Head over to TFN for the description from JG. Sorry, i don't know how to link. This sounds very cool to me. Only question is, when are we gonna see it?

So you don't think it's legit, Tern? I think to say there's nonew info is a bit harsh as they've decribed what's in the trailer. Still I know what you mean, If i'd seen the trailer and was sending in a report I'd hope I'd remember more than a few vague shots. They're probably going to let more details out in drips, keep the traffic coming.

I think it is sus.

That dialogue has been created by so many, it ain't funny. RISE VADER! Puhlease. Also, the floating platforms are on Mustafar - not Kashyyyk as susggested.

It seems an awful lot for a teaser trailer.

Could well be, in which case I've wasted a lot of time dicussing a load of bollocks, which would be a first on a sw message board. On the other hand, I love the idea of intercutting episode 3 footage with Obi-Wan's speech from ANH. Funnily enough I posted this the other day

""you fought in the clone wars?"

"Yes, I was once a Jedi Knight the same as your father"

could be spoken over wide shots of the clone wars.

"I wish I'd known him"

"He was the best starpilot in the galaxy"

shots of Anakin in the space battle

"...and a cunnning warrior..."

Anakin fighting onboard the cruiser

"and he was a good friend"

Anakin and Obi-Wan facing off against each other, igniting their sabers

"how did my father die?"

Cut to black the clash of sabers and the Emperor's cackle

"Only now at the end, do you understand"

Obi-Wan screaming"Nooooo!"

Vader's breathing.

I dunno something like that. Could be too cute and maybe it would be confusing for some but I think it would be a cool way to suggest that whatever the prequels have offered so far, this is the story we've really been waiting to see. "

I get your point about there being rather a lot though. Still, we'll see soon enough.

it doesnt gel with me either, most fan ideas for trailers usually have alec guiness in them somewhere so this is no different BUT then i thought... the reason they might stick some OT footage in is to cross promote the dvds! its low but hey its LFL marketing we are deling with here
iirc the previous descriptions were more detailed bu were seen by projectionosts who had the time to note everything, this could be the ramblings of someone who has no real depth in the ep3 plot, we will all know soon enough! but it does all sound like bits of rumours etc all plonked together i.e. the platforms, the slab, the vader in chains footage, the tri fighters, the platforms its all stuff that is now public domain

I love the idea - Alec's voice and the Vader images will really tie together the 2 trilogy's. But we only have a month for the truth to be revealed and find out how accurate this is.

I reckon they'd cross cut with the ot and focus on Vader in an attempt to get in Joe public and the Jaded prequel viewer. You know, kind of, this one's the one you've been waiting for. Remember the glory days? Well this one's like that. Sorry, there I go again, discussing this as fact. Man work is slow.

and that's fine. MF is no where near the size of TFN. Although we had a rough paraphrasing of the dialog between Palpatine and Anakin/Vader since Summer 2003. (As EP can attest to via his PMs)

We already have people working on it and if things go right the trailer will be at MF before theaters and before Hyper$pace.

The Leia/Padme teaser Fatboy described probably will end up being used as one of the "Tone Poem" television spots.

I am sort of new to this site but I have to say it is truly one of the most in-depth places on the net for RotS info.... and if you guys can actually pull off getting the trailer on here first that would be beyond sweet! I know I would love to recieve that PM when it happens!!

There´s part of the description that didn´t seem too unrealistic compared to what GL and ILM can come up with i.e. the ray of "acid" (perhaps it was a fuel leak and the guy didn´t get it) or the "crab-like things" on Mustafar. Doesn´t seem like fan-wank. The "Wookies on platforms" could be a reference to their speeders/catamarans (once again, not knowing what it was he was looking at)...

I´m keeping an open mind on this. :)

Well according to the trailer description, the screen is all black when we hear Sidious and Vader. It is possible that the words we hear come from a different scene before Anakin dons the suit. Then after Sidious says "Rise" it cuts to the shot of Vader on the table. That would account for why we hear a different voice.

I have a feeling this trailer description sounds legit. I'm 80% sold on it.

I think LF knows they kinda have to "go for broke" on this "last" chapter for Star Wars, so it makes sense that they'd go in guns blazing with the first trailer, because this is their (in a sense) "last" shot at the prequel stuff, and (the way this trilogy has panned out) the one the "fans" have been wanting to see.

So they're going to throw everything they can into their 100secs.

Sounds good to me, now lets SEE IT :whatevaho:

More from Josh:

Quote:
Here's some new updates and tidbits:

Anakin's reply to Palpatine is Yes, Master? and not just "Yes" and previsouly reported. Sweet. It is said somehow questioningly, as if he is not exactly sure what is happening.

Palpatine's "Riiiiiiiiise" is so devilish and long, they've clearly spent some time on making this section of the film perfect. Still finding it hard to believe they are going to show this section so early. Wow.

We've been told that the voice of Vaders is ... close ... but definitely sounds different from the original Darth Vader. There should be no doubt that Lucas could make him sound perfectly like the classic Vader if he wanted, so this must be intentional. After all, it's logical that teenage Anakin under the
Vader mask sounds slightly different than old Anakin in Episode IV under the same mask. We think it is either an early cut without finished effects (voice and visual) or Hayden Christensen's voice modulated through some advanced filters to sound very, very much like Jones. If you played this to casual moviegoer, he or she may not even notice any difference from Vader's classic voice.

And to clarify an earlier point or two, the lines of dialogue we posted are spoken over completely black screen right after the volcanic field shot. And the Tri-fighter we mentioned is actually the new Jedi starfighter.

There are no mechanical characters in the trailer except R2D2 and C3PO, not even for a split second. There is someone with sharp teeth and humanoid head, slightly resembling the alien from Enemy Mine. Someone should post a picture here for comparison. So unless that is Grievous unmasked, the Droid General does not figure into this first trailer.

JG

I disagree with the notion that this is a very detailed teaser trailer. It's on par with "Trailer A" for TPM and "Forbidden Love" for AOTC.

Sounds good to me, let's roll!

The Guiness voice-over idea is fucking brilliant.

And I'm not surprised that the first trailer contains plenty of Vader images. Vader is what's going to sell this film to the non-fanboy public. And Lucas is nothing if not a fantastic marketer of his story, characters and images.

LOL - sounds to me like Josh is an idiot, just trying to create controversey. Of course, I already knew that.

As Fats says, Vader sounded different not only from movie to movie, but from scene to scene in the SAME MOVIE. Compare "Commander tear this ship apart until you've found those plans, and bring me the passengers, I want them alive!" to "Obi-Wan is here. The Force is with him." to "I sense something... a presence I've not felt since..." All different sounds to the same voice that was voiced by the same actor.

If the "casual fan" isn't going to notice, then that means it's close enough, and therefore who gives a shit.

It wouldn't suprise me if he's seen/heard of a lot more than has already been revealed. It seems a bit odd, i can't see a logic in what they can reveal and what they can't for legal reasons. From what he's said in the past it would appear that there is huge amounts of stuff yet to be released in the spoiler forums. I don't know if this is something to do with hyperspace - as it might be argued that revealing spoilers could fiscally damage uptake of HS. Who knows? It's all a little confusing to me. We still know very little about how the middle of the film will pan out, exactly how Anakin is seduced (we've made some good educated guesses to do with cheating death and attachments) and we know very, very little dialogue which i find astonishing considering how much visual information has been seen/released so far. I'm absolutely dying to see this new trailer, but im looking forwared to TGAP Bob letting us in on some more secrets so we can get a better feel for the film.

More likely, TFN has been extremely dry of spoilers this go round, and they use the "threat of Hyperspace" to maintain their mystique of authenticity.

It's not in their self interest to say, 'Sorry Guys! We haven't had any major leaks this time. I guess we pissed off all the folks who gave us our spoiler information in the past."

If they had the goods, they could find a way of letting them out. Assuming of course they care more about spreading spoilers than page hits. (Yeah, right.)

While making my last post in the TGAPB Spy Rumor thread, I headed on over to Prequel Watch and noticed this gem:

Prequel Watch on the TheForce.net Episode III trailer descript

For what it's worth, we can indeed confirm that the information TFN is getting here is legit. Or, at the very least, that their source is privvy to actual elements of the film as well as marketing elements.

I got a more detailed description from an advertising exec in New York whom my uncle works with in TO.

From what I heard, the Obi-wan speech is just clips from ANH.

"The Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic, before the dark times...before the Empire"

"A Young jedi named Darth Vader helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the jedi knights.....Vader was seduced by the dark side of the force"

I was told there's space battle footage, action in the falling ship, kashyyyk footage, Naboo queen, Opera footage...but as posted, most of the shots are a second.

That's all I got.

Three weeks.

In fact, three weeks from today. November 5th...with Pixar's The Incredibles. However, probably a day or two before that for Hyperspace members.

Hyperspacers will probably also get it in Hi-Res QT while non-members are likely to get Med-Res QT even though it will be totally impossible to keep the Hi-Res version from spreading in no time.

----------

Did some research on first teaser trailers from Episode I and II.

Official starwars.com announcement on Episode I teaser trailer (November 20, 1998).

http://www.starwars.com/episode-i/relea ... easer.html

Official starwars.com announcement on Episode II teaser trailer - "Breathing" (November 5, 2001)

http://www.starwars.com/episode-ii/news ... 11105.html

Soon. :)

Those dates were when the trailers were actually released, Hade. Here are the official announcements for the trailers...

TPM (11/6/98):
http://www.starwars.com/episode-i/relea ... 81106.html

AOTC (10/29/01):
http://www.starwars.com/episode-ii/news ... 11029.html

So yeah, we should be getting an announcement within the next two weeks about the ROTS teaser, maybe even two weeks from tonight, as that would be 10/29/04 (three years to the day after AOTC's announcement), which would make sense if it's going to be with The Incredibles (which opens on November 5, just like Monsters Inc.).

The TFN trailer descritpion states that there's about a minute of RotS footage in the trailer total. In the latest Hyperspace Post Notes update, George Lucas is quoted saying that there's 90 seconds of footage in the trailer. Either that was a description of an earlier cut of the trailer, or everyone has been duped. I'll go with the former.

I have no idea if TF.N is correct, but Josh actually said:

The trailer ends with the title "THE SAGA IS COMPLETE - MAY 2005" and is about 100 seconds long.
