I assumed the dias in the middle of the room was a hlographic projector, like the battle plans in AOTC.

Of course you know what happens when you assume things. ;)

You're probably right.

Yeah I definitely like the idea of a darkened room with no windows. Very evil... very inSidious.

I'm picturing a completely dark room lit only by the lights on the display screen. If Mace and Company show up there to start the fight (or whenever - I actually like the idea of it being just Mace in there better), Mace's "Bad Mother Fucker" Jedi glare at Palps (and Anakin?) could be lit up soley by his lightsaber blade. THAT would be the shit.

Oh man... sweet. :heavymetal:

The centre rectangular panel of the bluescreen area is the display screen. Palps is viewing the wars in the darkened room, "someone" enters, Palps flicks a switch, the lights dim and the panel fades into a view of the Corucscant skyline.

New Knollvision: Video Village

Only gets a slightly better meh than the first of the series because Christopher Lee is in it.

Georgie and crew watching a scene with Dooku against bluescreen on the monitors. To the right of the crew (your left) is the rotating set. It looks like it is loaded up with a couple of greenscreen rooms.

I wasn't aware that the Video Village would be IN Episode III. What a set.

And did I miss something, or how can this be KnollVision (meaning Knoll took all the pictures) when Knoll is IN the picture???

Can anyone clear something up for me? Does Dooku fight Ani and Obi in the General's Quarters or on the bridge of the Separatist's cruiser?

I look for that 'slip' in every one of these things, but it looks like they're not going to be forthcoming. :(

I'd be happy seeing more of Padme in a slip - that'd be juuuust fine. Oh yeah, and this week's is shit.

New one: Revolve

Boy, did I call it out last week when I said "look it's the revolving set".

Well, here it is in it's full glory. Wow, a revolving hallway... with pipes. Fuck. Gimmie something new + cool. I can't even make out what's on the damn Video Village below.

Where's phonics monkey when you need 'em.

I dig the revolve. Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine hang from that door as it tumbles.

So why are those three going into a hangar? How does that fit the story?

I was trying to figure that out. Presumably they're trying to escape the ship because it's crashing, or at least spinning out of control. They're fending off enemies as they go through that door (seen in that "Virtual Comic-Con" screen cap; the door in the KV is turned 90 degrees clockwise). Once inside, they cross the pipes on the set to the left. The pipe gets shot out from under them (or something; I think it was in the web doc "We Still Do A Little"). Easy enough so far.

However, at some point Obi-Wan is unconscious. Anakin carries him while escorting Palpatine. The ship is tumbling. (See BTH "Tumble Dry.") At some other point Anakin is carrying Obi-Wan to the elevator door they cut open, without Palpatine, and the ship isn't tumbling (in an outtake, Hayden goes to the wrong elevator door). And at some point, both Jedi fight Dooku ("Video Village" web doc). That implies this sequence:

1) AS/OWK fight Dooku
2) Obi-Wan is knocked out
3 or 4) Anakin frees Palpatine
4 or 3) Ship starts to tumble
5) Obi-Wan wakes up
6) Trio reaches hangar

How does that fit what we know? I'm mostly going off OS material here.

(Edit: Corrected wrong name)

I thought of that too, but something would be strange. The scene without Palpatine was shot right-side-up on a non-revolving set (the one in the first KV). So that would mean the ship stops tumbling and rights itself. That's possible, given the rumors of Anakin "landing" the ship.

But the BTH pic shows Anakin, Palpatine and "Fauxbi-Wan" in a revolving set, so OWK would have to be knocked unconscious after they get in the hangar, but before Palps escapes. Which means Anakin then carries OWK back to the bridge? It's possible, but seems less likely.

Oh boyo!

So here it is as I know it:

1) Obi-Wan crashes ship in hangar of TF Cruiser. Anakin arrives and blasts the droids. The two leave their ships. R2-D2 drops and goes with them. Obi-Wan orders the droid back to the ship.

2) Obi-Wan and Anakin enter the Engine Room of the Cruiser. They are chased by droids. The Crusier gets hit and fuel begins to leak. Obi-Wan wrestles with droids and they barely escape up a ventilation shaft and into a hallway.

3) In the hallway, the pair seal the vent shut and the engine room explodes. The pair are quickly set upon by Droidekas and they make their way to the Elevators.

4) Obi-Wan and Anakin enter the elevator and begin battling droids - the lift doesn't work. Anakin cuts a hole in the roof and escapes to the top of the lift. Obi-Wan tries to contact R2-D2 to help them. The elevator begins to drop rapidly. Anakin holds onto the elevator lobby fall as the elevator drops below him.

5) Obi-Wan continues to battle droids. Anakin does a somersault and lands through the hole in the top. The elevator comes to a stop as R2-D2 takes control of the system.

6) Anakin and Obi-Wan enter the hallway to the general's quarters. Obi-Wan reminds Anakin about Dooku/AotC. They then enter the quarters to find Palpatine shackled to a chair. Dooku, Obi and Ani battle it out. Obi-Wan is thrown against the wall leaving Dooku and Anakin to battle. Dooku is killed.

7) Anakin takes an unconcious Obi-Wan and the Chancellor to the elevators. Anakin goes to the bridge of the cruiser. The Neimoidian pilot begins to panic and the ship begins to turn as he loses control. Anakin battles with General Grevious who escapes into the atmosphere.

8) Anakin, with Obi-Wan and his shoulders, re-enters the Elevator shaft as the ship turns. Palpatine tries to hold onto Anakin's leg. Anakin eventually gets up onto a ledge. Obi-Wan regains consciousness.

9) Obi-Wan tries to take charge and the group cross a set of precarious pipes. The pipes explode and they all fall down. Battle droids attack them.

10) The three begin to run down a hallway. It begins to tilt and they slide down it. Anakin tries to contact R2-D2. Suddenly, a trap door opens and the three fall down into another room within the ship.

*****

I have no idea after that. LOL.

Shaping up nicely, Tern. Two quick things:

- In one of the videos (maybe BiB?) we see Anakin lying down, apparently in distress, reaching for what looks like an unconscious Obi-Wan. Wind is whipping around them. I suppose it could be that the ship is breached and Anakin is trying to grab Obi-Wan before he gets sucked out. I kind of got the impression he was calling out to Obi-Wan, though, as if he was only just knocked out.

- In the KnollVision of the revolve set, the caption says that the rotating doorway leads to a hangar, and that the precarious pipes are in the hangar (also shown in the KV). Obi-Wan is conscious on both of these sets, with Palpatine and Anakin, and apparently they're fending off laser blasts.

is this an educated speculation Tern, or more of an uneducated one? I still have no clue at all on how things will go down in the opening sequence.

Well, the only thing I could possibly prove is that Dooku is the only one in the room - there is no other footage, pic, blue-skinned person to suggest otherwise.

On the other hand, there is evidence to suggest that on the Federation Bridge, there were two Grievous henchmen and from EP's spy report, this is where GG escapes.

I think that is the elevator shaft.

Ooh how did I miss that knoll vision!?! Anyhow, there is more than one revovle set. One was an elevator shaft, the other was a room. I am not sure 100% what happens AFTER they leave the quarters and get to the elevator shaft.

See also my posts above, from June 30th.

So you don't think Obi-Wan is unconscious in that clip from the BiB video? I suppose he could just be lying down.

I thought this one was pretty boring too. But then I was thinking: "What would be an interesting set?"...and I couldn't really think of anything. I think it's certainly going to be more interesting when there are characters in shot (other than Neimodians, natch ;)).

New one's up... not as bad as some - Bail's g-ride. Straight-up low rider action with Jimmy Smit's speeder. You can't get in close enough to see if it has the Cheech Marin dingo balls and fuzzy dice.

Too bad they didn't give us a view from another side because it's the same side we've seen before.

Not quite a meh.. but, they better be saving us Natalie's dressing room for later.

Another thing to remember is that these were taken specifically for John Knoll as reference. These weren't created for hyperspace and to be the most interesting things ever. They only decided to offer them to hyperspace after the fact.

Besides, these things are shot in a way that would make seeing 360 degrees of Organa's Speeder impossible. Knoll would have to walk in a perfect circle around the ride, and all the other shots we've seen (and will see) are from one spot, standing still, rotating around.

That's how the Quicktime software he uses works best.

The hallway of the Tantive IV - known as a diplomatic Cruiser in the script. There is a stand in for Yoda and a marker for Obi-Wan and Bail Organa.

Is that Lucas aka Chinbeard himself standing at the end of the hall?

Definately the coolest of the Knollvisions thus far. Kinda weird seeing a prequel trilogy set built to this degree of completion. Notice the lack of blue screen. I wonder if Chinbeard made them do this because of the historic value of this set?

New one is up - the General's Quarters.

Pretty cool. You can now see where that long hallway connects to PLUS Palapatine "captured". The weird thing is it looks like Hayden and Ewan's doubles are next to Palpatine's throne; but, it also looks like the two Jedi are coming in the big door on the opposite side - or they are using that Force speed thingy.

Most of this set has been shown already through various pics and webdocs but it's good to finally see it in Knollvision. I dig the DS2 throneroom vibe it has with Palps chair and the mushroom shaped control stations.

The two guys next to Palps are definitely standins. The other two guys in the doorway are probably Ewan and Hayden but who knows.

All I can say is, the fans making "virtual movies" have no excuse not to churn out lots of material before the film opens. By the look of it, LFL is providing us with detailed photos of virtually every set in the movie. After the DVD release shows us the "birth of Vader" we'll probably even get a KV of the "birth chamber," something I never thought we'd see.

My guess is it's the Trade Federation Cruiser's bridge section but that's just based on the tiered-looking set on the left plasma screen. The Trade Federation bridge from TPM had similar tiering and large windows/screens.

This ones a bit crap really boo. Where's a Knoll vision of something like the seperatists meeting room? Roll on the the next BTH

Quote:
Can anyone tell what's on the screens?

First screen on the left is the bridge of the ship side-on, with a couple o' Neomodians there, one looks like Nute (sitting in the chair). Right screen is a second camera shot of what looks (again) like Nute talking to Palpatine? Not sure looks human though.
