12.08.03 - Departures and Arrivals
Jay.L, Natalie.P and Anthony.D finish their shooting. Temeura.M and Bodie.T returns as CLONETROOPERS.
PADME, OBI-WAN, TYPHO and THREEPIO sit on a green block representing a speeder on a green screen lined platform.
Next is PADME and THREEPIO sitting at the controls of a NABOO STARSHIP on a landing platform set. It is a quiet scene with minimal dialogue.
A landing platform that is more of hangar bay is the next scene. R4-G9 is sitting in OBI-WAN's JEDI STARFIGHTER. R4-G9 has a rotating dome, blinking lights and a swiveling holographic projector. COMMANDER CODY is with OBI-WAN.

15.08.03 - Washed the Spider Out
OBI-WAN and ANAKIN enter the flooded ENGINE ROOM.
18.08.03 - There is Another Pablo
OBI-WAN and ANAKIN have a lengthy discussion among a bluescreened set with huge pillars.
19.08.03 - In Today's Thrilling Chapter...
ARTOO's last day.
FEDERATION CRUISER HALLWAY: grime, steam and shadows. Gun fire deflects of the wall. Automated baddies fire upon OBI-WAN and ANAKIN. ARTOO follows.
A LANDING PLATFORM with two JEDI STARFIGHTERS is being built. Nash.E is preparing wire work for a pipe-climbing scene.
20.08.03 - A Helpful Alien on a New World
On a new planet, on a LANDING PLATFORM with curbed and ribbed architecture, stands three ALIENS. GROUND CREW ALIENS also are present.
21.08.03 - In For a Pummeling
OBI-WAN is getting clobbered by enemy combatants. Floor panels are filled with gravel. Filmed on greenscreen. Nash.E does wirework on bluescreen for this scene. The fight lasts 1min and 36sec.
22.08.03 - A Fan That Made It
A PILOT inside the cockpit of the FIRESHIP looks around, then looks left before flicking some switches. His only line of dialogue was:
PILOT
Follow us, we’ll put out what fire we can.
25.08.03 - Special Guest Diary
A fast paced action scene was filmed in a CONFERENCE ROOM. ANAKIN started in the morning and was later joined by OBI-WAN.
Pablo.H mentions the duel will span multiple sets and travel a lot of distance.
26.08.03 - The Action Heats Up
Duel shot on the third stage to host the duel.
OBI-WAN and ANAKIN battle on an incline. Their robes are burnt, discoloured and cut from the grueling activity that preceeded this scene. The whole set is bathed in a red glow. It is shot on a set that is sandwiched between two lager sets.
27.08.03 - The Duel Continues...
STAGE B. Three sets of a larger location where the duel is formed:
1. Greenscreen with blue rectangles taped off, denoting specific areas of the floor. OBI-WAN and ANAKIN stride from one end to the other, careful of the important obstacles to be added via CGI. There is a strong wind as well. During this part of the duel, ANAKIN and OBI-WAN are distracted by a digitally created something.
2. The dark metal surface of a mechanical structure (larger set).
3. The last part is a isolated platforms. ANAKIN circles OBI-WAN.
28.08.03 - The Fight Is Rigged
Today's action took place on a small isolated platform. There is a glow from below the platform. A saber swipe clips severs an outcropping of from one of the platforms revealing metal pipes.
Action moves to another part of the set rigged and articulated for harrowing action. Its over 16ft high and painted green although the red glow covers most of the structure.
29.08.03 - High Flying Jedi
OBI-WAN and ANAKIN hanging from visible wires from a structure, swinging to and fro in the depth of the duel. The cable is connected to their waists.
Set change to an earlier part of the duel. Robes are cleaner. Debris begins to hurl down as ANAKIN tries to deflect them.
Day 45 of the shoot.
02.09.03 - Concentrated Action
Strong winds blast ANAKIN and OBI-WAN and obscure their paths during their emotional duel.
Small bluescreen stage with a stretch of intricately patterened mechanical floor.
Iconic dark form captured on cam.
03.09.03 - A Common Foe
The scene talked about takes place in the GENERAL'S QUARTERS on the FEDERATION CRUISER- a multi level locale with raised platforms and sunken floor sections; large expansive platforms exapnd out from this area via CGI. The Jedi are against a "common enemy" - which is either Dooku or GG.
This action is dedicated to 3/4 of one scene. The other quarter is shot the day.

04.09.03 - The Master Plan
Continued action from the previous day. The action covers four performers. The action moves from the lower levels of the QUARTERS, to the above PLATFORMS, then back down to the lower levels. The fight only lasts a few minutes and contains quick lunges and twirling swipes.
Hayden was hurt during the sequence when Ewan hit him in the abdonmen with his lightsaber.
Pablo also questions the motives of one particular character and how much of SIDIOUS' plans they know. There are two lines of contradictions in EpIII; one about the Jedi Council and the other about the Republic.
05.09.03 - All Over the Place
Rescheduling of shoot due to Hayden hurting his leg. Scenes from Wed 10.09.03 are bumped up and continuatuion of scene from the previous two days is postponed.
Six scenes shot over three stages.
1. DARTH SIDIOUS appears as a hologram from a new locale and reaches out and touches someone. This is shot on the same stage as the GENERALS QUARTERS. Duncan Young stands in as one of SIDIOUS' HENCHMEN.
2. OBI-WAN is hurled through the air and hits a wall and collapses. Stunt performed by Nash Edgerton.
3. OBI-WAN, ANAKIN and PALPATINE in revolve. Set had to change due to safety risks and CGI problems with the hard, angular ceiling.
4. OBI-WAN explores a rocky cave in an alien wilderness.
5. OBI-WAN fiddles with a gadget in a pillar in a new minimalist locale in the JEDI TEMPLE.
6. YODA and OBI-WAN have a conversation in a new location within the JEDI TEMPLE. Ducan Young provides the voice of YODA. There is a stand in for YODA as he walks across the frame.
08.09.03 - Separatist Gathering
A meeting of the leaders of the CIS in a CONTROL ROOM on MUSTAFAR. The place is inhospitable as to stop Republic persuit. Large rectangles of illuminated amber and cyan represent view screens. In the room is NUTE GUNRAY, his AIDE, and RUNE HAAKO (no lines) who speak to a holographic form. Present is PO NUDO and his AIDE, PASSEL ARGENTE and DENARIA KEE.
POGGLE THE LESSOR, WAT TAMBOR, SHU MAI and SAN HILL are listed on the call sheets but not all will be present in this room.
09.09.03 - Duel Redux
Two scenes scheduled for today.
ANAKIN and OBI-WAN begin the duel. It is shot on the last full set left and the lightsaber action is extremely fast. A red light flashes on and off nearby the pair and white strobe lights indicate a danger. Pushing each other back with thier blades, they push their weapons into the counter tops and control panels in an array of sparks. There is leaps and throws throughout the fight.
ANAKIN and OBI-WAN both hit the control panels which protrude from stems.
The set has a huge blaster door that opens. The fight doubles back on the set as the combatants cross the same room twice.
Bonnie Piesse has make up tests done. BERU's scene has been bumped up from March to next week.
10.09.03 - Downhill Slide
ANAKIN and OBI-WAN are running from unseen dangers in the FEDERATION CRUISER. ANAKIN looks back and begins to run like hell. As the floor begins to turn into a ramp, ANAKIN tries to control his descent and calls his comlink for help.
PALPATINE, ANAKIN and OBI-WAN continue to run only to fall into a trapdoor.
Nine HANDMAIDENS fitted today.
11.09.03 - It's All Digital Magic
One scene of a green walkway surrounded by green curtain and crash mats. The planets topography and architecture is unique and otherworldly.
One action sequence is OBI-WAN fighting CGI opponents against a breathtaking panoramic view. Another scene has OBI-WAN concentration on a group of armed TOUGHS itching for a fight. He fights FOUR stunt performers three green and one blue.
There may be problems with the blue performer and CGI effects later on. The TOUGHS are thinner than the performers and they wear cloaks; their weapons are effective against the JEDI and they are a step above the Geonosians and battle droids as enemies. OBI-WAN has problems defeating these guys.
12.09.03 - Saddle Up
OBI-WAN rides a fast, agile terrestrial animal into battle.
15.09.03 - The Last of the Jedi
Seven scenes shot today.
OBI-WAN shot the second half of a two-part scene on a greenscreen stage.
ANAKIN hangs by one arm - part two of five.
ANAKIN shares his scene with a JEDI INSTRUCTOR and two PADAWANS.
KI-ADI-MUNDI, Jedi general, leads troops into battle. He leads CLONETROOPERS into battle on a new world that will be created by CGI. He disembarks from a REPUBLIC GUNSHIP and signals his troops to follow him into battle.
16.09.03 - Crew Cameos
Two dozen extras fill this new scene against a green screen. The crowd is of similar social class and history. A QUARREN and ISHI TIB are present as well as various new SENATORs. There is local PLANETARY GUARDS and SENATE GUARDS.
There are still more characters to be added to this shot.
17.09.03 - Day Fifty Eight
Last day of shooting.
Five scenes shot, 4 in one stage, 1 in another.
First four are stunt related.
Scene 177 is set on a set surrounded by greenscreen that is one of two from the OT. This set is directly from ROTJ. It has sunken pits with control panels and dials.
