I saw Intersellar yesterday. Loved it. Mind-bending, good acting, fairly well written, beautifully shot and directed.

There are some truly breathtaking space scenes, and I loved the silence in space.
The whole thing is completely stolen from both 2001: A Space Odyssey and 2010, and even Contact, but it worked for me.

I am not a fan of Hans Zimmer's music, but I liked his score in this, even though it almost quotes verbatim a few passages of Philip Glass's score to Koyaanisatsi

Loved this beautiful creation (and in a stunning IMAX 70mm film presentation) for all the same reasons. I consider it a long-needed update to 2001 (unsurprisingly, my second most favorite film). Satisfies that same aching hunger and love for the Cosmos. I went with my old man who didn't enjoy it all that much (not a movie guy whatsoever) but we've been conversing non-stop about the science and ideas behind it all.

And what a coincidence! I've been listening to "Prophecies" from Koyaanisqatsi on repeat to content myself until the score is released in a week or so.

That's awesome you got to see it with your old man.
I kept thinking about my dad during this movie. He would have loved it.
