Actually, I saw the TMZ episode in its entirety on TV and Lucas said he would rather be paid for his autographs than to do them for free thus, the "fans needs to get a job" remark.

I’m not reading anything from Disney’s Star Wars Is Dumb. They’re a site run by Trump-supporting Republican White Males who hate Disney, hate diversity in films including the MCU and Star Wars, and also are corrupt and jaded George Lucas purists who get pissed at Disney and still do for anything that isn’t faithful to George Lucas, one of which from this site (@Alexrd) is a part of this group.

I think they just gotta grow the f up, change, learn and listen to the fact that it’s not about him anymore and that Star Wars will be better off without his fanbase. It’s not about him anymore or even the so-called fans who want him back. It’s about a new audience for a new generation. They don’t want it? Too bad. F them. F them all to hell.

Good.
Let the hate flow through you, Pasquali.

The meltdowns are strong with you.

Never. You can try to make me angry. But, you’ll never destroy me. It takes a lot to try and make me baited by you. Only a fool tries to make the dark side enticing because of what he hates and decides to join it like you have, Alexrd. You’ve degraded from respectful disagreements to outright ignorance of facts and failing to acknowledge them as well. Your statement against me is one of them.

I believe Lucas sold Lucasfilm because he thought it was the 'right' thing to do for the company. It seems he made some assumptions, or had a gentleman's agreement, on his creative input once the sale was made. Ultimately, Lucas made the deal, so he has to live with the consequences. However, saying that, I think Disney (thus far) have been an incredibly bad thing for the Star Wars brand. For me, the sequels have been poor and devoid of any real creativity or imagination (which isn't to take aways from whatever enjoyment others get from them). At this stage, TROS is going to be a make or brake moment for Star Wars. I have no doubt it will make lots of money, but will it generate wider interest beyond the latest instalment? As far as the films are concerned, Disney seem to have traded popularity for creativity (IMHO), so it will be interesting to see whether The Mandalorian can bridge the two, and in turn, generate some good will amongst those who currently feel emotionally detached from Disney Star Wars.
