It kind of looks like an A-Wing Fighter with a Tie-Fighter cockpit.

A merging of the two craft. Not bad.

That's one of the first models they built after the concept drawings were approved. They use those to "flesh" out the ship's look in a real 3D environment, plus it gives GL something to pick up and critique.

I should say that I've had this pic for a loooong time.

Courtesy of JR.

All, some of us just recently seen another version of the cropped from JR above but I did not show him the particular picture, nor do I know of anyone else here doing so for that matter.

A version of the above picture was already shown, obscured here:

Also there are more on the way.

From the very begining Grevious hasn't seemed from what you insiders make him out to be, very Star Wars. There is alot of time between now and when episode 3 actually comes out.

ALIEN VADER

According to I Shot JR 's post in another thread, Grievous is Genoasianish with his legs inverted in a Raptor stance.

Since I can't find his post, let's hope JR gives his own description of Grievous (again) in this thread.

According to I Shot JR that from his source, Grievous is a homage to General Kael from the movie Willow and well here's what JR said:

Quote:

.... if you want to see the Obi-Wan vs. Grevious fight early , you don't have

to look any further then the Mad Martegan vs. General Kael fight in

Willow! Cracked mask and all

JR was kind enough to send in pictures of General Kael from Willow also:

See this is beginning to make more sense to me now as far as General Grievous because he is, in an extreme sense, a predecessor to Vader in that he's a cyborg and uses lightsabers. So it would make sense if Grievous' mask or faceplate was a more grotesque or frightening concept suggesting death or something to that extent because that's how Vader's mask is. But then again in the movie his mask might have a clean and non-threatening design and it could work either way.

I guess it depends on how much of a connection Lucas wants to make between Grievous and Vader.

One thing's for sure: the million dollar question about Episode 3 is Grievous. Everything else is practically known.

Those little windows in the front bother me. It's not like anybody could actually see out of them at that size.

Another "hey remember the OT?" awkward design element...

I saw this being discussed on a few other boards, but I thought I'd clear it up here.

The living parts of Grevious are not human. And he definitely has lines of dialogue in the script. Nothing is mentioned about subtitles or an alien language. And nobody knows what his voice will sound like yet.

Just a question about this.

How can you know a detail like the General's organic parts not being human - yet you don't know his lines of dialogue? Is there more to Grevious than what's been revealed? have you read the script?

I've yet to see a rendition of Grievous I like as well.

Otis Frampton's rendition based on JR's descript in the beginning post is the best version to me though.

As of now, 99% of the pix released either publically or privately are crummy. (The 1% being the Pudu Vader/Ryan Church art). I'm not sure of the origins of this new/old Grievous picture but it was probably modified to protect JR's source.

All I know was that JR was vehement that I post this picture now and at this point in the game, with Pudu "retired", I'm not about to be a choosey beggar.

Regarding the TFN Grievous, the ALCool version, the Fett/Battldroid cross was pretty rad, but according to Pudu and JR it is probably very inaccurate.

Fett/Battldroid Grievous:
http://theforce.net/episode3/newspics/gg1.jpg

Supposedly the most accurate according to Pudu:
http://theforce.net/museum/images/Prequ ... l_g_01.jpg

Nope, I never said that was the most accurate.

If you are going to quote me, do it right.

If there was a picture out of that bunch that I thought was the most "accurate" it would be this one:

TF.N/Prequels/Episode_3/aa-grievous07.jpg

Even though the proportions and hands are all wrong. That one is accurate since it was based on Tom Hodges work. Tom Hodges work was inspired by actual accurate Grievous data.

That JR/Otis picture is a laughable joke.

Okay, time for secondary retirement. Please don't misquote me anymore. Let a brother die in peace.

Otis Frampton only did the artwork on request of JR.

Regarding my "misquoting" that was probably due to every other time TFN came out with a Grievous fan art, you would post something along the lines "this is the most accurate to date" or something.

Anyway, there was no need for ya EP to come out of retirement to post. All you had to do was email me, as you have my LukePsychotic@yahoo.com email address, or PM me and I would have edited my comments with your corrections.

Ewok, I sense some hostility towards me in your message. Is it because you're playing with TBone/AL/Fatboy again?

To our viewers, Ewok Pudu asked me if he could join the MF.com boards after the "A Private Conversation With..." went public. I Shot JR showed up on his own as well and I have no idea where he came from.

I thought for sure you wouldn't have the nerve to show your face again after the three, um, "spy pics" you talked so much about were finally released. Pure comedy.

Quote:

Interesting how you didn't comment on the second one. Anyway, yeah, the Otis version is a little cartoony. But that's why I went to him first. Chances are that the first time Grevious is seen will be in the CW series. Simple as that.

Now kill the negativity, and unless you have something positive to contribute, pull up a rocking chair and watch out for what I got coming...

Just because someone has their loyalty to another site doesn't mean that the SW fanbase won't benefit from their work or information. This person is obviously a talented 3D rendering artist and there's nothing "incredibly fucked up" about that.

Emotional resonance? In the Prequels? :?

Seriously though, I think the only reason he's gonna be shown as having organic parts is to let us know it's possible before it happens to Anakin. A quick nod, and then it's done. I'm not sure species will even matter that much. I mean look at the dude in AOTC with the chest knobs and processed voice...

JR passed this onto me when he saw the Grevious henchman thread.

Quote:

... Grevious' henchmen.

Yeah, they're robots in Jedi robes. But check this out: there is a scene (which hasn't been shot yet, or who knows it might all be CG) where one of these guys very publicly and intentionally frames the Jedi. This is why Grevious is collecting the lightsabers of the Jedi he kills. He gives these out to a few of his robed minions to publicly frame the Jedi. There is one assassination attempt in particular which really sets off the anti-Jedi movement in the Senate. And don't think that Palpatine's not going to use this also to turn Anakin and put doubt in his mind about the Jedi order.

I also heard a rumor about these guys transforming or something, but that's up in the air, or it might have just been some kind of pre-production idea tossed around.

Lastly, unless the fan-hype around Grevious slows down, this guy is really shaping up to be a huge letdown. His role in the whole movie is pretty damn small. I'd put him on par with Sebulba from TPM from what I'm hearing.

I asked about Mace's confrontation with Palpatine and how Palpatine uses Mace's confronation as a suicide attempt against him to the Galactic Senate.

Quote:
This happens earlier, and it's *not* on Palpatine. :)

It's going to start the doubt. Could it have been a Jedi? Can we trust the Jedi? The audience won't even be let-in on what's happening. We just see a robed Jedi ignite a lightsaber and try to kill somebody. And you can bet that Yoda and co. are going to get nervous as hell. So a certain inquisitive Jedi Master is sent off to investigate yet another mystery by the Council. Yoda leaves Corescant at this time (not really sure why or where he's going). Obi finds finds Grevious, finds out Palpatine's little secret. He calls in re-enforcements, drops the news. Mace deploys help, sits in the temple with a "worried as hell" look on his face. Cut to Anakin sharing some quality time with Palpatine for a while. Cut back to Obi and troops, big ground battle starting, intercut with Mace visiting Mr. Sidious. One battle turns out good, the other, well...

Tom Hodges ( www.tomhodges.com ), who says he seen Grievous says his rendering is the most accurate. Tom Hodges also says Grievous has human eyes and a human brain:

So, could it be Obi-Wan's saber that he's talking about?

That's a good Jedi to frame, and the opportunity to nab his sword could have come when they fight on the Sep Cruiser, right?

There was also that old rumor about Cmdr Cody handing it back to Obi at some point...

This reads as being feasible and interesting to say the least but somehow I don't think there's enough screen time to set up a subplot involving the framing of the Jedi by Grievous' henchmen.

Isn't this just referring to Mace's confrontation with Palpatine which Palpatine later twists in the Senate as being an assassination attempt against him by the Jedi? Palpatine would have turned Anakin against the Jedi with him killing Mace in Palp's office.

This is getting confusing, silly and somewhat stupid.

The Jedi frame job is done. The whole ordering of the clone army. What was the whole point of that in Episode II if Lucas is just going to abandon it for phony assassination attempts on the Chancellor?

If the Jedi really wanted to smoke the Chancellor, then why rescue him from the Separatists/Dooku?

Also, why would Anakin buy this? He's been with them long enough to know how they operate. If anything, the Jedi aren't proactive enough - especially in Anakin's eyes.

Who's more aggressive than that kid?

If he can't see through this, I'd say he pretty much deserves to get seduced.

During that fight, Palpatine doesn't do any seducing. He just watches. This is Dooku's big dialogue moment.

What do you want to know about Tarkin?
