Does Vader still say his lines and then move his hand after he says them. Its during a Tarkin and Vader dialog shot. I think they were talking about Leia not giving in.

Grievous which disc is the blooper reel on? And yes I'll capture the Trash Compactor eye dude for you when I get a minute.

Yeah the sound and picture quality of ANH, while it's still a VAST improvement, doesn't measure up to ESB and ROTJ. I guess this is due to the age of the material. It does look and sound lightly inferior to the other two. But don't be disheartened, it's still SWEET to see it lookin' so great.

I just am pissed about the shit saber FX. The same person should have done EVERY shot. Whoever is responsbile for the Pink Saber is a bastard!

The Blooper Reel/DVD Credits were on both TPM and AOTC DVDs
Since the trilogy were all done at the same time, they might not have created individual reels for the discs, but try the bonus disc first, cause I heard the Wicket Vs Boba short film is on it.

Greetings from London Star Wars dudes/dudettes!!

First post here! Just also want to say thanks to everyone for the screen caps! I'm a bona-fide Star Wars junky, but for the original releases which I have on Laserdisc. Got to admit though by the looks of it they've done an amazing job of cleaning these films up! Pity about the pink sabre effects though!

I can't help thinking that this is a deliberate 'watermarking' of pre-release discs by Lucasfilm. They know now how eagle-eyed us fans are, and that we'd spot these things a mile off... which indeed we have! Carl Cunningham (DVD producer) has hinted on the www.chud.com forums that the discs are still not completed yet.. so hopefully those pesky sabres will still be colour corrected for the final release in September. Here's hoping!

Still hoping mad that they've left in the Greedo scene though - surely someone at Lucasfilm must have th eguts to tell Lucas nicely that this change sucks? If there's anyone from Lucas reading this..."Do it...DO IT!!!" (Ben Stiller, Starsky & Hutch!!!)

It looks like I picked the wrong night to sleep.

DF you rock like an BMF on the MF boards. Thanks for all the hard work. I knew it was only a matter of time before these hit after going to replication.

Ah, the joys of digital media.

Now, today's lesson for all you Star Wars fans - this is THE EXACT reason why Lucas didn't want the OT released on DVD. Once a digital version gets out, it'll be passed around like that Wendy chick from the Porky's movies. All his grandstanding about "not having time" to release this was nothing but BS.

Now (stepping onto soap box), everyone out there do the right thing - go out an buy the box set when it's released. I know Chinbeard has raped your childhood and all - but, without giving up the $$ it'll just make it even worse when HD-DVD roles around.

(stepping down off soapbox) - Yarrghhhh, avast me mateys. Set sail on the high seas of the internet super highway. Don't stop 'till ye plunder the stolen booty.

Nope... it's the 2004 Jabba...
Look closely, it's not the down syndrome Jabba.

It's worser than 97 Greedo, 97 Jabba, 97 ESB Scream, 97 Jedi Rocks PUT TOGETHER!

I never cared much about any of those things. But if George Lucas actually sat there, watched these movies, gave commentary on them and didn't say "Fix those pink laser sword shots" he's a dork. Anyone who knows what I'm like with worshiping George Lucas can understand how serious this is for me to say it. He's a dork if those pink lightsabers stay. I'm actually considering not buying the DVDs and only downloading if the set is sold that way. Again, it's totally out of character for me to say this sort of thing.

Kahn i was mistaken about the Episode III teaser being on the bonus disc, though Darthy's source says its on the set somewhere.

DPs front page spy report, combined with overexcitement and bad eyesight, led me to believe that there was a EIII trailer on the bonus disc. I was totally wrong  Kinda explains why no one was talking about it.

Maybe it will be on an attached bonus disc.

DF, when you get back, could you also PLEASE post screens of the Death Star plans as well as the X-wing and Tie computer screens in ANH?

Given the fact that you haven't already mentioned them, I'm assuming they haven't been updated or changed.

TFN is going down in a ball of flames!!! I love this site! I watched how they were treating Darth First over there and it was really sad how childish they were acting. I'm beginning to think the site is a front for Lucasfilm and it's either ran by them or somebody is taking some serious payola!
Darth First and Faid, I just want to say thank you SOOOO much for breaking this stuff and getting it to us. This has truly made my day. I can't afford Hyperspace right now and honestly don't feel it's worth $40.00 a year, so I was feeling out of the loop especially this weekend with all the news that was breaking at ComicCon, but this more than makes up for it! To see the birth of Vader has left me SPEECHLESS!!!
You guys will go down as legends for pulling this off and I just want to say again, THANKS.

Maybe...
Or maybe they'll make it so DVD owners get to see the teaser first, ala Mystery AOTC Trailer.
Or they'll be punks and give it to Hyperspace.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if starwars.com accepts alternate payment methods yet... such as international money order?
It's the only way I can pay, and I really wanna see that Kashyyyk Grievous picture, I'm a sucker for Grievous pics.

Thanks for the Hookup DarthFirst.

Great to see you got a username over here.

Seriously, avoid TFN. The users there love to chase out anyone who might have any inside info. With them everything is a photoshop manipulation or a LFL leak to fool the sheep.

Thanks to Faid as well for mirroring the pics.

I'd like to comment on the folks at TFN, since I myself am a visitor of it. The only reason why they/we are so skeptical over there, is because numerous times before a newbie has posted claiming to have proof that they've got "unreleased pictures" or whatever and never come through. We get excited that we might see something and then are completely let down when it was all a joke. We just got to the point where it's hard to believe anyone anymore. I know that's what I did. And I guess I'm sorry for my reaction DarthFirst, but you have to understand our side of this situation...

...that's all.

I don't mean to be annoying here, but could someone mirror birth of vader images again? I've got a netgear firewall on my computer and the word 'fucking' in the URL's prevents me from looking at them.

I've been lurking here the past couple of days and have been impressed with the screenshots. I'm really jazzed about this release even more now.

Got a question for Darth First or anyone else who has access to the ANH rip: Would it be possible to post a screengrab of the Vader/Obi-Wan duel where Kenobi's lightsaber points to the side, showing the bare rod. I'd really like to see how ILM has fixed this shot. Since so much attention has been given to the lightsabers, I'm hoping that the wizards have finally gotten this one right!

Thanks in advance.

Now, here's a question for any of you lucky bastards who have gotten your hands on the rip..

.. not a lot of people have ever noticed this--but in the widescreen cut of RotJ, when Luke makes his climactic leap between the skiffs at the Pit of Carkoon, one can clearly see a horribly contrived 'cardboard Lando' hanging in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. It doesn't move, and appears to be painted into the matte. Badly.

Out of all of the fixes I expected to see in the '97 releases, this was the biggest one. And yet.. opening day for the flick, sitting in anticipation, BAM. There's the Cardboard Lando again. Ten feet tall.

Did they FINALLY get around to doing something about that shot? Animate it, clarify it, get Lando's cousin to stand in and at least swing a little bit? Inquiring minds, and all that.

Thanks a bunch - never spotted this until now!
YOU HAVE RUINED IT FOR ME!!!

;)

So, Emperor's slug, Darth's pink saber, cardboard Lando, background changing colour in the scene where Han tells Lando to pilot the Falcon, plus other fixes left un-fixed no doubt - if fans can spot these errors in several days, how come those working on the DVDs for several years couldn't?

Darth First - you kick ass, just so you know. Which I'm sure you already do. I was wondering if you could post a screen of the opening of the DVDS (where 'Star Wars' fades out before the menu). I'm curious as to how it looks. Thanks.

First off, muchos thanks to Darth First and all involved in gettin this sweet stuff out to us.

I just watched ROTJ, and just wanted to let you guys know of some minor changes no one has mentioned yet (which I thought were still cool)...

When Luke is in the rancor pit, it cuts back to Jabba and Boba looking down at him through the floor laughing. You can clearly hear they've added Morrison doing the "he heh he". Kinda like young Boba in AOTC (JF-"We'll just have to finish him"...BF-"He heh he")

Also, when Luke is on the skiff about to be pushed into the Sarlaac, it cuts to Jabba looking out from the barge. I could be wrong, but I think theyve added a line where Jabba says something about Jedi. Its very sarcastic in tone, but it definetly sounds like a different Jabba voice.

Anybody else notice these?

LM

No, the line im talking about is just before Luke gets puhed into the Sarlaac. I can't give you an exact time (im at work now, dont have the file) but its a shot behind Jabbas back as he looks out of the sail barge.

It's about 27:12.

Phonetically, it sounds like 'Zar Dohga Ear! Heh heh.'

And in case you were wondering, the rubbish 'static speeder explosion' is still there for Leia to destroy.

Interesting comment from Ron Epstein, who is the owner of the HomeTheaterForum, and did attend the press event in New York a few weeks ago. On page 231 of the Star Wars thread he posted in regards to the lightsabers quality not being consistant in all 3 movie screen captures being leaked on the net:

"Be very careful about the impressions you get
from those screen shots. I and a few others
have seen this sequence and we all agreed upon
what *seems* to have been done.

I am being very careful about what I reveal here
but I am not convinced the screenshots are giving
the right impression. "

I am wondering, what *seems* to have been done? Any ideas to what he may be alluding to?

Everyone awaiting the ROTJ dvd, ive re-tared the files, (rars were not bad) the archives that contained the rars, were bad, from what Ive been told 4OF5 and 5OF5 were OK, the new tars are 3 1.4GB files, on 188 and will be on 500 later, im testing the archives right now to make sure there ok. Useally dont' test becuase its time consuming, but I want to get it right this time, if you want them get on irc and message me and ill send :)

The network is currently having connection issues, hopefully be resolved soon, you should be able to connect still thoe.

My guess - bad copies intentionally leaked.

Reasoning - get people to rush out and buy the better ones.

Flaw - Some people would torrent them anyway.

Ron Epstein was referring to the pics of the Greedo/Han scene.

I'm not that impressed with the Indiana Jones box set either. Love the films, but they deserved a better release.
