Actually this isn't my first lego, but my first lego in a long time.
I got Slave 1 for Christmas (apparently it was on sale for $25 dollars at Kaybee Toys, down from the original $40 to $50 dollar price?)

Bah...leave the AT-ST thingy. Go for the Republic Gunship. That thing is mother-fuckingly awesome.

I'm still waiting for Lego to start making scale aircraft like F-18s.

Gotta agree that the Gunship is awesome. Doesn't come with enough troopers though. You only get 4, and some nameless Jedi. I wanted Obi-Wan or Anakin... but no. :( I only got the AT-TE after I found it on sale... and then I bought 2.

I assume you mean AT-AT & AT-TE?

The AT-TE's sides are sturdier than I expected actually... but no good for anything other than display.

The armour on the AT-AT is fine, for the most part. The MAJOR problem with this set is the head, which doesn't even stay in the same place when you pose it. It constantly wants to droop to either side. Plus, the sides of the head itself are on turntables and hinges, which doesn't exactly detract from the problems.
