Cheese_Boy, its not that line either (I know that one was there before...)

LS-"Jabba, this is your last chance. Free us...or die"
Jabba-"Zar dohga ear! heh he"

The line Im talking about comes before that (I believe). When I get home I'll give the exact time it happens in the vid. Just watch that sequence, I think you'll notice the line Im talking about. He says something in huttese and ends it with "jedi"... It jumped right out at me as a new line.

Anyways, its no biggee change, but its a change none-the-less

amazing screen shots guys, love it.

jabba looks 10x better... not perfect, but hey, thats life.

the sabers look better, the greedo scene better, over all i am super pumped for Sept, and cant wait to get my dvds.

for those of you that plan on just downloading them, and not buying, you should be ashamed  these are classics, and deserve your $$.

i almost wonder if these leaks were semi intentional to help get the naysayers back on the SW bandwagon, and want the dvds, who knows.

"Thanks a bunch - never spotted this until now!
YOU HAVE RUINED IT FOR ME!!!"

Well, see.. I'd be sorry about that, but...

.. HAHAHA. ANOTHER INITIATE INTO THE CULT OF CARDBOARD LANDO! THE GOSPEL IS SPREAD TO ANOTHER UNWILLING MIND!

Oh, and since I neglected to mention it in the other post, thanks much to Darth First. :D

No one spotted the difference because Billy Dee acted like a cardboard cut-out anyway.

I could be wrong but it looks like Spirit ObiWan has changed. In many shots he looks fully fleshed out. The only way you can tell that he is a ghost is by the glow around him.

Ha! That ANH Jabba model is the Phantom Menace version and some people are whinning in regards to it looking bad. Duh! The phantom menace one looks nothing like the ROTJ puppet. It's just that the Phantom one was worlds better than that blob passed off in ANH. It's the same with the CGI version of Yoda. It looks like someones interpretation of Yoda from empire and not what it should look like. Yoda ages 1 year for every ten he lives. He should be 84 in AOTC cause he was 847. His ears are wrong in relation to puppet, the same is true with his hands, head plates, wrinkles, doesnt even have the mole on his brow, and he feet are way off! This is why I cant wait to get the OT on DVD. I have a Jabba sculpt created in Chavant clay resting in a bag with 3 months time already thrown into it. I already have contacts with the right channels. My hope is to nail Jabba's ROTJ look damn near perfect in the face. Then as a courtesy I will first find a company to buy it up and merch it, but I will also send a copy to ILM and request/suggest that LucasFilm laserscan this sculpt in order to finally correct this Han meets Jabba scene as well as TPM. People call George an artist. Well I dont think so. I as an artist wouldnt have let half this stuff slip past me. Let alone that damn ugly weak intep cgi Yoda. Why didnt they laser scan the ESB puppet??? It still exsist at leavesden studios and in the myth and magic tour. His apperance should not be that different when he ages from 84-90. Damn.... Stuart Freeborn is god.

I just wanted to say that the whole "cuckoo cuckoo" vibe of this post cracks me up every time. carry on.

EDIT: oh man, the above one, too.

oh, I agree, they're lousy. this whole fixation on animated characters and 3D backdrops instead of also incorporating traditional puppetwork and actual locations is part of what ruined the prequels for me and made the lord of the rings movies such a breath of fresh air.

all I'm saying is that george lucas basically spit in the face of all the innovative techniques and ideas (such as showing realistically weathered spaceships) that star wars brought to the film industry the first time around.

Anyone know of the validity of the rumored changes to The Yoda from Phantom Menace from puppet to CGI?

Joe is right when he says about Lord Of The Rings. There was loads and loads of CGI, but a lot of it seemed darker then in the star wars universe

You mean realistic weathering such as streak marks from all the wind in space?

Did you ever think that perhaps ships were a bit cleaner and everything in the PT was a little nicer looking for a fucking reason?

Where is this spitting in the face on those innovative techniques anyways? He brought new techniques in the PT. Times change. Get with it.

Dipshit. :whatevaho:

By the way, to anyone who is still riding the ridiculous "he has work-in-progress versions," for your info, works in progress would be burnt into DVDR and shared internally. They would NOT be fully post-produced, given menus, commentaries, fully manufactured and pressed!!!! I am holding 100% FINISHED FINAL RELEASE VERSIONS. These are it.

The lightsaber FX are poor and that is how they are staying until we get a new, 2007-or-whatever boxset.

Thanks for everything DF.

Are the commentaries any good? Specially from Lucas. I don't care for Fisher though, I wish they had several commentaries, a la Fight Club.

Agent - yes they did fix Ben's saber. It looks good in that sequence.

Commentaries - the Ian and Hayden change are COMPLETELY glossed-over! Ben Burtt is talking during the entire Ian scene about sound FX (!) and during the Hayden change Lucas is talking about how important the films are to him, how he loves them and how Star Wars has dominated his life.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/DarthFirst/ROTJSaberFeaturette.jpg

I think this is different - didn't it used to say 'Tractor Beam'?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/DarthFirst/TractorBeam.jpg

Why they change shit like this and can't get consistent sabers is beyond me.

It looks pretty much identical to me, Jabba, complete with 'wheredidhego?' explosions.

There's still the crappy static prop explosion when Leia takes down the 'get your ride and take her back to base' ScoutTrooper.

The reason why they changed it's simple....

sheep couldn't get over the fact that, in the holy trilogy there was only one computer that had its description/writing whatever, on english, I've seen hundreds of fans asking why they haven't changed that. So IMO this is sheep.

Death Star plans and XWing screen are the same.
Speeder Bike chase is the same.

Also, for anyone who cares, the layer changes on the DVDs, as per the PT ones, are very carefully placed. The ANH layer change happens after Tarkin says "kill her" when there is no music, then kicks straight into the Falcon in Hyperspace. I couldn't even spot the layer change in ESB. They got that bit right! Pity bout those pesky sabers...

A shame to hear the ANH DS plans are unchanged, especially since the AOTC plans are much more in line with the ones in ROTJ, not to mention the ANH plans are totally inaccurate (the superweapon is on the upper hemisphere, NOT the center).

OMG! That's the exact same spot in the old RCA videodisc in which you had to flip it to the other side or something. Did those things ever get automated? I dunno, but the change was when Tarkin said "Kill her, immediately."

it's a fake. Luke's saber is white in those close-ups kids. Even in the wide shots it ain't that colour blue, it's much paler. Deep breath and deal!

No the Imperial March has not been added. Disappointed at that actually. The new sound mix is subtly different as well; you'll notice that the sound FX are much louder in the mix than they used to be, and at times slightly overpower the music (the blockade runner sequence for instance). Also the blaster sounds (ie Leia shooting across the chasm) no longer have those gunshot sounds in the close-ups.

You know how in some of those final Vader/Ben duel shots, Vader's saber seems slightly too long?

Well it still is.

I think Darth First is playing with us, he realy is a spokes person for Lucas, playing us, this is changed, this isn't changed, so to find out how far they should go on these DVDs'. They're playing with us. I hope I'm right.
