Soooo saved that to my local drive because it will most likely be gone before I can share it this evening with the wife.

Snoke is badass.

No disappointment there.

Disappointed that Rey and Kylo are not siblings. Big mistake IMO.

Also, Rey's power level sounds ridiculous. She scars Kylo's face? Please. I'll only buy it if Kylo looks like he wasn't trying to hurt his cousin and paid the price for it.

At this point, the only other thing I want to see other than the full movie (which I will on the 20th) is the Rey vs Ben lightsaber duel. My wife has been trying to find it. But Disney is being incredibly aggressive about getting it yanked almost as soon as it goes up.

At this point I think the biggest spoiler in Disney/Lucasfilm's eyes is the reveal that Rey is the one destined to be a Jedi and not Finn. Especially after the aggressive action to get the personal picture of the backboard of Rey with lightsaber figure pulled.

Do we know that for sure? I don't know how old Kylo and Rey are supposed to be but Adam Driver is 9 years older than Daisy Ridley, so what if Kylo turned to the dark side when he was a teenager and

Han & Leia took Rey to Jakku to hide her away from him?

The problem is of course that

Rey doesn't seem to know Han & Leia (and they don't indicate that they know her, but they could just be keeping it secret and don't want to tell her yet)

yet since Force users can read minds what if they're also able to wipe memories too? So maybe Luke (or possibly Leia even) can do it and was asked to wipe Rey's memory when she was left on Jakku? Another possibility of course is that Rey is

Luke Skywalker's daughter (although who is the mother?) so therefore Kylo is her cousin.

There definitely seems to be some kind of connection between Kylo and Rey though, whatever it is.

By the way, I seem to be in the minority here judging by comments I've seen online ever since the original trailer, but I didn't think Kylo's mask was that great. I think it would have been really cool if he actually made a replica Darth Vader suit (or at least the mask & helmet) and wore that instead. Maybe even claim to be Darth Vader since he's so obsessed with him and wants to be like him. It could have added to the mystery of the film too.

Imagine watching the trailer and seeing what appeared to be Darth Vader? Everybody would be like "How can Darth Vader be in this? He died and was burned on a funeral pyre, plus we saw Anakin's Force ghost at the end of Return Of The Jedi!" And even at the start of the movie itself the audience could think that he really is Darth Vader somehow and it's only revealed that he's not in the scene with

Snoke talking about Han

along with

Han and Leia explaining the situation in more detail

a little later.

One of the big problems I've always had is this lack of knowing the galaxy's history. Everyone seems like an ignorant moron. Does anyone remember any of the good times in the Old Republic, and especially about the Jedi? In something like twenty years the Jedi are basically forgotten... a myth. Han calls it "an ancient religion." Huh?

The same thing is happening here. Rey knows Han as a smuggler and not as one of the biggest heroes of the Rebel Alliance? Finn thought he was a wookiee. Yeah, I know its played for laughs... and I laughed, but really? Luke, Leia and Han did everything they did and no one knows? No one remembers? No credit? Nothing?

Instead of people wasting time writing crap books and comics, real writing efforts could've been made to truly fill in the gaps between Episode III and Episode IV. Now it looks like between Episode VI and Episode VII as well.

I would love to see stories of Luke debriefed after Endor. Everybody finding out Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One... the Jedi Messiah who turned to the dark side. Everyone finding out Leia was Luke's sister and Vader/Anakin's daughter. Leia deciding to run for Supreme Chancellor in the New Republic. All the problems that could result. The personal and political stories are limitless. Other interesting writing would be Han and Leia's relationship, marriage, etc.

Do you have the attention span of a two-year old in need of constant action? Well, further battle for years with the Imperial Remnant should more than suffice. Development of Starkiller, new trooper armors, troopers with batons and shields. All the desirable action story elements are there for even a limited imagination.

I'm just sick of the whole "Oh, we have forgotten the past and so we're doomed to repeat it" scenario. To me, it is just lazy writing. :whatevaho:

Well, can you discuss in detail the geopolitical situation of Earth in 1985 without googling? I think many of us would be hard pressed to recall everything. Expand that to an entire galaxy. I can forgive a bit of rehashing story concepts if the story moves along.

To me, "lazy writing" would be forgetting that the characters in the movie were not sitting in the audience with us watching the previous six movies.

New, younger characters not knowing everything in advance is actually a bit more realistic.
