That sucks, complain!
You have a case!

It was probably the mailman though.
Shouldn't they mail those in cardboard tubes?

Did Lucasfilm send you a screwed up poster or did the postmen sit on it while he ate lunch?

I suggest you write them a letter and tell them the poster is just trashed and that you are not happy with your purchase one bit. Make sure to say something like "now even if you exchange my poster, I have to go all the way down to the post office to send it back to you. I didn't want all this trouble, I just wanted a poster." They will tell you to keep it and they will send you a carefully packed poster that is better then average.

The people at StarWarsShop.com are nice, but their business is a bit wacky. I ordered 1 vintage Return of the Jedi poster and a couple of other vintage things. The Jedi poster didn't come. I wrote them. They sent me another package with the same contents as my incorrect order. It kept happening. I wrote them and told them and they let me keep all the stuff and they sent me my original order plus extra stuff (these two really big ROTJ photographs that are aboout 3ft wide and a Revenge of the Jedi theater promotion mini poster). They were out of one item so they gave me the Star Wars DVD's for 1 cent. I mean, when they fuck up, they really hook you up.

i just emailed them to tell them and sent them some pics of it too it was packaged in a poster tube within a outer cardboard box the outer box was fine no damage, but the tube had a dent but from the looks of it it was like it when it was rolled up and they just sent out a duff poster, they probably have a room full of illegal immigrants sitting there day after day rolling them up not giving a shit on the condition there in! i hope they sort it as im not paying $40(cost $20 to ship it to the UK!) for a creased up piece of paper!

"but the composition in the poster is just... awful."

Agreed. Am I the only one who thinks Vader looks like Dark Helmet?

I've only shown this poster to 2 people who both asked "Why is Anakin hiding behind Darth Vader's shoulder?". It didn't take long at all to show them what was actually going on in the poster, but the effect it was supposed to have had clearly wasn't happening. It'll be interesting to see if it drums up good-will in the cinemas.

Personally, I go with the whole "Well, it was only supposed to be a teaser trailer" explanation.

I got a Stormtrooper helmet that way as well.

There was a time when they were sending things out and they wouldn't give exchanges/refunds.

A Strongly Worded letter always helps.

I've had a bunch of posters sent from eBay over the years and all of them have arrived in great shape. I'm suprised the OS has fucked up this bad. Surely it was packed in a padded tube...?

Anyways, I'd be emailing them a strongly wordrd letter - $40 is top dollar for a poster, a creased one at that. :chewbacca:

here is there response, im not happy!

Quote:
Dear Customer,
Despite our use of extra heavy tubes, every once in a while a tube is crushed during shipment. Please take the following steps to minimize your expense and trouble in returning posters to us. Cut off the bottom few inches of the damaged poster - enough so we can confirm which poster you purchased - fold it, and return this portion to us in a standard size envelope. Please include a note as to whether you would prefer an exchange or refund.

Sincerely
Customer Service
StarWarsShop.com

i think im not the only one to have a crap poster as this seems like an automated reply especially as i sent them pics of the poster so they already have proof!
