learner. That superhuman warrior who seemed to be the manifestation of energy and power!

Dooku in AOTC. Though he´s that superior to Anakin and Obi-Wan that he can defeat them both and even fight Yoda quite well, Finally in ROTS he is killed by the same Anakin. Anakin, who seems to have become invincible is again defeated and nearly killed by the Obi wan who wasn´t even a match for dooku!?

Explanations: countless! Number one, Dooku hasn´t ever used the Sith-cool-motherfucker-yellow-eye-Mode but preferred to use the chimp-mode all the time. Therefore his fate was sealed, pretty clear case! Especially since we all know too well that Anakin didn´t the same mistake.

Nevertheless this theory doesn´t explain the story with Maul. For he was the pioneer of the sith-mode, this guy invented the sith-mode! what do you think? Is there any logic or was GL simply not clever enough to come along with a more consistent story in terms of logic.

I know that there have been quotes of GL stating that the dark side is stronger.

One person being stronger or even more skilled than another does not guarantee victory.

This isn't Top Trumps.

But he doesn't beat Dooku unless he taps into his anger at the prodding of Palps. Once he taps into that well of power, he easily overmatches dooku.

Very well explained.

I like the whole concept of the dark side being stronger, in order to defeat a sith like Dooku you have to tab into the dark side as well. Pretty sick and makes sense.

i cant really wait how it plays all out. Damnit...th wait..ahhhh ;)

The Dark Side isn´t stronger, but easily the more seductive. You may believe you´re becoming more powerful, but you can fuck up by letting your emotions get the better of you.

In other words, I don´t believe you need to "tap into" the Dark Side to win against a Sith, just keep your mind calm. Everytime the Jedi are beaten in a duel, it´s because they are in emotional distress. Obi-Wan and Anakin vs. Dooku, Obi-Wan initially loosing to Maul, it´s all because they let their emotions loose and don´t concentrate.

Qui-Gon looked pretty calm to me.

The Dark Side IS stronger...but "overconfidence is their weakness"....absolute power corrupts absolutely, and greed will lead to their downfall. The Sith were destroyed by their lust for power and in the end (ROTJ) The emperor was destroyed due to his overconfidence.

I'm not so sure that the Dark Side is stronger anyway. Quicker, more seductive but probably not stronger.

I think the sith have always been stronger. but not stronger in the force. once you use the force to make yourself stronger you have manipulated it, instead of letting it manipulate u like you should because no matter what it will balance itself. palps tryed to stop it but all he did was delay it.

Also, you know that Ani is better then Obi, cos if you look at AOTC, Chris Lee keeps on taking the micky out of Obi as he fights him, but when Ani comes in, he changes his expression at the begining of the fight and goes all serious, and is clearly out of breath after fighting Ani. Anyone else noticed this?

I thought Lucas had already explained this about the Darkside in the AOTC DVD; the scene is when Anakin's just confessed to Padme about killing the Tuskens, and when he says: "Some day I'll be the most powerful jedi ever..."

Lucas says, pretty explicitly: The only way you can do that is by going over to the dark side. That's the only way you can get powerful enough. But in the end it'll cost you.

Paraphrasing, but that's what he says essentially.

I think he goes ahead to hint at what's in store in ROTS, as he says further, that it is that hunger to cling to things by grabbing at whatever power you can so that you can control things...it is that hunger that ultimately leads Anakin down the darkside....

Im with Yoda and Dogg Thang here.

Anakin wants to be the most powerful Jedi ever sooner rather than later - hence why he will turn to the Dark Side which is quicker, easier and more seductive - but NOT more powerful. Its like taking a dodgy short cut full of perils.

If hed stuck to the Light Side of the force it would take him a lot longer which his impatience will become frustrated with.

He wants ALL the power - NOW!
