ATTN people with dv cams in the san diego area!

your attendence is required on saturday july 24th from 12-2 for filming of "the star wars spectacular" though it will probably be a boring as shit slideshow of stuff we have all seen before, it might not, you never know!
as i live in the uk and mr.sansweet wont step foot over here tinternet is our last hope to see what goes on! so get ur sneaky taping methods honed, blank tapes ready and your capture devices warmed up ;)

Noon -- 2:00 PM: The Star Wars Shop at Comic-Con will close during Steve Sansweet's Star Wars Spectacular. It will re-open at 2:00 PM

i know there is the virtual comic-con on hyperspace but i bet it will just be a day long qvc of stuff they want u to buy cant see them showing the good stuff!

What's going to be in this "Star Wars Spectacular"? Expecting footage from the new OT DVDs?

Attention - Security Screeners at the Door of the Convention Center.

Be on the lookout for people trying to sneak DV cams into the presentation. Check all major body cavities of Star Wars nerds before entering the auditorium.

;)

Seriously, I hope someone gets a cap of any Episode III stuff that is shown; but, I don't think announcing plans to pirate/bootleg footage in advance is a wise idea.

Best of luck and I hope the people doing security have warm hands.

 That's probably what LFL is really telling the security folks down in San Diego.

I live in San Diego and I will be at the con and I do have a miniDV cam, and I've already promised on this board I'd try to do what I can...but it will be difficult considering my costume this year.

If there is anything worth getting at Comic Con, Fox and the other California MF'ers will get it.

I've got a better idea Tony... stick a cam in between Monica's breasts. Sorry, your avatars are always so hypnotic.

Unless you are going as Slave Leia ;) shouldn't it be easy for you assuming you'll be attending as Jango or a mandalorian? What with all the hi-tech stuff and all.

"No sir that's not a camera. It's a... uh.. Coruscant holocron collector unit. Haven't you ever read the EU?"

Here is what the Homing Beacon says:

Sansweet will share the inside scoop with fans on the coming original trilogy DVD release slated for this September, and the latest on Star Wars: Episode III. The head of Fan Relations at Lucasfilm has been known to have a few surprises up his sleeve just for Comic-Con fans, and this year should not be any different.

I'm gonna be there, and with camera in tow, but I'll probably be working and won't be able to get around much.

And I'll be on the lookout for Foxbat as well, trying to figure out which one is him under the mask...

Jesus Christ foxbatkllr, that's a pretty sweet sculpt (and I'm not even into the whole fan costuming thing). Do you work for an effects or makeup studio?

No, I don't work for anything like that. I'm doing all this in my garage.

PTGrievous wrote:

I hope so. That's my goal, but it may not work out. I've got my fingers crossed. I'm gonna try a few different things to get it to work.

Well I have some bad news...the first latex pull came out like crap. The face came out good, but the tentacle attachments came out all torn up like shit...so it may not work out

If it doesn't work out, that's hundreds of dollars and 2 months down the drain. I'm still optimistic though, because we're gonna try something different on the next attempt. If that doesn't work, there's still a last resort option.

Well, some very good news. The second latex pull of my mask came out really good, so just some trimming and spot-filling should clean it up nicely. It should be ready to paint on monday.

If any of you are going to be at Comic-Con and are going to the SW breakfast you should go a get a DVD a made from Jeff Roney. He is giving away a promotionnal DVD I made to promote the web talk show I do about SW. You could win a t-shirt if you get one of the winning DVDs. And you should support a fellow MFer.

Actually she's my friend, lol. She also has a Shaak Ti costume to go along with my Kit Fisto costume (not the most flattering pic considering it was our first time wearing them ever).

p.s. Don't you just love the line on my forehead from wearing that helmet??

LOL, that's too fucking cute man. You two were meant for each other.

And that's where your friend gets props for wearing the sock under her helmet. Granted it's a different look without the helmet. You look like a blonde version of Temuera, especially with that hair.

(waits for the inevitable Star Wars wedding...)

My hair is brown actually. Its the weird lighting in that place that makes it look way lighter than it is. Also, my friend is just a friend. I do have a girlfriend, but it's not her.

The mask is awesome, but the expression make it look like someone just force-fondled your junk.

LMAO...unfortunately there's not a whole lot I can do about the expression.

Oh, and in regards to EP3... The Topps booth has a proof sheet you can flip through with a page full of Episode III cards from the "SE Heritage" series. There are at least 10 or 12 cards featuring FINISHED shots from the film which have not been seen before, including one of the opening space battle. I'm surprised no one has taken digital photos of these yet and put them online.

Quote:
"One of the cards seems to verify Mace spoiler reports. It was entitled "Yoda's discovery"----He's standing inside an old looking building (or dark starship) looking very upset. The back of the card states that the discovery is The Death of Mace by the hands of Anakin..."

So did anyone else at ComicCon see these cards and can tell us about the rest of them? Foxbat, any chance you saw them? They seem pretty spoilerish.
