Lucasfilm denied that breakfast thing is happening, so we'll see.

Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn interview:

- Confirms there was some 2nd unit shooting in Abu Dhabi already.

- He's going to London this week to go over the script with JJ

- Casting "almost" complete, announcemnets coming "very shortly"

- GL is still a consultant on the film

- Budget is $175-$200

- Doesn't rule out May release dates for future Star Wars releases

I still say there's no way Ep. 7 comes out next December. The "May release" thing is, to me, clearly, a hedge on moving Ep. 7's release date, not just the future films.

I don't understand why people are so doubtful about the Dec.'15 release date. Sure, they haven't really told us anything, but that doesn't mean they haven't done anything.

Good point. To me, it all depends on when concept work began. Even if concept work began when the LFL acquisition was announced (Oct. 2012), that's a lot more lead time before production and a lot less time for postproduction than any other SW film has had. And since "we're doing this the old fashioned way, dammit!!!" narrative has been shoved down our throats, a Dec. 2015 release date still seems like a helluva stretch, without compromising quality all over the place. I hope JJ can pull it off, I'm just skeptical.

Firstly, you're comparing Episode VII to prequel timelines. The OT had a lot less time in post than the PT. Second, you're also assuming that post-production in 2014/2015 takes as long as it did in 2005. Plenty of special effects-heavy films spend just under a year in post. Just because it's Star Wars doesn't mean it takes longer to do VFX than other projects.
