Time to join the dark side and spit a little bile in the face of the moments that made you roll your eyes, laugh out of context, or just throw your hands in the air and say, "What the fick was that!" List em out, your least favorite moments from the entire Star Wars saga so far!

From the OT:
1. Lando, Han- "Good luck." "You too" Fuck off.
2. Tarzan... ugh..
3. "But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters.." Wah wah....
4. Almost every time a stormtrooper got hit with a rock.
5. Nien Numb.. Mushmouth of the galaxy?
6. Too many shots of Luke getting into the speeder and getting out of the speeder.
7. Stormtroopers are just so gaddamn stupid!
8. Officers arent much brighter!
9. Why doesnt anyone stop Luke, Han, and Leia while they are traipsing around the Death Star. Don't even get me started on the seven foot Wookie....
10. Everything in ROTJ after Jabba and up to Luke/Vader/Emperor

From the PT:

1. Anaking in TPM
2. Jar Jar in TPM.
3. 2 Jedi against 1 Sith and they get whooped? I'm all for creative license but...
4. 3PO in the last half hour or so of the movie. Is it really necessary to work him in everywhere?
5. Obi-Wan can destroy hundreds of droids all shooting at him, but he gets a whoopin from one bounty hunter...
6. Anakin tells Padme about the Tuskan slaughter and she doesn't freak out? My girlfrind doesnt even like to hear stories about bugs I've stepped on...
7. Padme in AOTC's final battle. Everyones got a lightsaber and shes gotta gun. Jedi are dropping like marshmellow fluff on William Atherton but she stays standing?
8. The green dude that's jumps up to confront Dooku in the area and gets whacked by Fett. Jedi reflexes hunh?

This is the "spur of the moment" list by the way. I said I loved the movies, I never said they were perfect. :chewbacca:

Luke's lightsaber is knackered.
Greedo shooting first. Need I say more?
CGI Jabba - <comicbookguy>Worst CGI ever</comicbookguy>
A hanger full of Stormtroopers suddenly appearing at the end of a corridor.
Fucking Jedi Rocks...
New Sarlaac beak looks rubbish.

Prequel Trilogy

Jar Jar
Mannequin Skywalker
The podrace announcers
CGI Jabba
Fart jokes

All of the love story dialogue
The ‘American Graffiti’ scene

Those are just the ones that are immediately apparent.

Hmmm, I'll go with Tarzan here too. I cringe during that bit. Much of RotJ fits into this post for me actually, but only in comparison with what was great about the first too. Jedi Rocks sucks bad. That kermit run to camera is painful. Again, the Sarlacc lost any hint of cool when it went 'little shop of horrors'. And now HC at the end just tops it all off nicely.

If the Luke/Vader/Emperor confrontation wasn't so fantastic, I might not rate the film at all. Especially post-changes.

Aside from that - 'Yipee', any C3PO AotC line, Jar Jar, Chewie not getting a medal, the attempt to 'rescue' Han, the '97 Wampa shots.

What's the "jedi rocks" you guys are talking about?

Mine are:

1) Chewie Tarzan
2) Fart and Scat jokes in PT
3) Stormtroopers getting knocked flat by Ewok rocks and wooden spears.

...or not added at all.

Jedi Rocks is one of those awkward moments when you're watching ROTJ with a friend that you just have nothing to say. I despise it.

I know there is a bloated technologically advanced military being beaten by primitive teddy-bear with a lot of spirit thing going on in ROTJ, but I wouldn't even miss a step if someone threw a rock at me when I was wearing a plastic bucket on my head.

And the beak wouldn't be as bad if they didn't add that retarded sound effect, something more menacing would have made even a crappy scene tolerable once in a while.

OT:
*John Williams' almost mickey moused music for the Jawas; followed by the hammy first instance of the Skywalker theme.
*Anytime Luke whines.
*"You old rascal" dialogues between Han and Lando, especially before the Death Star attack in ROTJ.
*Ewoks
*Interminable speeder bike chase.

PT:
*Jar Jar
*Opening wooden dialogue between Obi and Qui.
*ILM's disregard for logical evolution when designing characters: Wato, the race commentator, that freaking big headed pod racer guy who can't get his pod started.

The "Sound of Music" deal, I believe, is the Anakin/Padme picnic scene.

---

The only I don't like are the bloopers. Like when Anakin looks like he is still saying something to Tarkin, because his hand is out and his body is moving. They could have editted that better.

Also when Luke's lightsaber makes the shut off sound when he's running out of the wampa cave, but it's still on.

In ROTJ, no 1138 reference! Booo!

Yeah, the long shots of rolling hills. It's a slow section of the movie. But I honestly do believe that it lends SOME kind of credibility to the notion of Padme falling in love with this doofus of a whiney, clearly unstable padawan.

Yeah, I agree with you. It's the only scene in the movie where they actually seem to be having a bit of fun and Anakin takes a step back from his crazy, whiny, stalker psycho mode. Sure, it's a bit cheesy looking, but it has a point in my opinion. Having said that, if the romance had been handled a bit differently, scenes like that would not have been needed.

No argument from me. This kind of gentle humour is light years ahead of the slapstick and toilet humour found in the prequels.

Jar Jar stepping in shit, the creature that farts in Jar Jar's face, and Jar Jar acting like a complete twat in TPM in general. C-3P0 is a good example from AOTC, especially the droid factory sequences. He was always prissy in the original trilogy, but he camps it up something terrible in Clones. There are more examples, but I can't be arsed to put too much thought into it.

I guess it would depend on the context. Chewie's Tarzan thing doesn't bother me because it fits in well with his usual howls and growls. If it had been Han or Luke doing it I agree, it would have sucked. Another reason I like it isbecause it's not overdone. I could almost fogive the This is such a drag' pun in AOTC, if they hadn't immediately followed it up with 'I'm quite beside myself'...

Jar Jar - we all know why.
The whole medal ceremony in ANH - cringe!
Mon Mothma - I want to slap that woman, she is so full of herself.
Luke getting beaten down by Vader in ESB. I wish Hamill could act in that scene.
The matte boxes they left in around the TIE fighters in one of the space battle scenes in the remastered trilogy.
The over-saturated colours of the new version of ANH.

The endor ewoke death scene in the middle of the major battle towards the end of the movie - an emotional moment like that is so not needed at that point.

My least favorite bits include...

From TPM:
When Ani's little friends drop by for a few useless lines as he's fixing his pod... "Come on, let's go play ball..."

From ROTJ:
I never liked the "Jabba Disco" song in the 1983 release, and while I personally think "Jabba Rocks" or whatever from 97 is a little better, I still think it is completely unnecessary. Why not just cut from the band finishing the song, before Jabba says, "Play it again," and cut straight to Jabba sending the chick down the trap door. An easy 3 minutes would be cut, and nothing would be lost.

The "Yub Yub" song at the end of ROTJ really pissed me off back in 83 when I was a smartass kid. I like the replacement music much more, but could still do without a few of the prancing ewoks shots...

Am I the only one who gets up and dances along to Jedi Rocks?

I am? O. K.

I like Jedi Rocks. I like the Sound of Music scene. I like little Anakin. I love the Ewoks. The Gungans I can bear and Jar Jar I can, too. I understand why they are there.

The only truly lame thing in Star Wars, and it's actually starting to grow on me (which scares me) is: the two-headed announcer alien at the podrace in The Phantom Menace. It just looks way cartoonish to be real. : (

I hate the fact that CloneTroopers in the PT are total badasses while the StormTroopers in the OT can't hit the broadside of a barn and get their asses handed to them by mutant koalas. Maybe they're clones of the clones or something...

yeah - like that movie duplicity (whatever the name) where michael keaton plays a guy that clones himself four times, each clone being less coherent than the last.

I'm amazed at how much stuff I would have posted has already been said.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the utter discontinuity in look and feel between OT and PT. For me it makes the prequels that much more unwatchable simply because they don't feel like Star Wars movies. I know there's lightsabers and jedi robes and stuff, but the spaceships, actors, costume design, and sets just don't match the original. It's way too different to chalk up to thirty or forty years of progress in a thousands-of-years-old galactic republic. The shit would look the same!

It's an extreme stretch to imagine Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker evolving into Darth Vader. I expected to see Darth Vader's personality emerge as the films went on, but as we all know we have a bratty kid throwing tantrums- it just doesn't flow, no matter how much I try to rationalize it. There's something cold, hard and mature about Jones/Prowse that's completely missing from Christensen.

That's a huge fault with this series.

There are a lot of things I could list from ROTJ but I'll name just one thing that really chaps my ass.....

-Vader's helmet suddenly becomes dull an scuffed halfway through ROTJ. One scene it's all shiny and gleaming then the next scene it looks a Voc-Tech student painted it with Krylon and then dabbed it dry with his biology homework. Just plain bad.

Probably when Anakin told Padme that she had 'grown' more beautiful. That scene makes me cringe everytime.

One thing thats always bugged me is that when Anakin tells Padme about his slaughter of the Tuskens she doesnt freak out. I know If I came home one day and told my g/f i just slaughtered a tribe she wouldnt be best pleased ;)

i thought the same thing - was there any comments made about this from people in the know... someone should ask g.lucas what the story is with padmes reaction, even if she is an emotionless political figure the slaughter of children should have raised at least one eyebrow.

she's all hot for anakin, she wants a piece of ass, she doesn't care. I think she's ok with it because she thinks it was just an overreaction to a terrible incident. Now if she knew it will happen again, thats a different story.

The fireplace scene in AOTC. Hayden's dialog ain't great, but he makes the most of what he has to work with. No problem there. Natalie, on the other hand, sounds like she's just reciting the lines printed on a cue card. I know that the love story in AOTC is supposed to be courtly love and everything and I'm down with that... but that particular scene grates me.

i always figured padme stayed quiet and didn't react because this guy just totally wiped out an entire encampment of people who are explained to be brutal and savage...obviously he has the ability to murder...and it's best to play sympathetic than disgusted.

Jedi Rocks
Porkins
The way the whole greedo/han scene looks now...the fact that greedo shoots first doesn't bother me...it's the fact it looks like crap.

Other than that...there isn't much that I hate. I don't feel the need to bash star wars SE or the PT in order to feel cool. Because, that's the impression I get of most of the people on here who bash either of those things. They do it because they feel it's the appropriate thing to do...as if it makes them stand out and matter.

OT no EE

ANH - Chewbacca not getting a Medal
ESB - Off the top of my head I cant think of much that I really disliked in ESB
ROTJ - Chewbacca Tarzan

OT EE

ANH - Laser shots changed to "gun Shots" in Theatre release (fixed in DVD) but now its the Green LightSabre on the Falcon when practising with the training Sphere (is this bad editing or on purpose?)
ESB - Change from Vader saying "Bring my Shuttle" after he loses Luke to "Alert my Star Destroyer and tell them to prepare for my arrival" and then using a different angle shot from ROTJ just to add something new. Vader loses all his anger in the change
ROTJ - Jedi Rock

PT

TPM - Jar Jar Binks (pick a scene)
AOTC - "I Truly Deeply Love You" and "If Master Obi Wan saw me do this he would be VERY grumpy".... Grumpy??? oh and cant forget "I HATE THEM" then he cries... the Sand People confession was going so well until that..

first off there is nothing bad in star wars, just a few things that aren't as incredibly awesome as others, so here are mine:

tpm: jabba seeming to lack any intelligence

aotc: Anakin: "I hate them!"(although most of his acting I defend, because he is playing an angry immature frustrated jedi, but this line was too much)

rots: the fact that it isn't in my dvd player right now

anh: i'd have to say the jabba cgi(although the dialog is good)

esb: Luke: YAAAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAHHHH(thank god that was eventually removed)

rotj: sy snoodles cgi

Obi-Wan sucked too in the duel with Maul. It was not until his master was destroyed that he got furious. BUt don't forget he STILL got owned even in a rage. If it wasn't for Qui-Gon's saber, Kenobi would've been finished.

actually I very much enjoyed the confession scene it was truly showing his darkside and the music was really starting to tie in with the OT as they were using Emperor music from Jedi. What bothered me was the way it ended with him whining I HATE THEM. it was poorly delivered imo

sorry you all disagree. however it was a part of a scene that I disliked and thought took away the moment. while the scene in the field that most hate was not well done either, to me I thought it was necessary to help try to build the bond between padme and anakin. I wish it was a little better done however I could live with it. please note that I am just saying it was those 3 words I disliked in how it was delivered only. I am not saying the whole confession was bad nor was the field scene better. but in the context that I understood and saw them as its how I feel about them.
