Gotta admit, I kinda miss Gascon and the rest of D-Squad.

*ducks errant shoe*

I didn't enjoy this episode very much. I think Maul is best in only small doses. Having him maintain that snakey, vicious attitude in all of his dialogue, especially in all that strategizing between him and Pre Vizsla, didn't work for me. Like butter spread too thin over bread.

But I'm still anxious to see what happens when these baddies unleash all their gathered resources and do all the inevitable back-stabbing. Bring that on!

Dang I think I loved this episode more than anything in the season ! Lots of cool action, which I hope will be a nice buildup for some bigger action, as this seemed to be more of a planet-hopper. Still, playing Bounty Hunter in the last days, the Mandalorians seem even cooler to me now. I also start to like Maul and Savage more than before - they almost seem hurt by all the stuff they went through.

While I enjoyed this episode a lot, I agree that Maul is not special anymore (at least, as far as TCW goes). I'm not used to him speaking a lot, or being in charge.

Can't wait for next week.

Can't say I was surprised that there was a missing shot in that scene. No wonder it got censored as well - it might be a bit too much for the target audience, because they're probably more used to Call of Duty

I’m not sure how to evaluate this episode without repeating some of my usual compliments (i.e. intelligent writing, cinematic directing, and creative production design).

In general, Maul’s plan is coming together as I expected. Next season, it may be the Separatists and the Republic joining forces against Maul’s alliance.

Filoni has promised deaths when discussing Maul. I have a feeling it will go in this manner: Vizsla offs Satine; Maul offs Vizsla; Sidious offs Savage. Thankfully, Sugi wasn’t killed in an episode where she didn’t have a line.

As a side note, Filoni indirectly confirmed that the Pykes were designed for the LAS in the featurette.

A new preview is below.

Yeah, I have a strong feeling that Pre Vizsla will die too. If that is the case, then I hope he goes out putting up a decent fight at least. Seeing the Republic allying with the Separatists would be funny. I can imagine how the chatter between the clones and the droids would go, lol.

I thought it was interesting that Filoni said that the Pykes were something George himself had been "developing." I can't help but wonder if this might be an indirect look at some of the characters or creatures we might be seeing in the Sequel Trilogy. :?

I didn't have high expectations for this Maul arc, as I thought it was pretty BS to bring back a dead character for fan service. It's a very cheap, low rate move.

That said, it's being very well written and an arc I can actually get behind as "canon." Very impressive.

Yes; Maul’s return is contrived. But, there’s too much fun to be had to let the character lie. It makes me wonder if he’ll be around for the LAS or Sequels? After all, his craftiness seems to outmatch both Vader and Tyranus. He truly is Sidious’ heir apparent.

Since the Pykes are from the Coruscant underworld, it stands to reason that they were developed for the LAS.

Another preview is below. Wow – look at the detail in the crowd shot. Feature film quality to say the least.

I hope not (it would cheapen Luke and Anakin achievement in RotJ). He'll probably be dealt with within the series.
