Seems like the SAGA will be released digital on VUDU.com with a bunch of Bonus Material from DvD and Bluray: I hope for MORE deleated Scenes for the movies. Not just the Stuff realesed with the Discs. There is some stuff I'd like to see with OT and PT!

Let's see when the offer wil hit europe and germany specially.

I would imagine that it's all the same stuff that was already on DVD and Blu Ray.
But what I find most interesting is that everything but A New Hope has the "Disney Movies Anywhere" logo at the bottom of the artwork.

Still Fox Property I guess.

Really seems strange that only vudu (for now) seems to be getting these. LFL seems to have had a good digital relationship with Netflix and Apple/iTumes, so I'd be really surprised if those two entities aren't included. Some of those special features are recycled from the DVD releases of the past.

They do this with every release and act like it's some fucking privilege to watch these films. I expect iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and the like will have them all soon.

Doesn't mention any specific digital services, but the "Digital bonus offerings may vary by retailer" disclaimer would indicate to me that the digital collection is coming to more than just Vudu.

Its great to see J. W. Rinzler be such a big contributor to all the special features. I've enjoyed his books so much and I'm happy he's being prominently mentioned here.

The Trailers are cool. I did get them from yt now.

I wonder if they will add more deleted scenes. I'm hoping for the Ep III Scene of Padme and Kenobi before him leaving for Kashyyyk. I loved that scene in the book and would die to see beeing played out! *crosses fingers*

The new fanfare is a welcome surprise. It's not got Fox's heritage, but it's a good substitute and a lot better than mere silence. Well handled, Disney and Lucasfilm.

Guess that's how TFA will start out?

I don't know. Not quite onboard. We already hear that piece of music at the finale of some of the films and it's more movie than company-related. Would've preferred an original Disney/Lucasfilm fanfare. Something new for a new beginning.

They couldn't have Johnny compose a new intro?

Not saying this applies to anyone in the thread, or on this board...but..

People lose their shit over a split-second of Greedo/Han shooting whenever, and yet changing the actual intro of every film just goes unnoticed? Wonder if there will be any reaction to that as these films get more widely viewed in this format.

I think it's fine. I've always loved that beat from the ESB end credits.

They've had 3 years to figure something out and I would have thought they'd have done something more creative with a new melody composed by JW.

I associate the old 20th Century Fox fanfare with the experience of Star Wars, but it's ultimately immaterial to the content of the films unlike the Han/Greedo stuff. Changing that bit of music was unavoidable with the switch from to Disney, so it's not really a big deal to me.

Isn't that a longer extension of the LF logo than what appeared at the end of the Fox Fanfare?
If it is, then that would point to more emphasis on LF than on Disney in the opening production credits, if in fact this is what will lead into the new films.

I'm sure they will. Wouldn't be surprised if we got a new Lucasfilm logo at the head of the film too.

Did anybody view the Cutscenes? Are there any new ones?

I couldn’t really tell if there was any substantial difference between the Lucasfilm logos. The new fanfare is about 10 seconds long, with the solo Lucasfilm logo fading in and out over the span of about 7 seconds. The music continues a few more seconds after the screen has faded to black before the “A long time ago…” card. For comparison, the old 20th Century Fox fanfare and logos on the Blu-rays ran for about 20 seconds in total, with the Lucasfilm logo being visible for about 7 seconds, as well.

As far as TFA and the other new films go, I would bet Disney goes the same direction they went with Marvel Studios, where you only see the Marvel branding.



Doesn't look like there are any new deleted scenes. All the deleted scenes and other features from the Blu-ray release are packaged in a "Legacy Content" section on each film. The new featurettes are really well done, but I wish they could have been longer - I don't think any of them run for more than 10 minutes.

Disappointing! I was hoping for some more scenes of Ep III, they didnt feature great scenes with the BD, except the one with Kenobi and Skywalker at the elevator and some bantering and Anakin and Palps complete Jedi Council Appoinment scene.

I want to see Padme and Ben before him leaving for Kashyyyk so badly. Give us this scene LucasFilm. And Anakin and Palps talking Padme having an affair with a a Jedi after Kenobi left Coruscant.

Has anyone found a torrent or nzb etc for the digital releases or the extras yet, iv'e been scouring to no avail!
