Holy Shit I need a change of underwear. I noticed the dead red guards so let's hope we get to see them in action and see how they do againt a jedi or two. It also looks like we get to see Palps lay the smack down on someone. He looked pretty hardcore there with his red saber. No grevious thought I wonder what the deal is with him.

Wow. I'm trying to remind myself that I felt that in ways the trailers for the last two films were more rewarding than the films themselves but, seriously, wow. They have sucked me right into the hype all over again. Fantastic. I'm hooked. Lucas, I'm your bitch once more.

more than likely they are still trying to tweak all of the Grevious shots, lets face it there are still 6+ months to go before thay are done, and like the 2 PT films they will be working on them untill very close to the release date.

That shot where Anakin turns his face and reveals the eye - does anyone else notice something funny about that just before he opens his eye? Like it was composited seperately or something was changed or is it just the compression on my copy?

It's at 00:47

Wow.

I'm going to need to make a VOB/Divx rip of the extra large version to watch on my DLP projector.

Does anyone know if this trailer has a "name" (ala Breathing, Forbidden Love, or Clone War)? If it's just "Episode III Teaser Trailer" like the properties say, then we may only get the theatrical trailer this spring.

Oh, well. This one rocks.

That pic of Anakin has nothing to do with his sleeplessness. It's on Mustafar, you can see the Conference Room behind him. Anakin's sleeplessness comes is due to Padme...

...not too sure about the whole edditing of the whole thing, it doesn't seem to flow that well... a bit rushed perhaps...

...things i noticed

...the footage of Sir Alec from ANH doesnt seem to be from the theatrical version, more an alternate take

...Vader's voice certainly isn't JEJ... perhaps a stand-in until they dub JEJ in towards the en of production... notice how Vader really rolls his Rs at the end of 'Masterrrrrr'

...While Anakin is choking Obi-Wan against the floor, Obi-Wan is holding Anakin's lightsaber, the next shot he's holding his own, so somewhere in the dual Obi-Wan gets hold of Anakin's lightsaber

...Revenge of the Sith continuity error #01 the shot of Anakin's starfighter is flipped so R2 is on the opposite side of the cockpit...

...oh yeah, Sideous is a baddass!

...oh yeah, :gb2tbone:

I still like the Forbidden Love trailer the best.

The only gripe I have, if any, is the music is the same used for theClone War trailer. :( A little Tie-Fighter music would have been cool - or Duel of the Fates.

e) you may be right about that, i havent seen any other images of the fighter. but the whole image might be mirrored just for the trailer. you never know.

Yes. A lot of shots from the AotC trailers were flipped images - one that comes to mind is Amidala in the Naberrie kitchen.

I'm struggling to come to arrive at a reason why Vader's voice in ROTS needs to be different to classic Vader voice. If the mask is performing the voice alteration (a mechanical piece of equipment), why not have just a clean cut between Anakin's true voice, and Vader's classic voice? Why the evolution?

Speaking of which, why the need (other than for dramatic purposes) for Vader's voice to exist at all, if Anakin can speak well enough for himself at the end of ROTJ?

Yeah, but couldn't one also make the argument that the Elf village in Fellowship (sorry Ringers, the name escapes me) was more that just a little reminiscent of the Ewok village in Jedi? It's all about how the locale is used in the final flick.

Yeah but the Mount Doom scenes were filmed on a dormant volcano that in no way resembled the finished product.

I've been lurking around here for a while, but I just had to register after seeing that teaser! This is fucking WICKED awesome! This movie is gonna rock all! HOLY SHIT! And yeah, those eyes on Anakin are just like Darth Maul's! Fucking creepy! I might just find a movie worth seeing this month just to get a shot at seeing this on the BIG screen! Man oh man, I this looks beyond epic! I might be gushing a little too sheep, but can you blame me? Anyway, I can't wait! I still tape recorded Access Hollywood so I can switch on my speaker system, and just really feel that music! Too bad it has all that junk on the screen, and the aspect ratio is altered. Just killer. This tops my favorite trailers of 2004 list! How long before it hits shows like E!'s Coming Attractions? I know it doesn't officially go public online for another four days, and I will download the largest version possible.

Anyway, great to be here. This site is one of the best SW fan sites ever! Major thanks to all who are bringing the trailer to us non-Hyperspace / AOL members.

The copy I d/l'ed from Hyperspace has neither the Hyperspace logo nor the Star Wars.com logo.

EDIT with some observations: the AOL trailer that I downloaded from DP's tfnsucks link (just for the hell of it) is about 2 MB larger than the one I got from Hyperspace, just about 15 minutes ago. The AOL version has a data rate of 100.5 k bytes/sec, while the Hyperspace version has a data rate of 81.4 k bytes/sec. I'm guessing that the OS might have compressed theirs a bit to make the download a little easier. If this was done AFTER the initial posting of the trailer -- like during the time the site was down -- that might explain why some people got a Hyperspace logo and some didn't.

Must be an official pic someone snagged. I believe those Sony HD cameras capture a 4:3 aspect like 35mm and then they crop the top & bottom.

:heavymetal:

EDIT: Or 16:9 maybe? That's what the plasmas in the video village was showing.

You are correct. I downloaded the teaser before it went down. After I read your post, I went and downloaded it again and played them side by side. The version they put up is 2 megs smaller and looks way darker then then the first version. Odd.

Yeah, there needs to be something recognizable about Anakin in Vader, and the vocal performance is the best place to do it. It's a little strange to hear, it's not the Vader we are familair with, but it has that sort of hint of disorientation one would expect in that situation from Vader. He's probably been completely unconscious since the duel with Kenobi, and is now just waking up in an extremely unfamiliar situation and environment. Disorientation is the least of the things he would be feeling.

Hi guys. I'm just new to posting on these boards, but I've been hanging around for a while and you guys seem like a nice bunch.

I have uploaded a copy of the trailer, 2MB, which I captured off of Channel 9 here in Australia (so it has logo and news.) If any of you are having trouble downloading the big HDTV stuff then go grab yourselfs a look at the following URL.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/wadesweb/starwars/rots_tease_oz_pal.wmv

I will only leave this up for a couple of hours so that I do not choke up my personal ISP space.

Thanks. Have a good one.

my main complaint with Vader's voice in the trailer is the fact that it doesnt match...sure we can all tell a difference in the voice in each episode of the OT, but this one in the trailer sounds the most (to me) like the ROTJ voice...

so now in context of the order of 1 thru 6, we go...

EPIII - deep, ROTJ-like voice

to

ANH - higher pitched, pre-pubescent sounding voice

to

ESB - middle ground

to

ROTJ - deep voice

yea, it's nit-picky as hell, but for something so minor in light of all of the effects in SW, you'd think they'd be able to nail some kind of continuity or a better flow with such a small detail as Vader's voice...

MAn, awesome teaser. I love the dark vibe and seeing Hayden looking all evil makes me happy.

I do think tho whoever did the music editing should really look for another job. Not only do i think are the choices just off and dont really help the visuals but the cue hits (cue hits are when you crossfade or switch to an entire diff piece ) are off too.

And while im at it and its tradition for sheep (myself) to bitch about every detail that isnt 'right', i think that the extended use of greenscreen and no real sets really shows it weakness in the background of the Avobi duel. Just like with AOTC, it just doesnt have that 'epic' look that LOTR has for example. Its looks fake.

But of course, this could all be not finished and ive only seen less then 5 secs of it.

even if thats JEJ voice, after that many years, obviously he wont sound 100% the same. And if its someone else, they did a good job of almost getting it right.

Im glad they didnt show anything with Grievous yet. And i think im gonna stop looking at stuff cause with th elast two movies, i knew every detail before i even saw it....

Let's not over analyze Vader's voice from a teaser trailer. Previous trailers used different sound than what showed up in the final movie.

I think this trailer has the potential to shock the regular movie-going public. It plays like a horror flick trailer.

God I love this trailer- the imagery is so dark and moody and perfect. Sidious is absolutley wicked looking and that's very good!

The best character piece in the clip?

Image

The best audio from the clip?

"_Riiiiiiiissssse."

The space battle over Coruscant made me literally giddy watching it.

May 19, 2005 is gonna be a blast!

Just one nitpick. Fix the tiny vader hands!

Anyways I do think the voices are way off.

Sidious has suddenly adopted a Transylvanian accent when he says "Lord Vader" and Vader's "Master" sounds quite a bit different than what I expect. I believe James Earl Jones would have pronounced with the soft English "er"

Really? I thought all the Mustafar fx work looked the best out of that whole trailer. The shots of Anakin choking Obi-Wan are in the conference room which was a real set. I believe the only greenscreen duel footage shown was that shot of them outside in front of the lava. If that choke scene looked fake, it's not because it wasn't shot on a real set.

LUKE VADER how can we be happy with these movies?

it seems that everything that has gone into the prequels has gotten reemed in the ass ten times over. the voice in that trailer, whether or not it was a final piece, really cant be criticized for what it was worth. i mean, like a poster sed prior(and i apologize for not naming u) vader just woke up...after getting bitch slapped and tossed into a hot bath. everytime we hear him talk in the OT hes either having a good time basking in the darkside or in total rage thats all we are familar with.

now, here we are shown a new side the beginning and i gotta think that in the begining of anything whether its riding a bike or having hot sex that no matter how hard we try it is never as good as what it becomes well maybe sex wasnt the best example....anyways, i have to believe that vader is new to this new technology "keeping him alive" and therefore should have the right to sound different. this is like saying, "well in the OT we hear vader talk as JEJ then when luke takes his mask off we hear some old fart talkin ooooh, thats not right oooooh then why doesnt anakin sound like that fuckin old fart

HAVE SOME CREATIVITY INJECTED INTO UR VIENS U CRITICIZING POS.

i love the rest of you guys, really!

woa woa woa...chill the fuck out...i didnt say shit about Vader's voice with and then without the mask...i just mentioned the how his voice is different in the 4 episodes that his voice is in and how it goes from deep to high and then to deep again...and i never said that it was going to have some profound effect on the overall story, just mentioning that i thought something so tiny could have had a little bit of a better flow or whatever...

the voice has already been talked about, even in this thread, yet i'm a criticizing peice of shit for mentioning it too makes perfect sense to me
