Filming on Skellig Michael underway featuring Mark Hamill & Daisy Ridley:

It's possible this village of monk huts could be featured as some alien settlement.

Harrison back on his feet, which is great news.

Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill share scenes together on Skellig Island. I think it's a good bet that she's the "Skywalker" child and the main hero for the trilogy.

This looks like a breathtaking location. Something very unique for Star Wars, but has an other-worldly quality. Excited to see how it translates to the finished film.

Exactly, it doesn't look like anything else in the movies. I love those stone huts and the crew were seen around them, so I assume they were filmed. Luke's sanctuary ála Ben Kenobi?

Hope some puffins sneak into the background. ;)

Someone on Twitter took a pic yesterday with Mark Hamill and just for fun I checked Google Streetview.

Seems to add up. The Butler Arms Hotel is a short distance from Skellig Michael. :chewbacca:

Speculation re Skellig Michael shoot

Some interesting speculating on the link above, perhaps more interesting are the comments of a couple of "insiders" in the comments section.

What a stunning location. I can't wait to see how they use it.

This rumour has been thrown around for months now. If he does appear, I don't think it'll be anything more than a vision (probably Luke's).

One thing I wouldn't mind is to hear more of JEJ's iconic voice, but that would have been more appropriate in Episode III. Unfortunately we only got about 10 words. Flashbacks don't fall into the storytelling style of Star Wars, so I would think we won't see any of that.
