What Tom Hodges (star wars artist, did some official stuff) reckons the new troopers look like...

"It's not much, but it's enough. Don't ask how I've seen it, I just have"

I like the new trooper design, if that is in fact the new helmet.

McQuarrie lives (apparently)

The helmets look like relatives to the Episode 2 Clone Trooper concept design and the cop from Star Trek. So, I'll buy that it's close the real thing.

I kinda miss the traditional mouth piece, though.

Looks like the troopers are real costumes this time.

Maybe. They made "real" helmets for the prequels too, they just scanned them for the CGI Troopers.

Millennium Falcon Duel

It would be really cool to see a lightsaber duel out in nature for a change of pace considering all the previous movie duels have been indoors for the most part (Qui-Gon/Maul in the desert).

That Chrome trooper certainly looks enigmatic.

The cloak is a clever touch, i hope it's part of the costume.

I had been pondering if mirrored armor was resistant to lightsabers.

Focused light, in all it's glory, is still redirectable with a mirror.

I've never seen a blue screen background with painted imagery on it before.

I'm loving the juxtaposition of nature and Imperial tech that's coming from these spy pics and reports. It kind of reminds me of the original Halo game where Forerunner architecture was built into existing natural features.

It's one of the things I really loved from the OT and was sorely lacking from the PT - technology that existed in a natural environment - from the vaporators dotted around the vast desert flats of Tatooine, to the tech emplacements on Hoth to the X-Wing completely out of place in the swamps of Dagobah - Star Wars needs natural elements to ground it and make it tangible. I can only hope that they play around with scenes shot in mist or fog to evoke that feeling that was so prevelant in 70s/80s fantasy movies.
