The BvS .mkv rip is supposedly 1080p. The ION10 .mp4 is a webrip at 720x302 resolution.

Have you been able to play Matroska (*.mkv) files before?
I have VLC on my iphone which plays the episodes just fine (I'm testing mega.nz's phone app_

What is your OS?
For Windows I assumed most of us used MPC using View > Video Frame > Touch Window Inside/Outside for fine-tuning
