Ahh, but can you imagine how happy T would be to get Rose back. :)

My problem is that they (Padme, Dorme) seemed close in AOTC. It seemed more friendly than a senator and a servant.

Now, she just vanishes.

It's like Sabe. (Keira)

I don't like that.

How are we supposed to care about the characters when they seem so interchangable, like LEGO blocks?

Granted, the handmaidens are small parts. But wouldn't it be nice to see Padme have a scene or two with Dorme considering what she will be going through in this movie?

Yeah, one of the new ones could do it. However, it wouldn't be the same.

Dorme was established. Use her.

How are we supposed to care about the characters...

I've followed (non-EU) Star Wars since 1977, and I can't tell you who half of those characters are listed above. I never cared about them.

well there was 10 years between TPM and AOTC.

Panaka was pissed about SW and his part went to his nephew TYpho played by jay la'agaliaiaaiiaaliaaa

You're missing my point.

Having Dorme back and giving her some time, some dialogue with Padme could make us care more about Padme.

Lucas establishes a relationship between the characters in AOTC (albeit slight), totally abandons it, and the character vanishes from the galaxy.

Plan ahead.

Well, we all know the story with Hugh.

But that is easier to explain away. He stays with the new Queen (Jamillia), not the new Senator (Padme).

You're missing my point.

My non-Star Wars buddies can barely remember who Padme is, or Qui-Gon, let alone some really minor character. I don't think Lucas is attempting something quite that deep. It's fine with me, but I understand some viewers wanting more.

A big part of it for me has to do with characters just vanishing into thin air.

Personally, I'd like to see some resolution when it comes to Typho. He should bite it and we should see it.

Otherwise, why would he let Padme follow Kenobi to Mustafar?

As to what we have to work with, one has to figure the two new handmaidens know their Senator is pregnant as does Typho. I'm sure they also know about the marriage. (Those new web Doc pictures leave no doubt).

There's opportunity there.

Absolutely. She should have been on Yavin IV and/or Hoth. Definitely.

Expect the reverse. I think Anakin is going to take some pleasure in smoking that frog on Mustafar.

If Lucas is smart, Gunray should be the last one he kills...and it should come with buildup. :heavymetal:

I've come to understand the truth behind Rose not coming back for EpIII - we all know she is the REAL PADME.

...

I agree with Darth Hade. Sabe and Dorme are Padme's 'family away from home.' How much better would AotC have been if SABE had of been killed on the landing platform instead of Corde?

I hated that the family scenes were cut from AotC, but at the same time I would have liked to meet Padme's family in TPM.

The same could be said for Dooku - an enormously major character in terms of plot movement - left for the middle part of the Saga. Get rid of Maul in TPM and replace him with Dooku's leaving from the Jedi would have made a much better story.

And personally, I hope that Jar Jar does reappear in some of the Rebel scenes in ANH and RotJ.

Not sure I agree with much of that, T

I'm one of those who was glad the expositional family scenes were cut from the final edit.

Now that the PT has come full circle it would be nice to see Mon Mothma have a cameo in the Dodonna ANH scene.

Jar Jar..hmm.. I dunno about that. I would rather see his story end with EPIII. There's a good chance he may go back to Naboo or even to Alderaan.

Not one for inserting Padme's family into TPM or cutting Maul (wtf???) lol

Get Dooku in TPM - oohhh yeah!!!!!! :heavymetal:

Hey SI, I will trade you one dorky Sith Lord Maul for one sexy handmaiden Dorme.

When I saw Dorme in AOTC, the sheep in me said "Luke and Leia's mid-wife during the delivery! She must run off with Organa and the twins! Drool!"

But, nope. No such luck of having a decent female actress in a signficant role for the Prequels.

Hey, Force Kin, the truth is that Dorme is Leia's mother. It's quite clear:

BTW on the JC thing, I remember in the Set Diary "Council n Session" that Pablo described a Human male Jedi with a funky alien hat being on the Council, anyone "in the know" know what happened to him?
Or was I miss reading it?

It actually said...

"Four alien Jedi (and one human Jedi with a funky alien hat) are working today, confirming that the roster of the Jedi Council has changed due to the ongoing turmoil of the Clone Wars."

Now since in that set diary he confirmed that Plo Koon, Mace Windu, Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Saesee Tiin, Stass Allie, and Agen Kolar are on the Council, that made an even 12. But then in post production reports Pablo said that Pablo-Jill, Kit Fisto, Even Piell, and Oppo Rancisis had been added to the Council. It's fair to say these weren't the four alien Jedi he was talking about. So the odds are he made a mistake that day and assumed those Jedi were on council. Since the making of doc that showed the council room shows none of these Jedi he was talking about in any of the chairs, the odds are they're just regular Jedi Knights getting assignments at some point.

EDIT: It wouldn't be the first mistake Pablo has made in a set diary. He assumed Senator Tikkes was returning once but then later corrected himself when he realized it was Tundra Dowmeia. Oh well.

It's never seen importnt to me, to have Dooku in TPM. In terms of the saga, Dooku is a pretty insignificant player, who's only real role, is to start the Clone Wars and be killed in to first 20 minutes, by Anakin.

Dooku is by far the biggest PT letdown for me. Damn, remember the reports on this asskicker before Lucas cut him off? He was set to rule but instead we got just another villain.

I don't miss him in TPM. If they would have let him be the man he was in the script I would.

Well, I suspect Lucas realised there was no point building him up into a really big villain in AOTC, only to have him "off'ed" in the first 20 minutes of Episode III.

I assume this is also the reason why Dooku didn't even make it onto the AOTC Poster? ;)

Dooku's death in EpIII is the perfect time; whether or not he was introduced in TPM or AotC.

Dooku was not slowly introduced in AotC. He was thrust onto the screen in the opening scroll...

Pablo just confirmed on the OS's forums that Obi-Wan is indeed on the Jedi Council.
