This was a great episode! Probably the most moving episode yet. Gregor's arc and fate were so damn touching. And the choral music that kicks in at the end? Wow. Also, Gascon's eulogy-like words followed by the droids' sad wooing closed the episode perfectly.

:masterstroke:

I love this arc! :)

Great last stand. His off-screen "death" implies that he will make it and possibly appear in a future episode.

A side of me really, really liked this episode (as expressed above), but another side of me thought Gregor's transformation from amnesiac dishwasher to Republic commando smacked of hawkish propaganda. Made me wince a bit when he defended the life of a clone trooper. In my mind, it sharply contrasted with the words of a particularly rebellious clone trooper back in a season 1 episode, The Hidden Enemy. I guess an interesting feature of the Clone Wars having such a breadth of episodes is their inclusion of very different characters and beliefs.

Still haven't seen the ep, but honestly I don't think it's a bad idea from a storytelling perspective to contrast the doves with occassional hawks if that's what they did. We need to see that the clones, at least the majority of them, actually see the war as a noble pursuit. If not how do you explain Order 66 and the transformation to stormies? I LOVED Hidden Enemy, and LOVED talking about that episode even more with my kids - just because you look like everyone esle doesn't mean you have to act and think like them, your actions determine the person you are, not your birth, regardless of what is expected of you, there is a moral obligation to act in the way you think is right...just great, great stuff. You just couldn't only show clones objecting to fighting the war as clones or you start having to question why they obey orders at all. Anyhoo, looking forward to watching it tommorow morning.

Yeah, what you're saying makes perfect sense in terms of having to portray the clones a certain way to make plausible their effort in the war.

I hope what little is left of the series (assuming we're only getting one more season after this one concludes) delves into more of the clone's programming, either genetically or institutionally. I'm really curious about the origin of Order 66 and how an event like that is even possible. I think we were promised that in some past interview.

Yes, we were. By George Lucas himself during a Season 3 interview.

Thanks for the up

A very interesting episode. I thought Gregor's arc was over simplified (due to time restraints I imagine), but I liked the resolution and I enjoyed the references to ANH, both visual and thematic. I also grinned like an idiot whenever the Commando armour was on-screen.

Although I am ready to never see Col. Gascon again. He's been a one-trick-pony for three episodes now. Enough, already.

What pushed this episode over the top for me was the cameo by the Kenner Walrus Man:

A pretty cool episode. I found this commando to be more impressive than the ARC Troopers (Fives is an exception).

Damn! You beat me to it! And not just ONE Walrus Man, but in like every other shot! That made me giggle. Missed the posters, though, where were those? I particularly like Ben on a Swoop :)

Two previews. The first is for the next episode "Point of No Return." The second is from "Eminence."

Did she say, "Shall we rub them out?"

Reminds me of a line from the movie Little Big Man.
