The little interview with Harrison Ford in the "production hurdles" clip is the most animated Ford has been in about 15 fucking years.

The 12th of Sept, if I am not mistaken.

Edit: Yeah Sept 12th, 8:00pm. It's right next to the SW image at the top of the A&E website.

;)

I think its a 90 minute abbreviated version...there's still an hour of it left to watch on the DVD.

:)

The A&E special will show the parts pertaining to ANH and the saga as a whole. The ESB and ROTJ specific bits will be cut.

Still, it sounds like a nice preview for the DVDs . :heavymetal:

NZ DVD's are relesed ONE WHOLE DAY before the US.

Not a big deal.

I enjoyed watching it immensely. :heavymetal:

They used a lot of pre-SE footage in the special, it was kinda nice. It almost seemed to acknowledge the fan desire to see the originals while presenting GL's preferred version of the films.

Lucas seems extremely passionate about a filmmakers right to have final edit of his work. I wouldn't expect the pre-special edition versions to come out any time soon.

We also get the DVD before anyone else too! ;)

Well actually, we don't.

International Date lines and the whole "world is round" theory means, we actually get it on the same DATE as the US.

...fact is they're sleeping while you're out there buying it, doesn't mean we get it any earlier - it's just the whole "earths rotation around the sun" thing.

.........either way, I'm getting mine for free. Yee-haw. :|

Just finished watching the special. It was really good and I'm interested in seeing the rest of it on DVD. It was suprising to see a clip of Sebastain Shaw as the ghost. ;)

There is none of the new cut from the DVDs because they don't use Tem's voice.

People need to stop with this "Lucas doesn't make these films for the fans" shit when this documentary clearly shows that that's the first thing they did in '77, was to go drum up a fanbase at the San Diego Comic Con.

I mean the movie wasn't even out yet, and they were pandering to the "fans".

I took some screenshots and posted them at CHUD. I thought some of you cats might want to check them out. I mostly took shots of the script pages because they were interesting.

The quality is low because I don't have Digital Cable in the front room, I have it in the bedroom where I actually watch movies. Sorry about the low quality.

The opening crawl with out it's subtitle:

The first one is the title card. The second one is a part of the "I am your father" line from the script. I am trying to find them all as requested by Mecha. Once again, this is not the quality of the DVD but that of analog cable.

The Yellow Legal Pad which was cropped by the camera. Here are the 4 shots that reveal pieces. Probably worthless but it might be fun to figure it out somewhat:

This is from the scene where they flip the big script pages really fast. It's probably the same as the film but I am posting it just in case something different and I am not seeing it.:

This documentary with an extra hour not shown on tV will be on the DVD set.

There's only 5 days to go. Not really much reason to encode and upload the sucker.
