More rumors:

I like this idea. Reminds me of The Seven Samurai or The Magnificent Seven:

Luke has trained seven Jedi since Endor, two of whom surface in the third act. It is unknown whether Lupita Nyong’o’s character is included in this distinction.

The fact that Ali "AL" Arikan was invoked - who was only relevant literally 11 years ago after tricking TheForce.net's New Zealand-Los Angeleno Ewok Pudu (Darth Friday) into giving him concept art - is reason alone to dismiss this poster. (AL currently resides in the third world country Turkey).

Also any concept art that features Vader, Malgus, or Plagueis-type characters are just placebos for either Adam Driver's character or the hooded cyborg (suggested to be Luke).

Disney did not want the liabilities of the prequels in the new trilogy...

Does this person really think that anyone at Disney or Lucasfilm is going to dis the PT and that they don't :quote: get :quote: the Midichlorian concept?

Looks like Uncle George doesn't care much about how Episode VII turns out. Make you feel any more or less interested in the story LFL is planning to tell with the sequels?

Seems that as far as he's concerned, Star Wars was the story of Anakin Skywalker and anything outside of that is extraneous.

To which I still say good for him. :)

It is fucking sad or lazy writing when halfway legit websites reference a fucktard like spoilerman, this shit made his day.

I don't get how Solo or Skywalker offspring would be living so shaggily dressed in the decrepit remains of an AT-AT as suggested by the concept art. Han, Luke and Leia were like the superstars of the rebellion. Why would any part of their future remain on that barren rock of a planet in such spare, nomadic conditions?

I've resisted speculation on this forum for the longest time. I see it as kind of a tempting but ultimately silly habit in the face of the yawning unknown. Give a man a knife and fork and he'll make a meal out of anything. But I'd just like to throw out the idea that Han, Luke and Leia are livin' it up like gods, for good or ill, when we meet up with them. Very meta in a way. And these youngsters are on the bottom rungs of what remains of an ongoing conflict between the rebellion's fledgling republic and a crippled empire. Also somewhat meta.

The best way to drum up some good drama in a smart and interesting way is to invert expectations. Like the prequels did in grand form. I love the idea of Luke having gone rogue and dark. Perhaps the familiar arrogance of the Jedi and their republic is seen once more. The feeling perhaps akin to when Frodo decides to keep the ring at the conclusion of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Like a cruel, cosmic, cyclical joke.

Maybe Rey has relocated to the outer rim to escape the reach of the growing threat? Maybe Han / Luke / Leia made her move to protect her ala Luke from the Emperor?

Rotten parenting. What parent wouldn't die defending their children and being with them against some great threat (especially such mint heroes as those that make up this need-no-introduction trio?)? And for such a long time? Rey seems pretty acclimated to Tatooine.

I think Rey is looking for her uncle, and how better than to retrace his steps or live like he once did. Maybe she is looking for a clue on the planet he grew up, maybe there are rumors he is there. My other thought is she is the idealistic one disenfranchised with her moms new government so she moves to remote tattooine for the exciting pod races and danger. I think Dad and Chewie are usually nearby keeping an eye on her.

There must have been some surviving jedi and Padawan, why didn't they reach out to luke or the new republic. Even if Luke refused to rebuild the order in the republic wouldn't one of The survivors? This point along with Leia's child in seclusion points to a big problem with the new republic. Something people are not happy with.

This seems plausible: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Super Weapon and Luke Skywalker’s freedom!"

Is it a coincidence that an official character name turns out to be Ren?

Maybe, it's Nyong'o and not Christie who plays the Vos child?

That would explain the Ventress rumors.

FYI - BB-8 is 100% prop. No CGI.

I thought that from the start, but instant reaction was that it "must be CGI." Well, now we know the truth.

No doubt JJ and team listened and put a lot of time into the practical props. Seems like every article that comes out, is exactly what we are looking for. Tough to criticize anything at this point...

I doubt he meant that BB-8 in motion was a practical effect. From what I understand, getting R2 just to move in a straight line during production of the OT was a huge hassle. So much so, that much of his movement in the PT was done in CG, I don't see them going through the job of making sure that a ball rolls at 20 mph while balancing a tiny head on top and staying perfectly in center frame across a rugged sandy terrain when it could be done digitally to perfection. Not to say that Hamill is incorrect. Just like with R2, I'm sure that their was an onset version of the droid for static character shots.

It's pretty explicit that BB-8 is a remote control device. It doesn't actually need to move at 20 mph. They can use cool camera tricks and editing techniques to make things appear faster than they're moving in real life!

Not very relevant to compare movies filmed over 30 years ago with ones being made today. And part of the reason R2 was CG'd in parts of the PT is that he did fantastic and unrealistic movements (flying for instance). Not to mention George made plenty of things CG, even when there was no good reason to.
