Anyone automatically assuming these are the Benioff & Weiss movies focusing on "The Old Republic" may be disappointed.

Personally, I am hoping to find out what happened to Ezra, Thrawn and Snoke out in the badlands ... or wherever.

I'm wondering if the Rian Johnson trilogy and the Game of Thrones guys thing are one and the same.

My thoughts exactly.

If I'm running everything over at LFL, I am doing a trilogy on the origins of the Force/Jedi/Sith. I feel a separate set of Star Wars films has to have something Star Wars-y in it, or else it's just another random sci-fi trilogy. Centering the new films on the Force makes it distinctly Star Wars, and then you can introduce your new characters/environments, etc. from there.

It's Benioff and Weiss (and not Johnson). Does the quicker turn around time mean they are working with an existing concept or are they starting from scratch like Johnson?
