Simon Kinberg finally gets to direct. Based on the trailer, the film looks like another solid chapter in the franchise.

I'm very iffy on this one. I didn't find this trailer interesting or exciting in the least. I liked First Class and DoFP but Apocalypse was a dud and there's been a lot of rumblings bts that Dark Phoenix may be a mess and is being described as The Last Stand Version 2.0. It went through extensive reshoots so what the final product turns out is anyone's guess. I'm just ready for the X-Men to finally join the MCU already.

EDIT: Looks like it’s been delayed (again) until June.

Well unsurprisingly this going down in flames at the box office bringing in a dismal estimated total of $34 million for its opening weekend. The reviews have been terrible and it’s currently sitting at 22% on RT. Ouch!
