TPM and AOTC had some pretty cool menu time-outs (I don't recall AOTC's actually, but I remember Sidious in the TV Spots section coming on and Watto coming up on the Stills/Animatics menus), does the 4th disc of the OT have these little Easter Eggs? They can be hard to find (you basically have to let the menus loop a bunch of times), but I am sure there's die-hard enough fans on here to have found out...

You may have to press 10>, then 1, then 3, then 8. So basically, you're tapping in 11, and then 3 and then 8. If that makes sense.

But I don't know about the wheres and hows, though...I get mine this evening.

is the THX logo is highlighted when you press that combo?

On Ep1 & 2 yes. Go to the options screen and highlight the THX logo. Then press "10+", "1", "3" and "8". There will be a slight pause after each number entry.

On the trilogy bonus disc, you just have to be in the Video Game & Stills menu (or just skip to title 38).

Just do as mcdermd says, and it will work.

Mind you, the OT one doesn't have that many good bits in it. Mainly the Boba Fett one, and some stuff with Jabba from RotJ including what Carrie actually said on set during the confrontation with Jabba.

Has anyone actually noticed if any of the menu animations change over time?

They don't as far as I know, I've skimmed through most of ANH's and the Extras menu .vobs

Those menus are mostly fantastic by the way.

The outtakes are quite disappointing really, except for that funny clip of Boba Fett hunting down Wicket.

The lightsaber featurette ends with a funny webclip, but I really wish they'd put the Star Wars Kid there instead. Wouldn't that have been great? Ghyslain probably wouldn't have allowed it though.

The 1138 thing never worked for me on TPM or AOTC, but if you start the movie and then select Title 3 manually, you should be able to view the outtakes. That's what I do. Also, titles 7, 8 and 9 I believe will take you to the 3 respective menus types (Kamino/Naboo, Geonosis/Tattoine and Corascant). The only thing is I get a "Cannot Perform Function" thing when I try to select the titles from the menus or the THX/Fox intro titles. It has to be the movie Title, and then it will let you select any title you want from there.

It depends on your DVD player. Some require it as "1138" all at once, others "11" then "38", some (like mine) "11", "3", then "8", and I think I've heard of having to do each individually.

When I play the Bonus Material disc on my DVD Player, it says the DVD credits are on: Title 35 - Chapter 1 (REGION 4)
When I navigate there with PowerDVD, it replays the opening sequence to the menu.
Hrmm, me wants to make a Boba Vs Wicket avatar...

They're better than Van Ling's previous work, but they still have this weird crappy made-for-TV-CG feel to them :P
Like CG Han walking into the area on the MF where Luke was training on one of the Bonus discs.

I can't get the bloopers to work no matter how many times I try.

Is there a trick to it or am I just an idiot.

Region 2.

Hmmm. Maybe there will be time-outs and other stuff on the next release.

I am sort of dissapointed with the menus. They are really short (I remember most menus going like a minute before looping, these seems to be half that) and tacky. TPM and AOTC where just enviroments from the films with some motion added and clips playing over music. Now we have like dialogue and sound effects going, and the menus are like little scenes that are sort of distracting. They still rule, but IMO not as much as the PT ones did. They sort of lost track of the point and tone menus should reflect. I don't want to hear entire sections of dialogue on the main menu...
