"I made the timing decision, and as I look back, I think the mistake that I made — I take the blame — was a little too much, too fast. You can expect some slowdown, but that doesn't mean we're not gonna make films. J.J. is busy making IX. We have creative entities, including Benioff and Weiss, who are developing sagas of their own, which we haven't been specific about. And we are just at the point where we're gonna start making decisions about what comes next after J.J.'s. But I think we're gonna be a little bit more careful about volume and timing. And the buck stops here on that."

Episode 7 is a reality. Can't wrap my head around this to be honest. Based on the past production schedule, conceptual work would already be well underway and casting should start soon, with shooting happening next summer. All feels so rushed.

Given that the Ep. 7 announcement was so prominent in the release, can't help but feel like this is a promise from Disney to its investors that they can count on a hard return on their investment quickly. Feels cheap and hollow to me.

Then again, I feel like I am in a great minority in that I enjoy the PT as much as the OT, so...

Something about this just doesn't feel right, though.

This was my first post in this thread.

Nice of Bob Iger to agree with me, 6 years after the fact.

I call bullcrap on Iger's "too much too soon" line.

Marvel Studios is CRANKING OUT high quality films right after another, sometimes with mere months between the blockbusters. In spite of the high volume of material coming out (seemingly endlessly) people are still turning out in DROVES.

Why?

Because the focus is on the CHARACTERS, the MAIN PLOTLINE, and only then is it the special effects.

Here's my prediction that will be proven True should Marvel foolishly pursue the latest utterings of Kevin Feige; that the Marvel films will go the way of the latest Star Wars trilogy.

Feige has been spewing one grand Social Justice Warrior pronouncement out of his mouth after another, and a very large segment of the U.S. public will refuse to buy it if it's put out on the screen. Furthermore, such "we'll force it down your throats whether you like it or not" tactics will also forever tarnish the previous films, and reduce the sales of those once-legendary products.

Star Wars was RUINED by the Social Justice Warriors producers who put their politics way before everything else. Proof is everywhere and easy to see. Store shelves crammed with Star Wars merchandise that won't move for YEARS, even when they're on severe Clearance. The proof is in the pudding, and the backlash was enormous and well earned.

How unbelievably stupid was Disney's approach? Not only did they twist and skewer the original characters in the new trilogy (making Rey SO powerful and without ANY training that she made Luke's mighty STRUGGLE and valiant story TOTALLY IRRELEVANT), but they reached back in TIME to grotesquely pervert The Most Cornerstone spaceship in the entire cannon: the Millennium Falcon. It is The Seat at every table. Now, whenever we watch the original trilogy, we are staring at a spaceship who's mind frequently sought out and had ACTUAL SEX with Lando, who is now a PANSEXUAL (an INSATIABLE RAPIST of EVERYTHING!).

So, even if we wanted to keep enjoying the original films, Disney made sure that it wouldn't be without the putrid stench of the Social Justice Warriors' cram-it-down-their-throats political agenda.

It is unreal that they joyfully and enthusiastically declared that Lando is a PANSEXUAL. I can't even get my mind around that. THEY gleefully declared it, numerous times. Not me. Look up the definition of that term. Such a person is a psychopathic MONSTER. I don't care what sexuality a person is, RAPE is the ultimate violation of a human being; many survivors saying that it's worse than death, because one's soul, spirit and zeal for life itself has been totally crushed if not completely destroyed altogether.

And there is NO undoing the harm delivered to this franchise by a handful of SICKOS with the agenda of projecting their perversions into an audience that wants NOTHING to do with such rot.

Tragic is not the word for it.

This deliberate twisting of Star Wars has KILLED it.

Pansexuality, or omnisexuality, is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity.

Excellent points Kyle.

I saw the labeling of Lando as pansexual to be pure Blaxploitation IMO.
Totally classless, and the opposite of Black Panther. Look what became the real blockbuster.
Disney/Lucasfilm should be ashamed and the story group/Star Wars show calls it cool and progressive.

However, I believe the damage is not irreversible.
