A new trailer for Star Wars Battlefront. They actually went back to the original filming locations to do some of this.
Looks like it will be spectacular: :o

Reveal trailer and details announced.

The game will tie in to Episode VII by showing the Battle of Jakku, a showdown between the Rebels and the Empire after Return of the Jedi.

Was that footage produced by the game's engine?

If so, WTF?!

If not, WTF?

Indeed actual ingame footage! amazing looking. Looking forward playing this. I'm not a big gamer anymore though. But THIS makes me coming BACK.

I hope to god there is a gaming section established before the game launches so we can collect gamertags so we can play games together.

Just wanted to post these pretty pictures for the record.

From the Celebration VII's gaming, props, and novel exhibits we have learned a lot:

- Aftermath is being used to describe the time period between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens.

- Jakku is The Force Awaken's post-apocalyptic desert junk planet.
- First Order is the remains or the successor to The Empire.
- The Resistance is the remains or the successor to The Rebellion.

Also not opposed to starting a gaming subforum as some of us like to play SWTOR late at night wasted.

It looks gorgeous but it's a very bare bones title. I would have liked the inclusion of single player campaign and space battles. Quite frankly, for 79 bucks the consumer needs more than 4 planets and 12 maps.

The power of the hardware should allow simultaneous battles in space and on the ground, so that the rebels on Endor need to knock out the shield before the fighters can make their run at the Death Star.

With every console generation, games are getting more and more stripped down so that publishers can sell DLC. It's a shame that there's only a handful of publishers that give you real bang for your buck these days.

Since Hoth has been done-to-death in Star Wars games, the game play trailer didn't move me. I find the new trailer below more interesting. I'm going to assume that Shocktroopers are going to make their way into Rebels and/or Rouge One.

Even though (and maybe because) the story in the trailer below lifts heavily from Lost (and maybe GOT), I find it to be the most interesting.

I can get behind the TOR trailer, and then I remember that the game looks absolutely nothing like the wonderful trailers that we've been getting.

then a get a sad.

I've never played or seen TOR, but wondered if the game itself could possibly look that good. What does it look like, just out of curiosity?

The Old Republic trailers are deceptive.
They are made to look so incredible, then the game itself is tiresome garbage.
It's good for a while, then it becomes so repetitive and boring.
I'd never pay to play that crapfest.

Counterpoint: The TOR "let's play" youtube is also deceptive as the user's graphics are on the low settings. If you have a 8core, 16gb ram, high-end video card with SSD drive and the game's graphics on the "high" setting - TOR looks beautiful.

Other issues for the game are a (albeit customizable) user interface that takes up the entire screen, gear and weapons which do not level up with you, and long difficult game play. The developers are attempting to streamline the game with 12xp for leveling and the option to purchase a level 60 character for their new expansion.

In terms of subscribing, game2play sells two month game codes for $20.

Even at high-end settings, they're never the same as the fluid play of the trailers.

Yes, the trailers are rendered with the game engine, but the polygon count and rendering is far more complex than what the game will do on the fly.

Um, I don't know about you but it sounds like a lot of new Star Wars music is in there. It also sounds like John Williams, and if it's not then it's an awfully incredible imitation.

This gameplay looks bland. I would have liked to see a story element tie the pretty visuals together. The design team's trips to the Archives and locations seen wasted on a deathmatch.

Ah yup. I mean, there's some very pretty stuff going on, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of team objectives here. BF 1 and 2, as stupid as the AI is, at least make you feel like you're part of a team, with players and bots trying to take and hold strategic points. This feels like a bunch of random individuals, kinda sprinkled about on a map without much to actually do.
And, personal nit-pick, ugh - I can't believe they scanned a RotJ TK suit AND built the E11 model off the RotJ version. The absolute WORST looking suit, and the absolute WORST looking version of the stormtrooper blaster they could have picked, and they went for it.

Sounds like Tem's Boba:

Temuera Morrison is voicing Boba Fett in Star Wars: Battlefront?

I was wondering if it was Dee Bradley Baker, but there is a definite distinction between the two. Definitely sounds more like Morrison.
